Calling all Star Wars nerds... Your coffee truck awaits you. This truck in San Antonio is amazing no matter what level of Star Wars fan you are and even if you're not at all. First: The coffee drinks and muffins are delicious! We shared an iced banana bread latte and the flavor was next level. Chocolate chip muffin hit the spot. Absolutely delicious products! Next: The decor...holy Stormtrooper is it fun! It's incredible. Know what else is incredible? The owners. We met Jens and his two sons (hoping to meet his wife Nelda next time). We got to spend a lot of time talking with Jens and his boys. They're originally from Hamburg, Germany and have been in San Antonio for four years. The most fantastic thing ever happened during our visit: Jens invited us for a sneak peek of his brick & mortar Star Wars museum/gallery that will be opening soon. The coffee truck sits in front of it (off to the side of the lot). I was only allowed to take one picture inside the gallery---which is totally understandable. I got a snap of Han Solo frozen in carbonite, so check my pics for it. It was such an honor to have been invited inside the gallery that's just about ready to go. Jens had several handmade dioramas and the depictions of Star Wars movies are out of this world. I can tell you that Galactic Grind will be a stop for us every time we're in San Antonio. It's nice to feel like we've made a new friend who just happens to make great drinks and beautiful artwork.

I had been wanting to try this place for a while. What better day to visit than May the 4th! Because of the date, they had a special event and it was so worth the drive and the wait in line. There was so much going on with so many people dressed up and in character that the line/ wait time flew by! My daughter was in awe of all the characters in costume! So much fun and lovely ambiance! I ordered the Han Brewlo and it was the perfect afternoon pick me up! It's a cookies and cream latte and it wasn't too sweet! It was delicious! I also ordered my sister an Americano and she said it was good coffee! I will definitely be returning! If you're a Star Wars fan it's a must try! It's a coffee "truck" btw! Not an actual coffee shop. Parking is limited.

This place seems primarily for the novelty décor and themed experience, also.. expect a bit of a wait given the concept. However, the wait time for simple drinks was significantly longer than anticipated, and the overall ordering process felt quite disorganized. We decided to stop by after seeing the business featured on TikTok. My husband is a big Star Wars fan, so we thought this would be a fun coffee truck to check out while we were in town. When we arrived, there was a large crowd. Unfortunately, it was difficult to tell who was in line to order versus who was waiting for drinks, as people were scattered with no clear direction or queue. While ordering, I asked if the Light Side Latte could be made sugar-free, as the menu indicated sugar-free options were available. The staff member taking my order seemed unsure and initially told me no, before another employee stepped in to clarify. My husband ordered the Dark Side Latte. Suggestions for improvement: 1. Staff training: Team members should be more familiar with the menu and confident when taking orders. This helps ensure accuracy and creates a better customer experience and doesn't make them look incompetent. 2. Line organization: Establish a clearer ordering line. Parked vehicles were blocking the natural flow, which contributed to the confusion. 3. Drink wait times: We waited over 30 minutes for two standard drinks. Streamlining the drink-making process would greatly improve efficiency. 4. Operational focus during rushes: Stepping away during peak service to film social media content left the remaining staff overwhelmed and slowed service further. As a fellow business owner, I can see the potential here. The theme and concept are creative and appealing, but some operational adjustments would make a big difference. Regarding the drinks themselves, while visually fun, they lacked a strong coffee flavor. The espresso tasted weak and watery, with milk being the dominant taste. Offering cold foam instead of whipped cream might elevate the drinks and make them feel less like dessert-style beverages. I understand the business appears to be fairly new, and with some refinements to workflow, training, and product consistency, this could become a much smoother and more enjoyable experience.

Galactic Grind Coffee is so much fun, and their Matcha is delicious. I got the light side matcha. I also love that they offer pup cups! It made for a happy girl.

Great experience. Jens was great. He provided us props for photo opportunities. He gave us a lightsaber and other items to take photos with. I ordered the biscotti latte which was good and it was $9 usd and my fiancé ordered a Caramel latte for $ 6.50 usd. They sell stickers but there brand sticker is free. Overall the experience was great.

This review has been overdue. Last month, after an early valentine's lunch, my aunt and uncle went…read moreoff in search of aguas frescas and mangonadas nearby while my cousin and I hunted for a dessert spot that was a little different. that spontaneous search led us to Just Smash'em--and it turned out to be a sweet find. The concept is simple but appealing: fun, unique combinations of sweet treats that lean slightly toward the lighter side. Think açaí bowls, waffles, and snackable options that could easily double as breakfast or a light meal. I ordered the Berry Good Bowl with açaí, oat milk, strawberries, blueberries, banana, pineapple, granola, almonds, and Nutella. In hindsight I could've skipped the banana and granola, but it was still delicious. The fruit tasted fresh, the sweetness was balanced, and the açaí base held up surprisingly well on the drive home. My cousin went for the Belgian waffle with banana and Nutella--the waffle he has been searching for in the first place--and it did night disappoint. Service was warm and patient while we navigated the menu, and we even got to chat briefly with David, the young lady went. He shared that the business started as a food truck before growing into this standalone shop. The nice young ladies at the counter even offered us to take a flower from their vase of pink carnations for the Valentines. It's a cozy spot with a welcoming I've, even with yea small arts-and-crafts area for kids that makes it feel like a neighborhood hangout. A fun kitty dessert stop when you're craving something sweet but a bit different. We'll definitely be back to try more.
