When we were remodeling our house we decided to future-proof it by installing a smart home system, and I'm very glad we hired Sam at Onboard IT tech to do the job. Sam is by far the best contractor who has worked for us. When we first met, he took time with us, going over all the options and making sure we would get exactly what we wanted, and he had no problem adjusting the contract when we changed our minds a couple of times. Because of another contractor, our remodel had stalled for over a year, and Sam was very understanding about having to pause the work. He even changed out the components for others that were more up to date, better and less expensive. In fact, he saved us a lot of money on components, including a great projector for our media room... I never thought we'd have anything as fantastic as that media room, but Sam made it happen. It's amazing; press one button on a remote (or say "movie time" to Alexa) and the screen comes down, the projector turns on, and you're all set to stream anything using that one remote. We have several automated lights, security cameras all around the house, control over heating and AC, speakers in all the ceilings, video doorbell,all accessible on our phones. Everything is fully integrated and so easy to use. It's so marvelous to come home and tell your lights to turn on, to have music playing through the house, and to feel safe with the 360 degree security system. Sam programmed everything we asked for, and made sure we truly had the smart home of our dreams. He respected our budget and never pressured us to spend more than we wanted to. Overall the quote was reasonable,and the work was done perfectly, he was always available to answer questions by phone or text; if he didn't answer immediately, he'd always call back within 10 minutes. Bottom line, Sam is someone you can trust and he knows what he's doing. He knows how to diagram a surveillance system for the proper coverage, he uses top flight equipment, and his crew is supremely professional. You cannot do better than to hire Onboard for your video surveillance needs. Here's proof: after he commenced work on the eight camera set-up our condo association hired him to install, he discovered that, instead of needing to use wireless transmitters, they could actually connect the cameras via hardwire. He informed us the job would cost three grand less than his original bid. That's right, he didn't try to pull a fast one by selling us gear we didn't need, he played it straight. How many vendors can you say that about? Not many. Now, the system is functioning beautifully. We have already filed one police report using crystal clear 4K video and the cops were so impressed, they've turned to us for help when other crimes in the neighborhood have been committed. The entire complex loves this system and we are so glad that Sam and Onboard were our choice of vendor. read more

Had an appointment with Sam to give me a quote for some camera repairs for the apartment community I manage in downtown Long Beach. This was the 4th company I had met with, yet he was the only person to identify the real issue. Others came in and looked at the camera system for 5-10 minutes. Sam is a true pro. First off, he responds to inquires for new customers and current customers, as I was in both of these categories in the past few weeks. I relied on YELP to find a surveillance camera expert and called the top 4 rated companies per YELP in my area the SFV. 3 out of the 4 answered or called back but ONLY Sam from OnBoard IT Tech followed through from start to finish. From my first inquiry call to an appointment estimate meeting to installation. The others...never heard back from them. After install, I switched my internet provider and had a hiccup with the access to viewing my system on my cell. Called Sam, he answered and came out to fix the issue reconfiguring the internet access at no charge. Folks, it is how it starts. If you get ignored when your buying you move on to the next option, if you can't even give me a bid, how are you going to service me when the job plus done? Let me make it easy for you.
