Galactic Grind Coffee is parked right outside a gym and has plenty of Star Wars-inspired drinks to pique the interest of any sci-fi nerd. The decor reminds me of a vendor's comic-con booth, complete with a life-size (though a little short for a...) stormtrooper guarding the trailer. I think if you're here for straight up coffee, while they have basics like espresso shots, cappuccinos, etc, it might not quite meet your standards, as they seem more into the fanservicey drinks. Mind you, they have them, but don't come in with like NoFi levels of expectations. Staff is nice, though. The barista offered to make a pup cup for Bucky, and even sold me on a slice of chocolate chip banana bread, which I took home and enjoyed later that evening. I ordered the Brewbacca, a (dark mocha latte, vanilla cold foam, Cocoa Puffs). It tasted straight up like chocolate milk, and this was after giving the cup a good stir. I didn't hit a coffee taste until midway through. It reminded me of the 1990s, having a glass of chocolate milk after school, the kind made with chocolate syrup, not the powder. I'm not sure if the menu images were made (or augmented) with AI. The photos of the drinks look real but the backgrounds look AI, and that's not something I'm a fan of. But since I'm not 100% sure, that's why I'm keeping it at 4 stars instead of 3. Overall, my goal is to try as many coffee spots at least once, and I have no regrets regarding my visit.
