I booked an appointment for 9-11am and THEY NEVER SHOWED OR CALLED! When I called at 11am, they said I was moved to 12-2pm. . NO CALL, NO COMMUNICATION!! I was told he's finishing a job and would come to me next. So, we were desperate and waited and at 2pm, SAME THING! NO ONE SHOWED. NO ONE CALLED!! Just a no show. Total scam company! The tech came out looked at my door and told me I needed a completely new everything. Charged me $80 and sent an email invoice stating that he did a full service on the entire door, roller, track and the sensors. Also states that he checked all wiring on the opener. He did NONE of these services! He was here less than 10 minutes and demanded payment on the spot. This is a complete scam and I would stay away from these crooks as far as you can get away! On the 8t 5 May 20 - recommended this company to my son's girlfriend Laura because her garage door would not open. Her car was stuck inside and she had several things to do the next day. She called them because they have 24 hour service even though it was after 7:00 pm and they said the technician would be there the next day, Wednesday morning at 7:00 am. The technician did not arrive on time and did not call her to say he was running late (20 minutes) and would not waive the $75 dollar fee. He fixed her garage door and offered her a new door for a discount price. I feel that the technician should have called her to let her know he was running late and from now on will not recommend anyone. They replaced my garage opener and did a wonderful job. I would think they would be anxious to do business in these times where businesses are not doing as good as they did before the virus. read more

Sometimes, you learn more about a business when things don't go as planned. I'll ONLY use One Clear Choice for all my garage door needs moving forward. We hired another company to install our new garage door openers about three years ago, and we had issue after issue. The original labor warranty expired, so we hired One Clear Choice to fix this other company's mistakes. They were knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. We recently had another issue with the logic board (beware of 2015-2017 LiftMasters because they have some serious problems), and One Clear Choice not only got that installed for us, they recommended another part that may cause future problems. The phone staff quickly assessed what we need; their technician arrived at the beginning of the arrival window and was exceptionally polite. We drove in behind him and he helped both my husband and I across the ice in our driveway up to the door. He quickly assessed the door issue and gave us full details on how it could be resolved. He present three options and answered our questions on each. After we made our decision he went to work and efficiently installed a new opener. He also reattached the smart opener we had installed. Fortunate for me my friend and neighbor just got new garage doors and openers so I went and spoke to him because I know I could trust him. He had already done due diligence and shopped several companies including a big box store. Although the price was similar between the big box and One Clear Choice they were a little less expensive. I didn't have too much work to do other than make a phone call. Judy was awesome on the phone aardvark sent me a quote within an hour. She sets up a measurement with John and he came out in a couple days to confirm everything. Eric came out yesterday and brought the doors openers and did thee installation. He was awesome and even swept out the garage prior to going over our new openers with us. Every employee we dealt with was kind, considerate, knowledgeable and very helpful. We had One Clear Choice come out in September because one of our single garage doors was not going down properly. It would go part way down, and then go up again. We have 3 single doors all of which have openers that were installed by OCC several years ago. The technician came out and after tinkering around a bit, said that we needed a new opener. He tried to sell us a $900 opener, which was way overkill for a single door, but said it was the only unit he had on his truck and offered us a discount if we purchased that day, so we would pay about $770. He also indicated that we needed new springs on all the doors. This didn't sound right to me, so we declined, and asked him to lube everything in exchange for the mandatory $138 trip charge, which he did in a cursory fashion. A week or two later, I called up Prolift Garage Doors, and spoke to the manager or owner at length, trying to figure out the issue. He sent someone out, with no trip charge, and he immediately figured out that the safety eyes were installed incorrectly for a 3 door system, so that at certain times they wouldn't read properly, causing the door to go back up. He reversed the eyes on the center (non-working) door, explained to us why they had to be installed a certain way when 3 single doors were in a row, and while he was there he spent quite a while re-balancing all three doors/springs and lubed everything thoroughly. He charged us a total of $225, which was worth it for all the work he did. All 3 doors have been working great ever since. I called up One Clear Choice to see if they would refund the $130 trip charge, since their guy didn't figure out the problem, and tried to sell us an expensive opener we didn't need. They were fairly offensive in not believing me, and seemed to be bothered that another company which they had not heard of had figured out and fixed the issue. They refused to refund any money, and instead offered us a credit for future work. That is moot, since I will never call them in again for any work. read more

Our daughter just bought her first house in Highlands Ranch. It has old garage door openers (chain drive) that are really noisy and the safety eye beams (across the bottom) keep moving, making operation tricky. I tired tightening them but the holes are stripped out in the walls, making for another project. So my wife and I just decided to buy her 2 new openers. Being a retired Purchasing Agent, I got 4 telephone bids from companies with good scores on Yelp that service her area. The bids for 2 Liftmaster 8550WL belt drive openers with battery backup, 1 outdoor keypad, installation, trip charge include if applicable, with old openers removed and all trash hauled away were: $881, 1,383, 1,060 and 1,205. I was mildly surprised at the 57% range but each company was given the same information. One Clear Choice was the low bider so I went with them. They are also recommended by Dave Logan. The technician was timely. Before finishing, he pointed out several other things that were wrong. He recommended 2 new springs (1 was streched out in the middle and they have to be replaced in pairs), 20 new rollers (10 on each door), 4 new pulleys and 2 new wire cables (both were frayed a little). It didn't surprise me all that much because the doors and openers are original, around 1993. He took a break to get some parts but other than that he worked straight through. He was relatively neat and pleasant to talk to. His final walk-through was quick because I have a similar opener at my house and my daughter wasn't home yet. The new openers are so quiet you barely hear them running. The provided remotes have 3 buttons so either remote can open either door. The keypad can control either door. I put in the code(s) I wanted. Everything was working when he left. The final bill was $1,320.94. As I did not know about the additional items when I got my bids, I have no way to know if the final price was good or not. But since I'm unwilling to pay a service call charge to get a bid, I did the best I could. The price seemed fair so I approved the additional work. (The other companies would have probably noticed the stretched spring and frayed cables as well so their pricing would have likely increased.) They didn't receive 5 stars because 1 of the doors (the one with the new pulleys and cables) doesn't always close all the way every time. It usually closes but occasionally comes back up and the opener lights start flashing. Pushing the button the 2nd time sends the door back down all the way, at least so far. That door used to close all the way, every time. Now it's somewhat iffy. That's why the 4 star rating. Other than that, no complaints. I haven't called the company because the technician told me the door/opener design was what builder's always provide (cheap) and he did his best but couldn't guarantee 100% reliability. He recommends new doors and a better extension spring system. Those are beyond the scope of our finances at the present time. Plus, brand new doors will require HOA approval which will take time. I would use this company again. I blame myself for not having a complete scope of work when obtaining my quotes but retired Purchasing Agents don't know everything. Ha ha. read more

We paid over 400 dollars in January for a full garage door refresh. 6 months later the reverse motor that can cause serious injury to animals and humans was found out to be set incorrectly. They came back to reset it and charged me for a service call after admitting to me that it was set wrong by them. I asked them not to charge me but the owner argued about it and said they would not make this right. I finally decided to replace my old noisy 3 garage door openers with new top of the line Lift Master openers. Wow, I'm impressed with the service I received! First the receptionist was very personable and got me on the schedule within a day of calling since I wasn't in an emergency situation. Then I received a text message with a picture of my technician letting me know he was on his way to my home. He arrived promptly in the 2 hour window they had promised. He quickly got to work and replaced all 3 openers, installed 3 wall controls and a keypad. He showed me how to download the My Q app for Lift Master and program my phone to open/close all 3 doors from anywhere. He programmed the remotes, keypad and my car. Couldn't have been easier! I wondered about adding an extra layer of security with locks and he carried them on his truck and added them to my order cheerfully. They came out to do a different job and just said it was the safety eye beams not lined up and said problem solved. No it was not, next day same thing. Follow up to my first review. We got everything fixed yesterday 8/2. I updated to 3 stars because I do appreciate that through all the mishaps One Clear Choice stuck with it and resolved the problem, just wish we could have gotten this resolved more quickly. Someone also called me to talk it over, and though I actually didn't talk to the person who called me, someone did call and want to discuss what happened but they just were not available when at the time I called back so I spoke with someone else. It does appear there was some confusion as I ended up going from no parts to 2 deliveries of what appeared to be the same part. This time my wife was the only one who could be available during the repairs so she informed me that the technician who came out put some extra time in making additional corrections to the original install. She was appreciative of the explanation of the new work and that everything was running smoothly when the technician left.
