Chowder bread bowl from Duckies

On The Beach Bed & Breakfast never disappoints! We just spent 3 fantastic nights here and loved it once again. Huge room, king size bed, Jacuzzi tub, ocean view, free happy hour wine & beer and you also get breakfast brought to your door! Seriously what else could you ask for?! Take in the views, take a walk on the beach and then go grab you some chowder from Duckies or a Brown Butter Cookie Co frozen custard and come back and either sit on the roof top patio or on your own rooms patio and enjoy! *P.S. they also bring fresh baked cookies and hang them on your rooms door handle every evening.

If you're looking for an escape, there's no where better than the quaint beach town of Cayucos. Better yet, there's also no better place to stay than On The Beach Bed & Breakfast. They are in a prime location directly across the street from the beach, yet conveniently provide parking (and a couple EV chargers) for guests underneath the building. I was welcomed by Sylvia at the front desk with a big smile cheek to cheek. She went over their complimentary happy hour, how breakfast works, what amenities exist at the B&B, and activities in the nearby vicinity. Upon entering my double queen suite (203), I was stunned by the size of the room with its vaulted ceilings, but also the stellar view. My room had a balcony that looked directly at the Pacific Ocean and the Cayucos Pier. This stay was simply to escape reality--and did exactly just that. I ran across the street for take-out, took a bubble bath in the jacuzzi, and ended the evening watching the sunset with the fireplace lit and a drink in hand. Did I also mention munching on the freshly baked, warm cookies?! The next morning I slept in and chose to have my breakfast delivered to my door. Both days' breakfast had delicious homemade scones, a good amount of protein options and my favorite local coffee (Fog Lifter) from Morro Bay Coffee Company. Next time I return to the Morro Bay area, I will be sure to stay at On The Beach B&B.

I had the loveliest stay at On the Beach Bed & Breakfast. The room was large and clean with a lovely balcony and fireplace. It's walking distance to everything in town including great coffee, restaurants, etc. It's also right on the beach, next to the pier. The staff couldn't have been friendlier and the breakfast each morning was phenomenal. Super lovely touches including homemade cookies and a complimentary glass of wine or a beer each evening. This place was such a gem and I look forward to returning!

I loved my personal retreat in Cayucos. The fresh backed cookies on my door each afternoon, the breeze, comfortable bed and bath, friendly staff and convenience to the beach helped me recover from a rough 2020 and prepare for my 2021. I plan to make an annual Walt spring pilgrimage to this spot. I was helped by staff via phone and in person; they helped me choose the right room for me. I was on the street side, it was awesome, and I think I'll choose the beach side next time just to get a little extra sea breeze. I had breakfast on the balcony every morning! The on-site parking was a really nice perk.

We love this quaint little town and travel up here to have a romantic getaway a couple times a year. This is our go to place to stay when we are here. The people who own and run it are so sweet! Large rooms with views of the town and of course ocean views..you can hear the ocean waves from every room, even the rooms with a town view. Yummy Breakfast quiche and a pastry, warm apple turnovers...yes please. The location at the end of the pier couldn't be better. Very comfy beds with the softest sheets I've ever slept on. Electric vehicle charging is also available which was plus! Can't wait for our next visit.

Anyone wishing to stay at this hotel, we experienced bedbugs. We are now going through the laborious process of cleaning our clothes, luggage, and interior of our car to mitigate the possibility of bringing them into our house. Beware!!! And they knew the place had bugs. When I called them to let them know while I was in the room. They said they thought they got rid of the bugs. Why would you do that knowing people are going to stay in that room. It sucks because this was one of my favorite places

View from side of the room looking out

We were on our way to San Simeon for a break from the everyday routine; also to take some take out for us and stopped in cayucos on the way, we found this place thru Yelp walked in and were greeting with a smile Decided to stay for the night, wow were we so happy we did Everything in this bed and breakfast is beautiful!! The room was beyond our expectations

Very nice place. Got a deal off Living Social for $152 and the room was worth it. Nice sunken tub for two people, fireplace, nicely decorated and right next to the beach. Two comments, the breakfast was very good, but the area is right in the middle and difficult if you have people checking out. The other thing was even though it was next to the beach a street runs behind that got a lot of traffic for a small town so we were hearing that more than the ocean. The other thing and my wife will be mad I said this, but we had a girl give us a real condescending attitude when we checked in. The rest of the staff from then on were great though, but that is not the first thing you want from a place you're staying at.

Amazing Breakfast, Savory Waffle with Scrambled eggs, manchego cheese and a balsamic glaze..

It's your typical Hampton Inn, with very comfortable bed linens and lots of hot water in the shower. Staff was professional. The hot breakfast is included and parking is free. You can tell they've put effort into keeping it fresh and comfortable. The staff? Genuinely friendly and helpful - great recommendations, warm greetings, and they actually acknowledge you as a member (which, let's be honest, doesn't always happen everywhere). Also...major bonus points for being dog-friendly. My pup was living his best life here. Now, let's talk breakfast. Or...my lack of breakfast. If you're plant-based, your options are basically: * Toast * Fruit * Plain oatmeal (if you're feeling adventurous) Meanwhile, my dog was over there enjoying what I like to call "my breakfast." Day one: cheese omelette. Day two: scrambled eggs and potatoes. Honestly, he was thrilled. I get that it's a standard hotel breakfast setup, but in 2026, throwing in one solid vegan option doesn't feel like a wild ask. Even a simple oatmeal bar or plant-based protein would go a long way. That said, everything else about the stay was great - clean, comfortable, welcoming, and easy. I'd absolutely stay here again... I'll just plan to bring my own breakfast.

We checked out this inn in person 7 weeks ago, the place we stayed last time had the most…read moreuncomfortable beds. I had read several reviews for this place saying how comfortable the beds were and how nice the rooms were. At that time the nicest woman showed us every room layout they had, even let us sit on the beds to test out the comfort level. The beds we sat on were way better than the other place. We also liked the different layouts of the rooms- the one with 2 separate bedrooms and the one with the kitchenette were our favorites- but we felt, at the time we could enjoy any of the rooms. They are also dog friendly if you aren't in the kitchenette room The reviews from before talked about a wonderful breakfast brought to your room each morning. When I mentioned it, the woman said they just discontinued that- the woman who was making the items had gone back to school in the mornings. She said they would be giving each guest a breakfast voucher for various small businesses in the area. This sounded like a great way to try out new places I asked if all the rooms had a fridge and microwave. We were assured they all did We booked thru a 3rd party for this trip. We stayed 3 nights- arriving Monday around 5 pm of Thanksgiving week There was a young man in the office when we arrived who said we were the last to check in for the evening He gave us our room keys and showed us the map on the wall to direct us to our rooms. He also told us parking is first come first served. We went to our room to store our belongings before heading out to dinner. I didn't see a microwave in my room- a must for my neck and back warmer for a recent injury. I went back to the office to request one. I was told he would look for one and get back to us. He came to our room 5 minutes later saying he couldn't find one. I explained I had been promised one by the nice lady when we came to look at the inn- he said she no longer worked there. That he had only been there a week He said he would call his manager and get back to us- but he left for the night without an update We asked him how to work the fireplace- but he didn't know We also asked to not have the maids come to the room while we were out. He said they don't come at all during your stays There is a binder in the room that tells you about the fireplace, as well as the location of some lockers to get "amenities" The locker has towels, tp, tissues.... There were also bikes and body boards available for use The rooms have been updated- but once in the room, it didn't seem to us that they were done well The bathroom floor is very slippery- we had to lay down towels for safety. The shower was not hot thru the whole stay- and water pressure is almost nonexistent There is a sign up in the bathroom about a 5 minute shower- no way you would get the conditioner out of your hair with no water pressure The fireplace wasn't working well... the tiniest of red on a log- and you can't really enjoy it from the bed. The tv is mounted above the fireplace- but it doesn't swivel- so you can't see it well from the bed The WiFi is a joke The beds were not as comfy as other guests reported- more were they as nice as the ones we had been shown a few weeks ago. We were in room 3 pacifica- they showed us rooms on the other side of the hotel The 2nd day we found a nice woman working in the office who was able to bring us a microwave. She did there were about 6 in the storage area. I asked if maybe the first guy didn't know where to look- she said that's where they always keep them. She stayed to make sure it worked when we plugged it in- the whole outlet didn't work in the front room The ironing board was broken- we were going to use it as a shelf for storage. The closest only had 1 hanger in it and 1 bathrobe. Which seemed odd there wouldn't have been 2. The coffee was in tiny refillable canisters. We brought our own coffee maker and coffee so wasn't an issue for us- but we both thought it didn't seem sanitary The fridge never did get cold enough- even though we had it on the coldest setting- so we ended up mostly using our big beach cooler In the 2nd day they cut back all the palm trees- grateful the woman who brought us the microwave warned us and we were able to move our car. We asked her if they would trim the ones right in front of our room- we had several stairs up to get in our room- and the palm fronds would smack you in the face when you tried to carry your stuff in and out. They did cut that back- very helpful But we were stuck in our room while the work was done. It was very loud There was always plenty of parking We didn't feel the beds we had were as comfortable as the ones in the other side of the inn- in room 3 the queen sized bed felt better then the king When we checked out it was another young man who also seemed new and inexperienced Hoping there is more training for the entire staff so everyone is on the same page

It felt like a home! Service was great. Check in was a breeze. They have limited front desk hours (10a-6p) but if you get there later they will put your key in a locked box from the front door so you can do self check in. Make sure to call ahead if you choose self check in so you can get the code. Also, they have an emergency line available if you need anything after hours. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We were able to rest well and it was quiet. The breakfast was delicious! We particularly enjoyed the Bircher Muesli, so good and refreshing and on the healthier side. I like how they have menus to choose from and it's so easy to fill out, after that, you just drop it off the night before to the front office box. My favorite part was that they had a heater in the bathroom, for someone who gets cold easily this was so convenient! There's plenty of parking and there's even a fireplace outside to relax if you'd like. They have bikes you can borrow as well. We walked everywhere and this place is the perfect spot because it was close to everything. The waterfront was only a 6 min walk while Main Street is a 3 min walk. We would definitely come back here again. Such a gem in Morro Bay! Thank you beach bungalow inn!
