Marcos came on time to do evaluate and quote a price for removing an oak tree in my front yard and grinding the stump and surrounding roots. After accepting the job, his cutting crew came at the scheduled time and did a very clean and professional job that included some free advice on how to protect the remaining trees. The grinding crew came a day later to do their part. After removing the mulch left from the stump which we used on our flower beds, we noticed some additional roots close to the surface. I called Marcos and, without hesitation, he resolved the issue by sending the grinders a second time. On point removed a large pine tree that died this past season. they came out gave me a fair quote considering how large the tree was and how close it was to the house. the gentleman I worked with was named Benito Flores. He kept me informed from timeline to quote until the job was completed. What I appreciated the most was how the handled my job. We had heavy rain this week I got the estimate with the thought that I would able to get service the following week, but the next morning I was informed that a crew would be by to cut down my tree. The tree was able to be cut down before the really heavy rain came, but they weren't able to grind the stump and haul away all of the debris...which was understandable. I called Benito and asked who I needed to pay, to which he replied just hold the check until the job is completely done. That gave me a lot of confidence that I had chosen the right team and I wasn't going to get stuck with a pile of stumps in front of my home. Tw days later after Storm had passed, they were at my home 8 AM with a stump grinder and a loader to haul away the stumps. Workers were great but was scheduled for Tuesday 9:00 am, 8:08 got text asking if they could do it Weds afternoon, which I said ok. They showed in the afternoon Tuesday said it would take about 2 hours, no shredder so they had to go dump half way through so took about 4 hours but didn't grind the stump till Weds. Asked about payment and was told cash or Zelle, if I wanted to pay with CC it would cost 8% more even though they say they take cards and never said it would be 8% higher. Again workers were great but would not use this company again as I don't want to be sitting around waiting on them different days. read more

I had two trees in my back yard cut down and stumps removed. A couple days later I went out to water my grass and noticed the fence on side of my house was broken. I viewed my video camera and saw the crew break the fence, the camera also showed them going in my unlocked shed. I immediately called the office and spoke to the recepionist. Marcos came out right away and agreed to take care of it, that was a lie! One week later I called back, this time I spoke to the owner who also agreed to send someone out to repair my fence, that was a lie too! Now I have to spent more money to have my fence repaired. I have to change my 5 star review. Our first experience was great. They trimmed our trees and removed one in the back. 4-5 months later, we found that the stump was not completely removed. We left several messages with no return call. Finally, after some persistence, someone answered. They sent out someone to take a look at the issue. We were told someone would be back the next day to take care of it. They never showed. When I asked, they told me that they didn't have a machine that can fit through our gate. My question is, how did they get back there the first time?? It's a shame because we were going to have them plant a new tree and continue to take care of our mature trees. I'd give 1 star if our first experience wasn't great. They want your business, but do not finish the job. We had to call a different company and spend more money to correct this company's incomplete job. read more

This review is long overdue. On Point came to my home for landscaping services (stump and root cutting and planting). They did an excellent job on both jobs. However, they recommended that flowers be planted as a part of my landscaping. The flowers they planted lasted one month and I watered them regularly. I believe that their recommendation was not a good one. I would not recommend this as a landscaping company. read more

Ryan was prompt to respond to my request for a quote. He came to my house to see what I needed and made recommendations about what needed to be done while keeping in mind my desire to maintain as much shade as possible. My project included the pruning of one large water oak and numerous smaller Holly and Bay trees which mostly needed shaping. The work crew, led by Chino, arrived on time, received instructions from Ryan, and completed the work efficiently. They did everything they were supposed to do and cleaned up and hauled away all the mess. On Point's estimate was 30%-50% less than the other 3 estimates I received. They are fully insured. I was emailed a certificate of insurance immediately upon requesting one. This is the first time I have used On Point and I am pleased with the service I received. As I scanned some of the other reviews of On Point Tree Service, I noticed a common theme in some of the reviews - a good initial experience and then a lack of follow up and standing behind their work. Our initial experience was outstanding. The person who came to survey the work and provide the estimate for the services was completely professional - we felt good about the estimate and On Point's ability to execute the work. Unfortunately, the execution of the work and follow up has been very disappointing. First, they planted different trees/plants/shrubs than what was specified in the estimate. This noted, we were flexible given the demand on plants, etc., due to the winter freeze. After they removed the dead trees, shrubs and plants, they left the plant beds in a bad state and broke an irrigation line, which they did later repair to our satisfaction. They trimmed a few plants, instead of removing them, and simply left them in a bad state. I also found out the hard way that they do not stand behind the health of the plants/trees/shrubs they plant. One of the holly trees they planted has died - Bryan told me that they do not warrant the health of the plants and that if we wanted him to replace it, he would give us an estimate, which he never did. My wife and I have repeatedly texted and called Bryan and his office since April 27th to simply: (1) replace the dead holly tree (holly trees were not what was in the original estimate) and (2) simply cut the plant stumps to the dirt level in the planting bed. I learned the hard way that Bryan very likely never intended to come to address the two points. One last point is that I was trying to be fair with Bryan by advising that if he simply kept his word and addressed the issues we agreed to and discussed I would provide a moderately positive review on the basis that he did follow up. I also advised that if he didn't follow up that my review would be influenced accordingly. With this he responded that he doesn't like threats, which was certainly not my intent. I could have written this review weeks ago, but I really wanted to give Bryan the benefit of the doubt to make good on his promises. So, in summary: (1) I cannot recommend On Point Tree Service and (2) if you do engage them, please read the estimate carefully and try to negotiate a final payment when you know what they planted will survive so you're not left with dead trees, plants or shrubs. read more
