Quick, relaxing lunch overlooking Donnelly Street. There are several options when choosing a seat. Even though it was a warm summer day the second floor patio was perfect with a little breeze. We were greeted by a wonderful server named Mike who checked on us just enough and was prompt with drinks, napkins, etc. The menu says "best pour in town" so we each had a glass of wine, pour was good. We also each had a salad- I had the harvest chicken salad ($9) which they are supposedly known for. Hubby had the walnut salad and added chicken, without the chicken (extra charge) it would've been pretty light. My salad was good but I'm not sure I would have it again. Prices are a little high but it about on par with downtown Mount Dora. The food was fresh and light, the service great at atmosphere nice so we'll be back. read more

Cute little breakfast and lunch spot. I stopped here for lunch when I was in the area for work. Loved the unique layout! This cafe is your standard little relaxation spot with great food. I tried the black bean soup and an egg and cheese sandwich on an English muffin. Took some carrot cake home for later which was fantastic! I would say the menu is a little pricey for how simple the items are, but it was a satisfying meal. I would love to sit out on the porch and enjoy a coffee on my next visit! read more

Pros: A cute hip coffee location with enormous drinks and multiple ambiances. Cons: Outdoor seating can be directly in sun during the day. Bottom Line: A great homely and hip coffee location that is a favorite of the locals. I spent the day in Mount Dora exploring the local eateries and was happy to find this small café in the downtown area. One flight up literally takes you up a flight of stairs before you see the actual coffee room. There are 4 individual settings that each have a different ambiance. Outdoor seating is available with a fantastic view of the downtown street, however I would recommend you avoid sitting there mid-day as it can get really hot. The view is fantastic at night though. The drinks are absolutely huge! I was expecting an 8oz petite frozen chai latte but I got something close to the 24oz venti monstrosities of Starbucks. The flavor was pleasant and not overly sweet; it was definitely a welcome addition to the hot summer afternoon. Service is pretty chill; the servers will take their time getting to you if you're alone but they definitely embody nice Southern hospitality. You should definitely take the initiative in getting their attention. I was offered more latte several times and even one to take home with me, although these drinks are so big that you'll be hard pressed to want more. They offer some delicious looking spreads and sandwiches as well. Overall everyone is really friendly here and it's definitely a necessity to any downtown area. read more

Very disappointing. Poor service, blah food from a very limited menu. I ordered the harvest chicken salad, which was supposed to be a scoop of chicken salad served on a bed of greens. The chicken looked and tasted like it came from a can. The "bed" of greens must have been a cot-sized bed! On top of that, they delivered the check at the same time they finally brought out food. Really like the frozen Chai, hot chocolate is pretty good, and their cheese platter isn't worth the price but is fun to share! I only get it if I have a Groupon, though. The presentation is inconsistent. Go when there isn't a street fair or art weekend going on. If you go when there's something busy happening, you'll get your frozen chai in a tiny little plastic cup (talk about disappointing, after you've been raving to your friends about it). If you go on a slower normal day you SHOULD get it in a huge goblet :) read more

Not just a coffee shop, very laid back, We watched a few interesting music videos while we ate a most wonderful southwestern chicken soup. Our order was taken 3 different times by 3 different waitresses and everytime were told they did not know what happened to our order. To top things off, the last plate served came with a hair in it. If you are either visiting Mt. Dora, or even live here, you should know that this place is impeccable. The scenery of the historic downtown Mt. Dora is already enough to put you in a good mood, but once you go up the stairs, and reach the café, you are greeted by employees bustling by, the fresh scent of café food, and artwork that can only be described as...unique. I usually come to hang out with friends or do homework. They usually are quite busy so it is loud but that is understandable. I would recommend getting the frozen chai, and the brownie sundae. The chai is made perfectly, and you get a decent amount for the price. Same goes for the brownie sundae. The warmed brownie is perfect, in contrast to the soft served ice cream and whipped cream on top. Another recommendation is to get their cakes. They offer a variety, but all of them are moist and springy, just as a cake should be. They also offer open mic nights, so that is a good way to check out some of the local talent. The only thing to be worried about is your bill racking up high! This place can get pretty expensive for common café food. I usually end up spending $10-15 per person. However, that is not surprising, given that this is located in the downtown area. read more

I'm not from mount dora but whenever I come visit its a must spot for me! First the ambiance- I love how relaxed it is here. The windows let in so much natural light making it the perfect place to study. I'm very picky about the "atmosphere" I study in. It's weird I know, but I love a place that puts me in a cheerful mood and this place is it. It's a hidden gem that I would never have gone in since its upstairs. I was shocked when I came in. You have a cafe, a study lounge, and a huge patio that overlooks downtown. The staff is super friendly and put love in the coffee. The food- I haven't tried the food here but I have had the coffee. I'm never let down when I get one. And the presentation is definitely something to take note. My bf and I love this place! Overall- ditch Starbucks and come to one flight up :) read more

Very cute place with some seating scattered between rooms and on the patio upstairs. If it is not too hot I would recommend the patio. They do have service. We got two coffees. They have soy milk, you just have to ask for it. The coffees were very good and the service was excellent. Very friendly, chatted with us about the town a little bit. There are a couple of rooms upstairs with merchants selling their wares, which makes for a fun few minutes to peruse while sipping. I had the salmon Caesar and I could smell the fishiness before I even had a bite. We were at the Mt Dora Spring fair and stopped in for lunch. It's a second floor walk up with a nice balcony table area facing the street. It also has a few small dining rooms to choose from. You seat yourself. We had the lobster bisque and chicken black bean soup. Both were really good. The chicken bean had a hint of heat but was very balanced. The harvest chicken salad was also great. We live in Maitland but this Cafe worth the drive! We loved our lunch & are eager to return. I had the Chicken Curry Sandwich with Sweet Potato Waffle fries. Best I ever had & so generous in size, I ate half & enjoyed the rest that night for supper. Husband had the famous Reuben. He enjoyed every bite! He is particular about his Reuben's so I was happy. The server was great & other guests were friendly & enjoying their experience & food. The menu choices were available for "regular" meat eaters like us or vegan. Last week I ordered the $12 ham and cheese sandwich. It came with chips and a pickle spear. I laughed when it arrived. It was on square bread like I would use at home. The bread was damp as if it had been prepared in advance and stored in a refrigerator. I ordered mine without tomato but there the tomatoes slices were. The chips were stale.
