I almost left when I saw the towel that the manicurist placed underneath my feet. There were stains and stuff on the towel. She flicked the towel a couple of times to remove whatever was on top of it or stuck on it. I have to admit that I will not be coming back here. I keep thinking about the dirty towel that is underneath my feet. I thought to myself that if she intends to use it to dry my legs, I'll be walking out. Guess what? Carol wanted to dry my feet with the dirty towel. She then tried to use another towel that also looked dirty. I pulled my feet and legs away so that she would be unable to dry them. I only allowed her to dry my feet when she placed alcohol on my feet, I figured the alcohol would kill whatever was on the towel. I decided to just get a massage without having my nails painted since I know I'll get charged for the $25 pedicure. Carol cut my nails and removed my cuticles without hurting me. I'll have to admit I was afraid when I saw a couple of pictures on Yelp with people that bled from their manicure. The massage is something I would not pay extra for. I usually ask for a longer massage when I enjoy the massage, but I didn't enjoy the massage as I do at other salons. Would I recommend this place? They are very friendly, and I was able to walk in for a pedicure. Carol did a good job in cutting and cleaning my nails. Most of the employees wore a mask. I got to meet MJ, I did a walk in. The store is so clean. She and other workers here are so welcoming friendly and comforting. They all greeted me kindly, while working so hard. I got everything I asked for and more! Manicure and pedicure was really quick! Around an hour. My nails was very affordable too, manicure and pedicure was $65 total for what they did for me. The massage with the nail service was very nice too. She gave me some affordable and simple skin and cuticle nail care tips, which is so sweet, and that is great customer service. It is comforting to learn from an expert. It was so wonderful to meet and talk with her about current event topics, weather, sports, and ourselves. MJ has such a delightful personality and talented as well. Thank you for making my nails beautiful I let her know that this was just a discreet yet special occasion type of nails for an event. She did the perfect detailed job for that. We have a note for next time, We'll look at color #5. (I have #2 in my attached picture). This nail salon is the worst salon for younger age group to come. This place deserves to be shut down. Absolutely horrendous. They do not sanitize their tools, outdated polishes, and outdated skills. I also had some concerns about the workers health as far as having contagious infection and they are not taking precautionary measures to prevent infection and bacteria from spreading. They will also machete and cut you and make you bleed because they will not use the correct skills to remove your acrylics, gels, or cuticles. My nails cost me 50 dollars for a full set with gel Polish. The end result is crooked and uneven. They took advantage of me and did a half ass job. Too bad, I've been getting my nails done for over 15 years and been to lots of nail salons. Don't come here because you will be disappointed. I can't even imagine how much they would have charged me if I complained and requested them to do a better job. They can not do young generations nails. This place is for old ladies. I love coming here to get my biweekly mani-pedi. I've been to many other places over the years and I always end up coming back here! Their nail techs are friendly and personable and they do a great job! They ensure that your visit is as enjoyable as possible. (I literally sniffled once and my nail tech brought over a box of Kleenex for me... I was so confused because I didn't know that she even noticed until she told me why she brought it... SO SWEET!) They also do a great job with pedis, manis, and full set and it's not ridiculously overpriced like many other places in the area! read more

I have come here a lot of times over the course of several years but no more. I got a gel manicure FOUR days ago. And this is what they look like today. The nail polish is lifting around the edges of my nails. My index nail is completely bare now. Not to mention my cuticles do not look good. They should look better after getting a manicure four days ago. I spent $26 on this gel manicure plus tip. I guess you get what you pay for? The service is not a big deal, however the nail technicians are surely lacking in technique. That, or the quality of their product is below par. I've never had a gel manicure look so tore up after just four days. read more

The manicurists are really nice and are always trying to accommodate you! They do a great job. I'm always happy when I leave. There are two large screen tvs to watch while you are getting your nails done. The prices are fair and you get deals if you get more than one thing done! It's a cozy place and it seems like a lot of costumers have been going there for years. I have gotten everything done here: wax, acrylics, manicures, and pedicures. Today 3/5/201 I went to 1 Hr Nails for my appointment at 12:30 pm. I regret going here instead of the salon that I normally go to. My sister talked me into going here. I need to stop listening to her. The place was not busy but it was overcrowded because of covid. There was no social distancing. The cut was so bad my skin and tissue lifted off from my nail. The technician was not paying attention to her work and my nail. She didn't know what she did and continued cutting my finger until I stopped her. read more

It was my first time checking out this nail salon since I was in the area & was in need to get my nails done. Nice environment & was greeted by one of the staff when I walked in. I felt a bit awkward by the other customers because I was the youngest customer there at the time.. it's my day off! I asked for gel nails & my nail tech showed me samples to choose from, but while I was choosing a color, she insisted I try to go for the French manicure type of gel nails so my nails [polish] won't look too noticeable while it grows out. I would have given them a 4 or 5 star review based on past experiences (they do excellent nail art and are super friendly), but I just went there for a gel manicure and it was kind of a let down. I had a gel manicure done is San Francisco and it lasted me a little over two weeks before it started lifting. I had one done at One Hour Nails on June 3rd, and it started peeling off June 8th or 9th! The gel manicure is supposed to last 3 weeks, and I know that's a little far fetched, but 5-6 days? REALLY? I don't know if they didn't clean up my cuticles enough or just don't have the gel manicure technique down yet... either way, they need to step it up, because you can't tell customers that a service will last 3 weeks and then only have it hold up for a third of that time. Probably won't go back there for a gel manicure. read more

I absolutely LOVE this nail salon!!! I have been coming here for over 10 years now!! I recently moved to Upland, and I still drive all the way to Temple City to come to this salon!!! MJ is hands down THE best nail tech I have ever had the privilege of working with, and I have worked with a LOT of different men and women nail techs!! She is high quality!! She doesn't make my nails too thick or too thin, she doesn't leave any crap underneath them, and she always makes sure you leave 100% satisfied with your nails!! Also, she is the only one I trust to touch my eye brows since she doesn't make them too small or a weird shape like other people have done to me in the past!! She does amazing eyebrows!! My daughter and I have been coming here for about 10 years. I think the ownership has changed during that time. The thing that has not changed is they do a great job on our nails. There is always at least one manicurist there that recognizes us with a smile and warm greeting. I did have the cuticle on my big toe cut here once. The manicurist put something on it and sent me on my way. I made sure to soak it in hydrogen peroxide and vinegar for a week to make sure it did not get infected. This place has never been the same since it has changed ownership. Don't bother making an appointment because they do not have enough people there to honor it. When i called the owner to complain, all she could say was sorry. She didn't even offer to do anything to fix it. This was not the first time I had to go through this with them. I don't understand how One Hour Nail assumes you have 3 hours to your day just for you to get your nails done. I am so over this place. I've been here twice for a Mani/pedi the pedicure was really good but the lady who did the pedicure which also did my Mani did not know how to Polish. The color was not smooth I asked to change the color because I thought maybe it was the Polish and the 2nd Polish came out the same!! The second time I went another lady did the pedicure and I had to tell her what to do. I decided to give it another try and had another lady do my Pedicure I am horrible at names but I love her she digs in and leaves my feet feeling clean and without any ingrown nails. I have since moved but I still go here because I like how she does the Pedicure. For manicure or full set I go elsewhere. I'm extremely picky and they just didn't satisfy me. I have also done face and or eye brow wax here wasn't happy. I rather go to ziba at the mall. It was my first time at One Hour & my friend recommended MJ but she was pretty busy with client after client. First, I came to get my gel removed...big mistake as Julia didn't bother to file the gel polish before soaking my nails with acetone for 10 minutes. I was dreading as the acetone drying my skin & damaging my nails. Another lady arrived & started filing the gel nails bc as she had attempted to removed the gel nail, it didn't come off so she filed them & told Julia she should filed them first before soaking my nails in acetone. What kind of nail person doesn't know that step which makes me wonder if some of them have license to practice. Julia worked on my pedicure while this other lady who I don't even know her name worked on my manicure...my back was killing me because how I was position to be seated. Their seats & station are uncomfortable. When I tipped Julia, the other lady was so rude that she had the audacity to ask me if the $5 is supposed to be split between them. OMG!!! Typical Asian asking when they did a lousy job. I will never go back there again. I wouldn't recommend this place. I would rather go to Diamond Nail in Temple City as their chairs are more comfortable & you are paying $25 for mani-pedi w/ parafin gel. read more
