One of the things that drew me to them is that they were willing to use only products that contained plant ingredients. I'm unable to use products with synthetic chemicals because my body is very sensitive to them. Many skincare businesses have a problem with this because so many products that are out there are not actually clean and non-toxic. This was not a problem at Beauty Republic though. Not only did my skin feel fantastic post-facial, they sell products that I can buy to use at home, and there are so many options to choose from that meet my criteria of being clean and non-toxic! They make sure to provide you with instructions via text message the day of your appointment, which is very helpful. The studio is now officially a team of two, lead by founder Marissa Duarte and her sister in law Vanessa. The services no longer include nails services. Their focus is entirely on skincare. Vanessa does offer waxing and lash lift/tinting services though! So, if you are looking for a place that is entirely dedicated to facials of various kinds with a holistic approach, this is it! And it's LOVELY. The studio is cozy and super well appointed. I was super relaxed the entire time. I went in for a facial that included gua sha with Vanessa. Vanessa is incredibly sweet and fun to talk to before and after your session. She keeps the session chat free so that you can indulge in all the relaxation possible and I loved it! Another nice aspect to their business is that it is a gratuity free zone, meaning that the pricing on their website is what you pay for and that's it. So you can think of it as the gratuity is included. I've never experienced that before and I must say it's a really nice way to enjoy a treatment. After my facial, Vanessa was gracious with her time and gave me some tips on how to use my gua sha stone at home. The Wilmot/Broadway location apparently just opened and the venue is very nice - clean, warmly lit, with calming surroundings. There are UV beds (bleh) as well as the automated spray tan booth. There's a promo going on during their grand opening ($14 for two spray sessions which is less than half price!). The setup is self explanatory but there's also graphical instructions and the attendant will happily explain the process too. Small towels and hair coverings are provided but bring goggles or be sure to keep your eyes closed. I opted for "clear/medium" which was just right. The "clear" option was advised as the alternative is tint which sprays an instant bronzer along with the tanner and that bronzer rubs off on everything. The following morning for the start of the swim phase I looked good -- modestly tan, with zero orange. Celebrity also has an infrared sauna that you can rent time in and they sell various lotions for after your treatment. Parking is easy in their shared private lot with the other strip mall businesses. Hours are convenient and open 7-days.
