Introduced to this place thanks to an app and so glad I made the drive to save some money and some food! We came in last to pick up for Too Good To Go and the lady that greeted us (always greets us now) was very sweet, gave us a seat at the front while we waited for our order. My son and I took a look around, the place was dimmed as it was the end of the night but still had a nice and calm ambience, blue and an ocean/ beachy vibe. Raymond (night manager?) came out to greet us and make some conversation. (We met him the next time too.) He mentioned the fish is freshly cut up every day and served by their own chefs. Impressive.. I did ask about AYCE and he said they don't do it, the food is fresh and they don't want to sacrifice the quality. I agree, I'd rather pay up for the quality. Again, the lights were off but someone walked in anyway asking to be seated. They were obviously closed and the hours are posted, "then why is the door unlocked?" lol they apologized, "sorry, but it's 9:03, we've closed everything up. I can get you a drink from the fridge?" They didn't have to, so I thought that was cool of them. The food was awesome, all the boys gave it a 10/10. Again, it was the last of the food from the end of the night (thanks again 2G2G) and still great. As someone who almost always orders a Dragon Roll wherever I go, I can honestly say On Demand Sushi has one of my top in Las Vegas. The Dragon Roll was incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and had the perfect balance of flavors and textures. The avocado was buttery, the eel was tender and flavorful, and every bite just worked. It's one of those rolls where you don't need to drown it in soy sauce because the ingredients speak for themselves. The service made the experience even better. Everyone was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind without making us feel rushed. It's always a good sign when the staff creates an environment that makes you want to stay a little longer. I also loved the atmosphere. It's clean, cozy, and has a relaxed vibe that's great whether you're grabbing a casual lunch, having a date night, or catching up with friends. Sometimes the best sushi spots aren't the flashiest--they're the ones that consistently deliver quality food and great hospitality, and On Demand Sushi does exactly that. I've had my fair share of Dragon Rolls over the years, and this one definitely ranks near the top. Really good sushi! My husband and I came in for a late lunch during the week and were able to sit right away. It doesn't seem too big inside, and they do have bar seating if you are into that. Our service was nice and attentive the whole way through! We started with the spicy garlic edamame which I absolutely loved! It had a hint of sweetness, and the longer it sat on the table, the thicker the sauce became on it. I took the rest of it to go that's how much I loved it. I got the japanese lasagna roll (baked) and the golden knight roll (fried). I loved every bite of it. I think we spent something like $70ish for our 2 rolls each, edamame, and beer for my husband. I thought everything was amazing and would love to come more since we live so close. I definitely recommend! Not sure how busy it gets during dinner or on the weekend, but it was pretty calm for us. Went to On Demand Sushi and it was fantastic. Everything was fresh and came out on time. Our server Preston was great and kept checking on us. He also helped me customize a roll bc the one I wanted was spicy, which was really cool. We got to talk to the owner Carey and he was awesome. The food quality was not great, the tonkatsu ramen did not taste or look like a tonkatsu ramen, tasted like a regular maruchan that you can get at Walmart for 60cents... the baked mussels were plain, barely any flavor.. the salmon kama was a 6/10, would not order any of that again. We live in Green Valley but travel to Southern Highlands specifically to go to On Demand Sushi. We've been there many times over the years. We have been there a few times for game watches and Carey has looked after us by putting together sushi and sashimi platters. We got caught out on Mother's Day when 3 other places that we went to were either closed or booked out. Despite a relatively full house we were able to eat at the bar which suited us just fine. Often we just like to hang out in the bar area to catch a game and despite other reviews, we like the atmosphere here. They also have happy hour specials and coupons for things like BOGO free rolls. If you are not totally feeling sushi, the wings are actually really good and I also like the poke nachos. In short this is a great neighborhood place that we keep coming back to. Go Hawks! read more

If you can't tell by now, I'm a big sushi fan! When On Demand Sushi opened up around the neighborhood we had to check it out. We walked in on a Friday night and were promptly greeted by the friendly staff. The restaurant itself is spacious and inviting. We also found out they host a variety of events including paint nights and how to roll your own sushi classes, we'll have to come back for one of those nights. We ordered a handful of items and each of them had won our hearts over. At the time when we visited they weren't offering AYCE yet, which we didn't mind. I live in Southern Highlands and tried this for the first time last night. The service was great - 5 stars. They didn't have a ceiling. Looks like a low budget place. Ambiance 1 Star. Even the waitress said we are low budget jokingly. The food was not bad - 2 stars. I had a feeling it was 2 stars when I first stepped in. A sushi place where there were no Asian workers. I have (not so) patiently waited 9 months for the birth of my son to come here again and I was just blown away. Where do I begin! I found out about this place via Tik tok, then saw their IG page. We came for the make your sushi, 4-6pm where the owner Gary taught us with his team. We had a cutting board knife and all the necessary tools. They did a great job of teaching us the how toos as well. It was $50 w/ a free drink for each person. Honestly, one bowl is enough for two people, none of us could finish ours The prices are amazing for the quality and quantity you get. The place itself is very nice and the staff is super friendly. I reviewed this place around when it first opened back in 2022 and kind of wrote it off as good but lacking variety - we came back recently and I definitely feel like they took my review to heart because the sushi variety this visit was incredible. The menu seems much more diverse and extended, especially with the rolls and specialty sushi, and I appreciated that a lot. My daughter is a bit of a purist, so the tuna roll (tekka maki) was her order and she loved it. I got the Jackpot Roll, and it was absolutely delicious. We also tried the Gyoza (delicious) and went with our server's recommendation and got Shrimp Poppers to try - both my daughter and i LOVED these. It's like a sushi-esque take on Jalapeno Poppers, with a Shrimp Tempura exterior, and then a crab meat and cream cheese (i think) interior - combined with the spicy mayo (i think) dipping sauce it came with, 10/10 for sure. The chef additionally brought us a rose of garlic tuna sashimi - so delicious! Unfortunately we didn't save room for dessert (we were stuffed). The owner (Cary?) came by during our meal and introduced himself to us and we chatted for a minute about the restaurant's new and upcoming events - sushi rolling classes is something I definitely want to do in the future with my family! I recently started dining here after ordering many times through Uber Eats and came in twice within two weeks because I liked the food. Unfortunately tonight's experience completely changed my impression. I ordered several dishes including three orders of sashimi. The first order came as four proper pieces, but the other orders was two pieces cut in half while still being charged as a full four piece order. The waitress apologized and said a discount would be applied, but after receiving the receipt by text it was clear no discount had been applied. While I was discussing this with the waitress, the manager/chef came to the table and rudely asked "what's the problem." When I explained the situation, he said the waitress shouldn't have said that, told me to have a good night, and walked away while I was still speaking. The issue wasn't the price, it was the inconsistency and being told something that wasn't honored. Based on this experience, I will not return or order again and cannot recommend this restaurant. After visiting On Demand Sushi this week I'm officially hooked!! The Southwest location is super cute! They have 2 sections, a dining room with a booths and a sushi bar, then the other side is a cocktail bar. My friends and I wanted to sit on the cocktail bar side, it was super fun! We came here wanting a quick bite. We were surprised at how nice the place was. The service was great as well minus the long wait time to bring out the kid's meal. My Baked Scallop dish was amazing! Anytime I add eel sauce, any dish becomes amazing. My other dish, I forget what it was called, might be crunchy tempura roll-it was good, it could have been great, but the crunchy tempura flakes they added on top of the rolls tasted like old oil, not sure if it was old, or the oil they used to fry was old... The Shrimp Tempura-shrimps were on the tinier side. Calamari was just okay, a bit over cooked. I'm not sure if they really used fresh crab or not on my rolls. When I walked in, I think.I may have made it about halfway through the door before I was greeted. The service I received was superb, to say the least. My glass was never empty. I enjoyed the fact that the waitress was able to recommend some great tasting rolls when I told her what flavors I was looking for. This review is long overdue as we are frequent diners here... We had such a great experience at On Demand last night . We were celebrating my birthday and came in as a party of 5 with 2 young kids, and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating or kind. From the moment we walked in, they welcomed us with smiles, helped get our table set up quickly, and made sure everyone, especially the little ones, were comfortable and happy. We actually noticed the "Neighborhood Bar" next to On Demand sushi and were very pleasantly surprised to discover they are the same business, with one side for more traditional dining and the other side to belly up to the bar! The full menu is available at the bar. We came in on a Monday which turned out to be trivia night- so we joined in, had so much fun, and won a discounted tab! The sushi is delicious- I can't stop raving about the Japanese Lasagna, but everything we tried was great. The owner stopped by and chatted with us, which is always appreciated. My only complaint is the entire party has to order AYCE or order a la carte. I don't eat enough rolls to break even on AYCE, but my husband really wanted it so I had to do it, too. (perhaps too many people are sneakily eating from the other's plate but having trust that we won't share would have been nice). The service was EXCELLENT! Water was always filled & we were always checked on.. definitely an amazing experience. Their nigiri and fish tasted fresh, they had unique rolls and items that I've never seen at other sushi restaurants, and it was all just so so delicious! My favorite appetizer that stood out was the clam chowder croquette! The tangy salmon poke was soo tasty. My favorite nigiri was the salmon heaven! And the house salad and cucumber salad were very flavorful. I highly recommend if you are looking for sushi that's worth it! 4 of us and a baby just got home from this place. We took our daughter and her husband to try as we live around this place. We're the only ones as it's before 5 so we're expecting that it'll be fast.
