I recently posted a review the night we came home to intermittent air conditioning as the unit was on the last leg of its 24 year life and 85 degree temps in our home. As my previous review explains, my initial contact with their dispatch and Randy who it turned out was the owner was off the charts which is why I posted before they even arrived on site. And, as I mentioned, I would do a follow up after the installation was complete.. The next morning(Sunday), Randy called to let me know he was en route and arrived a short time later and time. Although he was not supposed the be the tech this morning, he took the job to relieve another tech who had a long night and family obligations the next day which I certainly thought was admirable, being the owner. He took me on the roof to test look over the unit and test the Freon. Clearly there were problems as the Freon was low and there were visible leaks. Not to mention the unit was 24 years old. We turned the unit on and it immediately blew smoke in the house through the ducts and was shot. He quickly notified me this was not safe and we opened windows and aired out the residence. Randy probably could have mad ea quick buck on a leak check and other costly items but he didn't. He notified us that could be done if desired but given the age of the unit and its obvious date condition, this could be a money pit. Again the unit was installed in 1994. Not a bad run. So we shut the unit down and Randy disconnected it. We did measurements to calculate the square footage and suitable unit. Afterward, Randy we picked a suitable unity and scheduled the install. We also scheduled a duct cleaning and sanitation for the following day at Randy' suggestion. He gave us a discount on that and did not charge to come out at all. He also offered to register the warranty with Trane and bring it to us so no warranties are voided and after the installation, which was cool. Also, he called a tech to bring a mobile AC unit to us to cool and make the living room and kitchen livable. Maybe this is a common thing other companies do for their customers without AC but I highly doubt it. With some health concerns, this was very kind of them and was very comfortable, surprisingly. Following day / Day of installation First off, when you schedule anything with them as I discovered, their dispatch calls when their guys are at their site getting tools and materials and lets you know that they will be on their way and on both days they came out, they were prompt and presentable. All these gentlemen wear the same. clean uniforms with their names on them so you who they are and where their from. If i could recommend one thing for piece of mind, is if dispatch would let you know the names of the crew coming out. That aside, there wasn't any concerns letting the techs, Wesley, Ivan and Jose in our residence to do what they needed to do. Wesley arrived early as I was on the roof trimming back trees from the AC unit and quickly introduced himself and got to work. Ivan and Jose arrived right after and got to work. The crane arrived a short time later, set up and the old unit was gone. He secured and lifted the new unit into place and they go to work! Throughout the day, they worked, explained basically everything they were doing and kept us well informed throughout. In talking to them throughout the day, all the guys were really good people. They made it clear what they were doing throughout the day and why. They must have a bathroom in one of the trucks because nobody ever asked to use the restroom! They installed the unit with no problems, aside from fuses for the heat strips that obviously weren't an emergency in August. They installed the thermostat, no problem and then came inside and Wesley explained how to use it and how it may be different from the old unit and we may want to keep it cooler than we previously did. Ivan let me know he would be back with Jose to clean and sanitize the ducts. We thanked them and they left. Within less than 3 hours the house was cool and the unit is very quiet. Day after installation: Monique who was as sweet as can be every time I spoke with her called and let me know her guys were getting tools and materials and would be on their way. They arrived, set up drop cloths to catch any debris or mess and removed all the AC grills in ever room. They hooked up a huge vacuum and blew co2 into the vents to clean and then sanitize afterward to clean and make the scent of the ducts pleasant. Ivan and Jose showed me first hand how much debris came out of the ducts and the previously white and clean filter that was used to clean the ducts. Pretty impressive how much debris and other that was removed. I Randy also notified us he'd register our unit to make sure no warranties are void. Great bunch of guys you can let in your home with no concerns - nice piece of mind and great communication from their office. Thank you Randy, Jose, Ivan and Wesley. Solid bunch of guys!! read more

Our A/C has been giving us a problem for years when it is super hot (which it is here in Vegas) and/or a little humid. Basically, our unit draws too much power and trips our fuse. Over the years, other A/C companies came out and I asked them why this keeps happening and why we have to keep resetting our fuses. They looked at the fuse box and said everything was ok. I had enough of this constant issue the other night and called my home warranty company who scheduled Randy from On The Spot Air to come out. I was super impressed at how professional, friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and honest Randy was. Unlike other companies I've had out in the past, he explained everything in detail in layman's terms and didn't mind if I watched or asked questions. He addressed our issue and highly recommended replacing our breakers (and fuses) because electricians told him that if you have to reset your breakers more than 5 times, they're most likely done and could be a potential fire hazard. Mind you, we reset our breakers 5 times the night before he came out and countless times over the years. I can't tell you how many times I mentioned our breaker issue to other A/C companies who didn't take me seriously. Randy installed a hard start kit that should lower our power bills AND give us a few more years before the compressor totally fails (which will only then be covered by our home warranty company). As our unit is older, I will take advantage of their yearly service plan. If you're looking for professional, friendly, knowledgeable, honest, courteous and prompt company I HIGHLY recommend On The Spot Air. Response time alone from this company is worthy of 10 starts. I might sound exaggerated here, but I'm going to be true and honest about this experience. To start, Politeness and kindness is something you don't see a lot of now a days. Hence, the first impression you'll get with this guys is "I'm glad, it's them that I called and not someone else" Randy and Kyle came at the time they said they'll be here. Diagnosed and walked me through and helped me understand what was going on. Randy didn't stop unless it was all clear to me. He explained everything sooo well, even drew me an illustration to give me a clearer picture. It was late at night (passed midnight) and the moment he knew that it was something he couldn't finished that night. He didn't just go an extra mile to manifest the love and care this company has towards their customers. He drove 21 miles one way and another 21 back here just to bring us a portable AC after knowing I have kids. Being a father himself, he knew that kids wouldn't be comfortable sleeping on a Vegas summer night w/o AC. That is something you rarely, or would never expect from a service guy. Randy and Kyle came back first thing in the morning. Like how pros should be, resolved the problem. Left the area nice and clean. Tested everything that needs to be tested. Made sure everything works as they should. What's amazing is, the price I ended up paying is lower than what was quoted originally. Believe me when I say, they were heaven sent. According to Benjamin Franklin, "honesty is the best policy," and this is a creed that applies to Randy and On the Spot Air. Over the last few days when temperatures have 100+teen, Randy, who was appointed by my homeowners warranty, came to my house to re-assess what was a already known to CHW and myself that the compressor was grounded and un-repairable. Instead of waiting for CHW to decide when and how to repair or replace my system, BTW, repair was impossible but I couldn't tell by CHW's attitude, so we decided to install a new AC system, the old system was 21, years old. I paid Randy for the new system and labor and hope that CHW will re-reimburse me for my expense. We made an appointment for 6:00 AM, Thursday, July 16, 2020, the earlier the better because attics get hot quickly during the day. Randy and his able assistant worked straight for 7 hours until they finished installing evaporative coils on the attic and a brand new 5 ton, 14 SEER, TRANE AC. Both my wife and are in our 70s and she had open heart surgery so the 94 degrees excessive heat inside the house made it unlivable. When Randy saw the conditions in our house, he loaned us a portable AC that cooled the first floor and allowed us to sleep, well, on the floor for a few days. The portable AC was a blessing for my wife, Chico, my dog and myself. Randy explained all the technical installation details in easy to understand language. I commend Randy and his able assistant, his son, for a job well done and on a timely manner. It shows when people care about other people and when honesty is the best policy. Give them a call. I cannot say enough good things about On the Spot Air! Randy, Kyle and Ivan were very professional, friendly and explained everything to you. I had another AC company through a home warranty company. That company was the worst company I have ever dealt with. After they came out for the third time in three days, and still couldn't fix the unit, we had our landlord hire On the Spot Air to fix the air conditioning unit. After Randy inspected the unit, he let us know that we could spend almost $2,000 in repairs but since the unit was over 20 years old, we would be wasting our money. We really needed a new unit and should use the $2000 toward a new unit. Luckily our landlord agreed. Randy ordered the unit and the next day we had a new Trane on our roof. Randy and his crew, Kyle and Ivan, had the old unit removed and the new unit on in about 5 hours total!! They explained everything to us and showed us how to use the new thermostat. Randy even supplies new metal stands, etc. to put the AC unit on. Everything is new and works beautifully. We are so pleased with Randy and his company, On the Spot Air. I would highly recommend this company to anyone. Very reliable, on time, etc. You will not be disappointed. Even the office personnel, Emily, is very friendly and calls you to let you know they are on the way and follows up afterward to make sure everything went smoothly. On The Spot Air returned our call within an hour. Only one other HVAC company called back out of the 10 contacted, and that one about an hour after On The Spot Air had made an appointment with us for the same day. Randy was polite, courteous, knowledgeable, and friendly. He diagnosed the problem that 2 other companies never mentioned, and showed us where neither company sealed up the side of the unit before leaving. Randy found a coolant leak that both prior companies failed to find, and showed us how a recommended coil cleaning would have caused the rust on the coils to degrade the system integrity even more. With the temperature approaching 108, he made sure we had a place to go for the night until a new unit could be installed the next afternoon. He made sure we were kept informed of everything that was to be done before starting the installation, and during the installation process. He stayed throughout the installation, and made sure the unit worked properly, and we understood how to use the new thermostat that came with the unit. His crew was very knowledgeable and professional, and cleaned up after themselves. They even covered their shoes every time they entered the house. On the Spot Air came through and replaced both our units during the summer. Randy and Kyle showed great customer service and professionalism during and after the replacement. I felt bad for them being in the hot attic working, they worked hard and didn't complain. Since it was out first replacements from the original units, Randy held our hand throughout the entire process and made sure we were happy with our purchase. He also gave us good advice regarding which unit would work best in our home. The biggest surprise was the changes made to our power bill. Randy stated that we would see a huge change in our power bill with the high efficiency units and he was right for the 3.5 ton and 5 ton replacement I have seen a savings of over $100+ dollars a month (kinda why this review took a while). Their service was excellent and we are very pleased with On the Spot Air. I would highly recommend them and have been to anyone looking for A/C service repair or replacement without all the nickel and diming and headaches. Megan is amazing as well very professional and courteous I didn't feel rushed talking to her and she took the time to explain a few things I was unsure about. My air conditioner broke on June 12th and I called my home warranty Choice Home and they sent out a technician on Tuesday, June 13th. This Technician was Josh from On The Spot Air and he checked the unit only to tell me that it was NOT covered on the warranty (big surprise). He then told me that he'd send a Representative out to give me a quote, I made an appointment for that afternoon along with two other Companies to give me a quotes. On The Spot came in with the best price and availability and promised to have it installed the next day. By 7 P.M. the next day my new air conditioner was up and running. I was lucky and only went 2 nights with no air. Josh once again was the technician and I can't begin to say how nice and efficient that he is. I also scheduled for them to come out and clean my ducks and this past Friday, June 23rd both Josh and another Technician came out to clean my ducks and Josh installed a new thermostat. As they were cleaning the ducts I had a visit from Randy the owner of the company who gave me my 10 year warranty and a box of See's candy as a thank you. We recently moved across country, to Henderson NV. We needed our HVAC systems checked out, and called Trane (manufactured the A/C & Coil). Trane referred us to On the Spot Air. Randy, our HVAC Technician, was (is) very knowledgeable, an assiduous professional, punctual, cooperative, personable, and efficient! He had no problems with taking the time to explain what he was doing, but was at ease answering a million questions, and offering sound advice! He also explained/suggested how things should and should not be - without any pressure to sell you things; He only made suggestions of what we may need, probably need including healthy options, and what would be a waste of our money. I needed a new condenser. It had been confirmed by 2 of my friends that could repair but not install a/c units. I paid 3 companies evaluate my system over a 3 day period (Thurs, Fri, Sat) and chose the one with the best presentation. Without naming names they were within the top 5 of the yelp list as they should be. They were great. Then on Sunday morning after I made my decision, Randy calls. I had called maybe 10 companies during the weekend and did not answer the phone when Randy originally called. My mind was already made up, I was tired of paying for diagnoses plus they all kept saying the same thing. But Randy said he was in the area and could stop by. I said ok. I have to say WOW!! On the spot was spectacular! Our air went out late on Saturday afternoon and when I called they were here in 30 minutes and checked it out for us, it was old unit and we decided to go with a new unit. The next day was Father's Day and they said owner would come and go over things for us but I said it was ok to wait till Monday , so Randy came on Monday morning and went over the units and costs then. We chose a 5 ton Trane and he said some of them were really more than we needed and he gave us a really good deal on the one we bought. We chose On the Spot for our air and heating replacement. Their price was competitive and Randy did a thorough inspection to make sure we were getting the right size and model of air conditioning and heating units before offering a quote. The installation team came right on time and worked fast and efficiently. Randy was there to inspect and to be sure we were satisfied. That was two months ago. Today we had them back to clean our air ducts and vents along with the dryer duct. Once again they were on time and efficient. Wesley and his helper did a great job and were immaculate in making sure all was back in place and clean. We highly recommend On the Spot for your heating and cooling. My home has a very old system. I am surprised it is still running. Knock on wood. Every six months I have to have an HVAC company come out and service it. There is usually something that needs to be replaced. Everyone that has looked at my unit has tried to sell me on a new system, but not On The Spot Air. Six months ago, I had A/C issues and my home warranty sent out Randy from On The Spot Air. I will not go into detail explaining the horrible customer service with my home warranty, but Randy saw my frustration and more than made up for it. He was very sympathetic, informative and professional. Because of how impressed I was with his customer service, I just set up maintenance service with them and Ivan came out yesterday. On The Spot Air saved our lives! We had a HVAC system installed by another (name redacted) AC firm & had to call them back numerous times. A plumber suggested we have the system inspected by a neutral 3rd party. During the On the Spot Air system inspection & 'summer tune up' Phap, the On The Spot Air technician, found major problems with the 'new system' (installed in July 2015) ...the system as installed (by name redacted) would have failed a building inspection because of an improperly installed flue. It was allowing Carbon Monoxide to flow back into the structure & a lack of a proper return plenum air - no wonder we were suffering from headaches & fatigue. He explained what we had to do to get the original contractor to make the corrections & repairs needed to bring the system up to code. From now on we call On The Spot Air. After living in Las Vegas for just over 50 years I have dealt with many, too-many 'fly by night' A/C companies. Our downstairs A/C unit stopped putting out cold air and we filed a claim with CHW and they immediately had On The Spot call us. The Office Manager "Megan" was absolutely the most professional and kindest person we have spoken to in YEARS! She immediately sent out OTS's most experienced technician, "Randy" and he was here in less than an hour. He took a long look at our roof-mounted A/C unit and found a cracked condenser pipe. He took pictures of the damage and the leak and showed me the problem and let me listen as he explained the problem to the warranty company. I have NEVER experienced better A/C service in all my years in Las Vegas! I am going to add my 5-star review to all the others because On The Spot Air truly deserves it. This company has been an absolute gem for the past two years as both of our a/c units have died. It's a painful thing to replace two units but On The Spot Air has made it less dreadful by being the absolute best a/c company you will ever find. They are trustworthy and take great pains to ensure that your trust is never violated. They don't just tell you what's wrong, they show you what the problem is and explain how it affects your unit. I appreciate that every person on the crew is polite, knowledgeable, and efficient. Pricing is fair and competitive and we got a Trane A/C unit for a great deal. A/C went out very late at night, put in a request for a quote, expected to be called in the morning... within 10 minutes Randy called to see what was up... when I explained what happened he stated he could have someone out within the hour, due to the late hour I was afraid I would be charged outrageous fee's... he stated the service call was a flat rate regardless of time, with the exception of the weekend. Nguyen arrived timely and was quickly able to get my unit up and running again. He suggested a few items I should have done before next season to prevent any further issues... the final bill was right in line within 10% above and below quotes received via email after the work was performed by others that didn't call.
