Staff/manager is always rude here. A lot of the clothes have stains or a weird odor with prices too comparable to just buying brand new.

Came in to look around & ended up buying several outfits for the grandkids. Was impressed with the selection, pricing and the way the store was set up. They have clothing for boys & girls from preemie sizes & up. Plus a nice selection of toys, strollers, stuffed animals & more. We recommended the place to our daughter in law to check out for children's clothing. Nice location on Westheimer. read more

I have came here for the past few weeks since I'm moving and Dalia was actually the first one to be nice attitude and greeting feeling welcome . Looks happy to be working there and giving positive environment. As well shout out to the lady who helped me see if they have the black fury crocs . I always recommend this locations out of all just because they show interest in your items and not make you feel bad for selling used items . First time made $60 Second time made $40 and this last time I made $5 but again worth every trip . read more

I was really excited to check out Once Upon a Child, thinking it would be a great spot for affordable, gently used kids' clothes. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed. Many of the clothes had stains or ripped tags, and the prices were just as high as buying new clothes online. You can easily find better deals and discounts at stores online like Carter's, especially considering some of the used Carter's clothes on their racks are priced as if they're new. To top it off, the store smelled like mold, which was really off-putting. I definitely won't be back. I was greeted when I walked in and the girls were nice but the quality of the clothes I would not even put on my dog. read more

This was my first time in the store. I called ahead to ask questions about selling some items and they were very helpful and patient. When I walked in, everyone said "Welcome!" which was very nice and Dalia was the young lady that took care of my items to sell. She was so sweet and very accommodating and professional. This is the worst location the have. I have tried coming to sell 3 times and every time I come they're not accepting things. They don't even answer the phones so I can't even speak to someone before trying to come. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. And all 3 times, the staff is always rude. Always always rude. I've reviewed this store before and I stand by my words as a consumer. However I recently went in to sell a few items with them and this review is based on that experience. First the process was speedy and that was the only saving grace here. I brought in several name brand items (Lacoste, vineyard vines, and Ralph Lauren) all items were like new most had never been worn. I also brought in a few jeans (wrangler, Levi's and Abercrombie) same story. The young lady creating the offer seemed to be inexperienced in doing so and often referred to her colleague for pricing. I did notice when it came to the pricing on the short sleeve collared shirts I brought in HER COLLEAGUE INFORMED HER OF THE PRICE TO OFFER, and she retorted "YES BUT I CAN OFFER LESS RIGHT, I CAN JUST OFFER THIS AMOUNT." That was an immediate red flag. The young lady also did not put my items back in my basket neatly she just threw them in there in a disheveled manner. I also noticed that when I inquired about the items she couldn't accept she could only give a reason for one item the rest she glossed over. I was also informed they don't take boot cut jeans, good to know, but off since we live in Texas. When it came down to the actual offer, I was offered $10 for a pair of Abercrombie jeans, Levi jeans, and button up Ralph Lauren shirt. I WOULD NOT SELL HERE! TAKE YOUR CHANCES ON EBAY or any other reseller! When it was time to leave I turned down the offer, and informed the person I was with we could always try a different store. To which the young lady cuts into the conversation with "If you're just trying to get rid of this there is a goodwill down the street, where you just give it away for free" which I found that to be very rude. I have purchased many items from this store, none that were the brands or quality of what I brought in but is interesting to see that the process works on the whim of whomever is reviewing your items. There doesn't appear to be a standard pricing system or acceptance guidelines. If there is I definitely did not experience this. All in all my advice it to TRY SOMEWHERE ELSE WHEN IT COMES TO SELLING YOUR CLOTHING! read more

Love this store! The racks are always exceptionally organized by gender, size, item type, and even by color inside each section. Even though they're secondhand, the clothes are in great shape--no rips, tears, stains, etc. They must be really picky about what they buy and sell. Some of the items even have the original tags on them. They're constantly having additional sales where you can walk out of there with items for a dollar! There's no use buying brand new baby clothes when your little one is going to grow out of them so quickly. I'm glad I have a clean and organized Once Upon A Child nearby so I can stock up without spending hundreds of dollars. read more

Liked, but didn't love this location. Very well stocked with great items, but overall more pricey than the other locations. It was hard to find items under $6.50. Even simple Cat&Jack items were marked 6.50&8.50, which is pretty close to what they're sold as in store brand new. This store had the most limited clearance selection I have seen. In the girls, no pants, shorts, or shoes were marked clearance at all. Limited dresses were marked clearance. This is unlike the other stores that had yellow tags spread out through everything in the stores. There were more dated options found here and less current trendy clothes in comparison to other locations. This store is VERY cramped. Couldn't walk down the first aisle with my basket. On the plus side, the customer service was the best out of all the locations I've been to. Probably won't be back, I was looking for better deals than I found. read more

I like the store as far as neatness and customer service, but I can honestly buy new items from Burlington's at the price of their used items. Also, I will NEVER be taking my used baby items there. You definitely WILL NOT get a good price for your items. I had a perfect 5-in-1, unused stroller (even they said it looked brand new), a baby Einstein play mat with all attachments, an unused doorway swing, and a mesh car seat cover still in the box and they offered me 36 bucks. If I wasn't moving and I had time to find someone expecting to give those items too I would have. I would have felt better giving it away than giving it to them for $36, knowing that all of those items will be sold for 4xs what they gave me. It's absolutely robbery!! read more

Love this place. Nice, friendly and helpful staff. Very patient with me when I was having issues with my credit card even though the entire store had lots of people for the grand opening. I love the fact that I can bring stuff that does not fit my daughter anymore or she doesn't play with and get money back for it. We left happy with the great fines we purchased. Our go to place for toys, clothes, books, games etc. and to sell our stuff we no longer need or want anymore. So glad that this location opened up it's closer and more convenient for us. read more

Tonight my sister in law and 12 year old visited the Store. During our visit we were standing by the cashier section and my 12-year-old picked up a squishy 399 toy that was next to the cash register he said "oh look, can I have....." before he finished his sentence the young petite cashier lady interrupted him and very abruptly said he could not play with those and put it down. As were leaving I did tell her that next time before reacting to a situation to observe to see if they are honestly playing with a toy or asking their parents if they could have it. He never walked away from the area or spend more than 20 seconds next to it. She did not address his parent but rudely spoke to my 12 year old. She could've also observed as walking through the whole entire store noticing he was well mannered never playing with anything or touching anything prior to walking up. Wants something was said to her she blamed the store manager stating that they said no one can touch them or play with them. She continued to argue and made some poor her whatever excuse Again he never played with anything the whole time we were there and only picked up the item to show me and had his hand for less than 30 seconds. After spending over $100 in 25 minutes of being there we will not be returning. read more

This is the cleanest and most organized location that I have been to. It's a great place to trade in for infant and toddler clothing. Sometimes they have sales that are 15 onsies for $10, which is a great deal. The customer service is good and they always greet you when you walk in. I don't suggest trying to sell back items Friday through Sunday because they are always incredibly busy. read more

Went in today for the first time and it was just ok. The shoes they had were goodwill quality mostly. The clothes were nothing great. No one greeted me when I entered the store. Just stares. I picked out a little boys gap shirt that was new but didn't get it. They did have a clearance sale that was pretty good. 70% off ticketed clothing. Probably won't be returning. read more

She tells me it will be two hours for two small bags of clothes to be priced to be bought, She says computers are down. Then tell me it would be better just to go to another store. Really? I have been to this location many of times I have never had any problems there clothes have always been a good variety I have twins and they grow supper fast so any reasonable prices I can find I'm all there for.. however when I went this weekend I noticed they don't have much of a variety of 18 or 24 month boy clothes.. most where winter and I also noticed the prices where way higher than I noticed before.. I bought 3 items and it came out to $30... which is pretty Ridiculous considering y'all are a USED clothing store.. I ended up going to Ross where I bought NEW clothes for WAY less I'm supper disappointed in this location I'm not sure if y'all price because the area but the clothes y'all sell are USED and they are not all in that great of condition for 3 items to be $30 I won't be returning to this location The one on 1960 seems much better and more reasonable priced read more

I have been here previously but decided to go back because it had new owners apparently. I sold some items and recieved very little. Not sure if the policy changes as far as them supposed to give you 50% of what they will sell it for. Sold 16 items (clothing/shoes/coats, toys and diaper genie) and received $26. That's less than $2 an item. I'm guessing some of the clothing was probably in the pennies. Some of the items I sold were in new condition. Now if their resell price reflected their buying price a little better, I'd understand. Of course I don't expect to get much but this is pretty ridiculous. It truly wasn't worth the gas it took me to drive all the way out there. Ive sold items plenty of times before (I did it for a solid year on eBay) so I have an idea of what used things go for. You're better off just donating your stuff...unless you happen to live super close and have nothing else to do for a good hour. As a side note, I overheard the employee explaining to a new employee their rationale for what they take and don't take....apparently if an item appears to be from more than two years ago (out of season????) they won't take it. Soooooooo apparently baby clothes go out of style now. I didn't realize there were drastic trends in infant clothing (onesies, pajamas, dresses, shorts...seems pretty straightforward to me) To sum it up, PENNIES for your stuff people. PENNIES! Seriously, PENNIES! And then they turn around and try and sell it in their store for so much more. read more

I recently just visited the westheimer location and this was my first time taking in items that I have laying round the house that my kid does not use any more. I did bring in somethings that was almost brand new because my kid never wore them, however I was expecting to receive more than 20% for polo shirts and timberland boots and brand new tennis that my kid never got the change to wear, especially when I was looking around the store and thing seem to be a little over priced for some things that are second hand items! I will choose another way to sell my things and will not be bring anything to sell here anymore.! read more

Ive been to all but 3 of the once upon a child locations in the greater Houston Area. This has been the least favorite of mine. This is not due to selection, they had a pretty decent selection for the store only being open for 6 days. it was clean, but the entrance has way too much stuff blocking the passageway, which im pretty sure is a fire code violation lol. Im sure they are still trying to figure out where to put things, but this is the smallest OUAC I have ever been too, and again all the walkers and strollers crammed by the front door was a bit obnoxious. Secondly the cashier I had was nice, but not friendly if that makes sense. She was obviously new, so I get she had things to learn, but I was CLEARLY the 2nd person in line, and idk maybe im invisible to some people?? but she CLEARLY asked the lady BEHIND me "next". I had to step in front of the lady and let her know - sorry I was actually here first. She then began to scan my items and I said - do you need my phone number so I can get point, and she said "yeah" she never got my phone number but told me 1 moment so she could keep scanning my items. She then rang me up, and kept my debit card. I had to literally REACH over the counter to get my card back which she had sat down on the counter. I then asked her, I asked you could I give you my phone number for points. She again was nice, and said- oh sorry you should have put the number in on the pad below before I swiped your card. I honestly thought she was joking because I literally asked her if she needed it, and she never took it. I spent a total of $45 dollars and she stated "the next time you come in il give you some points" um ok idk how that's gonna work bc chances are she wont be working, and if she is Id bet my money she either wouldn't remember me, or she would give me 1 point as if that added up to my purchase which I kept my receipt, bc I can tell she is a bit lost. Went April 27th 2018 to sell sons old clothes. Received call that quote was ready. Went the next day April 28th 2018, to find out my things were giving away, money, sons belonging, and also purse. The story is someone came in as me and they gave the person my things. Owner Nanette Holland had no idea who the person was, who was the employee who made the transactions, and refused to review her cameras. She spoke with me and said she would give me a call next day in regards to situation. Never received called, so I gave her a call. Spoke with her was extremely rude, and just kept saying file a police report, and it's under investigation. So, that's what's going on now. Still don't have my belongings, wasn't treated fair as a customer. This is the companies fault for giving my belongings away, not checking for proper identification. Also, not trying to resolve the issue, just trying to brush it away. I've filed police report, reported location, now I'm emailing corporate. I need this issue resolved fairly, and want to speak with someone in regards to the next steps. read more
