Over the July 4th Holiday Weekend, my air conditioning stopped working late Friday afternoon, but I was able to get a Monday appointment for a Technician to come to check out what was wrong. The Technician, Dawson Overberg, arrived at the scheduled time and was very professional and friendly explaining to me what went wrong and the repair that was needed! He checked and double checked all aspects of the repair he completed and patiently, as well as, courteously answered all of my questions.......and I had a lot, since my air conditioning unit was still under warranty. Dawson not only explained what the problem was, but he also offered good advice to keep my air conditiioning unit in great workng condition. This is the WORST HVAC company I have ever dealt with in my life. I purchased a TRANE SEER 18 from them after the owner's son said it would make 15% difference in my energy bills. They came out on July 6th, 2026 and put the system in. The first night I gave them a good review as they were here a long time and it was so hot. I have asked them to take this review down because they were anything but. They also used the review on the BBB without my permission. I called and spoke with Megan at their office and she stated that she would have to speak with Jay the office manager - who has never contacted me. Back to the install. We had problems the very FIRST night. The tech came out the next day and said they "forgot to tell " the other guy that they were low on refrigerant and LEFT us that way. We continued to have high humidity problems and they system never gets down to the temperature we want. Another tech came and said he fixed it and it "should get better" and it did not. Same problems. They sent back the owners son who said NO ONE sealed our duct work or returns so that was done. Same problem. Then they sent another tech who said our static air pressure was too high. SAME PROBLEM. Then I was told the owner Lucas Parker was the only one who could fix it and he was on vacation in CANADA and would be gone at least a week. The next week it was so hot in our house it was 82% humidity and I almost passed out. We went to Home Depot and bought a portable HVAC to be able to have some measure of comfort. The owner, who was aware we were having problems still waited several days after he got back to come over and look at it. He did give us a portable HVAC to use in our son's room as he could not even sleep in his room it was so hot. Lucas came over a few more times as NOTHING ever got better, and then started saying we already had a humidity problem. NO we did not. We had Elite Heating and Cooling for 12 years and NEVER had a single service call. The last time the owner was here was July 30th, and he change some settings on the thermostat and said he would ba back on the 31st. He never showed and has ghosted me ever since. Our house is musty, our doors are ALL sticking, the paint is peeling off the walls, and I have had a dry cough for the past month. My doctor now has me on an inhaler. I am watching our house be completely destroyed in real time while he goes on his merry way. Today is August 15, 2026 and our upstairs is 90 DEGREES. This is not including the humidity. I am out $18,000 and it makes me sick! SIDE NOTE: The BBB told me point blank that they do NOT care about consumer complaints, that these companies PAY to partner with them. If a company had a 1,000 complaints as long as they respond to them, even if they do not fix the problem, they still keep their A status. Also TRANE will NOT help you. They could care less. They tell you that you have to go through your dealer, that your warranty is WITH THEM. Which was NOT explained to me. Even if you get another Trane certified contractor, you have to pay for labor. I have a 10 year warranty for parts and labor as well as an extended warranty for refrigerant and it useless! I have never been so angry and disgusted at the same time! Highly DO NOT recommend this place. I kept getting the run around on when someone would be here and they never even showed up. I called and set up a time for them to come and look at my HVAC at 8:30am on Tuesday. Then they called me and left a voicemail saying they had to push back the time to 10:00am Tuesday due to a scheduling conflict. Then I had to call them back because that conflicted with my schedule, so we pushed it back to 3pm Tuesday. 3pm rolls around and no one shows up. 4:45pm I get a call saying they won't be coming out because the job before had a total HVAC replacement and they would be there for 4 more hours. She promised me that they would be out first thing Wednesday morning about 9:30. Today is Wednesday. She called me this morning and told me it would more than likely be around 10:30-11am since I'm 45 minutes away. 11am rolls around and no one is here. I call them and she says that the tech is moving and should be on his way. 11:40am is here and I get a call saying she hasn't heard from the tech that's supposed to be here and that the service manager will be heading my way in 30 minutes. I call at 12:35 (almost an hour later) to check to see where the tech was because at this point, he should be about 15 minutes out. She tells me she reaches out to the service manager who replies back that he's still in his meeting and will head my way as soon as he gets out. At this point I have been way too generous with this company and told them to not even bother coming. Not like they would've shown up anyway. read more

Our A/C went out in July, and One Choice Mechanical replaced the A coil (indoor evaporator coil), which was leaking freon. Everything worked great for a week, and then it stopped cooling again--on a Sunday in the middle of a heat wave. I called the office thinking I would have to leave a message, but to my surprise a rep picked up on the first ring--and told me they'd send someone out right away. Technician Joey was at our house within an hour! He found and fixed a previously unidentified leak (this time in the outdoor unit) at no additional charge. Five stars for the follow-up call! I'm only knocking off a star because the outdoor leak wasn't found the first time. We've used One Choice for years and are very happy with them. Highly recommend. read more

I couldn't say better things about this company. I was worried because my home warranty company picked them and I know home warranty companies are notorious for going with the cheapest bids. However, after first getting an independent quote for fixing my air conditioner with another company which wanted to charge me $8400 with a whole new system and no repair -- One Choice Mechanical solved my issue within the hour and had my place cooling again by just paying my $100 deductible and replacing the air compressor. Thank you and I am glad there are still honest companies that exist in the world!! :) read more

We finally chose to replace our 40 year old unit since it was going to cost so much to recharge, according to the tech who came to inspect the unit. The install went okay but two days later we noticed there was a leak in the ceiling directly below the new until. The condenser pump had failed and leaked through the floor and the downstairs ceiling. We called service and they came a few days later and determined the pump had been wired wrong which caused the pump to fail. Two days later we noticed the unit was not blowing cold air and once again called service. They came and said the unit was low on refrigerant, which probably didn't get filled during the install. They filled it and left saying to call if we had any problems. Unit worked great for three days then we noticed the unit ran constantly but never cooled below 78 degrees even though the it was only 83 degrees outside. So, we call service for the third time. The tech arrived a couple days later and said there was nothing wrong and that newer units were made to run constantly and we just needed more insulation. He made an adjustment so the unit would blow more, increasing the noise and still running 24/7. It is now reading 79 and it is only 83 outside. The tech didn't seemed at all concerned about the virus and took none of the COVID-19 safety precautions during his visit. At this point we are at a loss. A 40 year old system was able to cool the space reasonably well. Two install errors caused problems, one of which left our ceiling damaged. This is the absolute worst experience we have ever had and we still are having to install window units to keep the rooms below 79 degrees even on mild days. Basically we just threw away $6000 for nothing. read more

After speaking with five different contractors for a service call focused on a high electric bill, Lucas was the only one who fixed the problem by fixing the problem versus others want to sell a new system. We spoke late Friday. He offered to come out Saturday morning. "No service fee. Unit is under warranty. Part is in stock at his preferred supply house. We will have it fixed Monday" for the best price of the other 4 guys. Highly recommend Lucas and his senior tech, Anthony, who were both professional, prompt, and courteous. Saving him for all future work. Best part is he was recommended from one of the other four technicians for being the most knowledgeable about my future want of hydronic, radiant heating. If I could give this business a zero, I would. They certainly deserve it. They installed a new boiler at my house last year, and it has never been right. The boiler blows a fuse every several weeks, and usually at very inconvenient times. They have been here several times guessing at the problem, and they have no idea how to fix it. Their work on the piping to the boiler looks like a 5th grader did it. I have asked the owner to call me on several occasions, and he refuses to talk to me. Their customer service is non-existant. I get lip service but not any results. The problem has been there since it was installed, and now they refuse to fix it, and say that I have to pay them for service calls from now on. I HIGHLY ADVISE THAT YOU DON'T USE THIS COMPANY. They certainly don't know anything about boilers. read more

Lucas and his team have taken care of me professionally (commercial) and personally at our house for years. We added a mini split system that we installed ourselves, and didnt complete it correctly. Lucas sent Joey out this morning and he reflaired all fittings and charged the unit. He was efficient. He explained what was being done, and took great care of us again. HIGHLY recommend One Choice Mechanical. Our A/C was no longer blowing cold air. This had happened two years ago and we used them then, too, to add Freon. The technician advised it was the same problem. He gave us a price for more Freon, and also gave us quotes on replacements if that is what we chose to do. Our system is old and Freon is being banned. I had him look at our furnace because it was the original unit. It worked fine. My husband and I chose to go ahead and replace both units because there is a financing special for up to 60 months same as cash! We also had the relocate the unit to a more pleasing spot, and we had them clean the ductwork. The day if the install went beautifully. Ed and Derrick were courteous and on time. They graciously answered my many questions. Later in the afternoon, two more men showed up to clean the ductwork. They also were very friendly! Things I really appreciate: We felt the price was very fair. The 60 mo same as cash was a big selling point for the Trane unit. Friendly and timely service. They all wore covers over their shoes while in my house. I received a text with a picture of the company representative before they arrived! What a great safety measure! The crew was on in and out in the 8 hour timeframe just as promised. They walked us through the units and gave us tips for care. Taught us how to use the new digital, phone accessible thermostat. The warranty given was fantastic. And, if that isn't enough, one year from now, our first regular maintenance is free!! The next morning we heard a noise we hadn't heard the night before. We called the office and the installation manager arrived within a couple of hours. (Received a text with his pic too). In 5 minutes he corrected the rattle that was caused by something that needed tightening. No big deal. My husband is VERY pleased! They would love to replace or repair your units for thousands of dollars but don't bother asking them to do any minor little thing with your system that would save you thousands of dollars. Doing things "Their" way not your way is the only "Choice" your going to get. I wish people in this industry would stop robbing people and just do what the customer wants without their misguided advice and flat out dishonesty. Not only that I will NEVER NEVER NEVER use Angie's List as a source to hire Contractors again because they are totally corrupt allowing ratings and reviews for this company to be that high is obviously very very very suspicious and CORRUPT! read more

The company should change their name to "No Choice Mechanical ("NCM")" I contacted NCM to have them go out to a rental property I have in the area to check on an A/C unit which my tenant stating wasn't cooling properly. The phone rep stated she could have a technician at the property by 10a the following morning. I advised the rep that I was an out-of-state landlord and to contact me once the issue was accessed. By 2pm the following afternoon I had heard nothing from "NCM" and decided to reach out to my tenant. To my surprise, my tenant informs me that the technican had already come by and COMPLETED the work. COMPLETED?! I did not give NCM the authorization to proceed only to access. I am an informed consumer and wanted the opportunity to compare quotes. I immediately called NCM and was told that I owed $450.00; the cost of adding freon to the unit. Additionally, I was informed that this was a temporary fix due to a leak in the system and that they would waive the $450.00 price if I paid them nearly $2500.00 to REPLACE the unit! Of course I was livid. The owner, Lucas, accepted NO responsibility in the matter and merely suggested that he send his technican back to the property and REMOVE the freon that was added and "only" charge me a $130.00 service fee. This exorbitant fee was NEVER discussed when setting up the appointment. WHAT A JERK! NEVER NEVER use this company! NCM charges $78/lb for freon. I later found out their competitor Heating Advantage only charges $48/lb. They were next on the list to call for a quote but One Choice Mechanical, left me NO CHOICE! read more

I wish I could leave negative stars. If you're thinking about doing business with them, don't bother. September 2015 we paid $3600 for a Trane Mini Split to be installed in our family room. We had problems with it leaking the same day and techs had to come back and reroute the water line. As soon as the first warm day of 2016 arrived we started having problems again. We had condensation leaks three more times the last ruined a window sill. The company sent several techs all of which had a bad attitude about repairing the unit. They all stated it was running normal, outdoor temp of 89 and indoor temp of 76 with the unit set to max AC of 62 degrees. The unit even displayed an error code which my wife told a tech about and he blamed her for the code. Save yourself the headache and trouble of dealing with their company. We will be taking our future business elsewhere, I'd suggest the same for anyone reading this. read more
