She can do any nail art idea I bring in, and I trust her opinion when I can't decide what I want. The pricing is reasonable, the quality is great, and they use real Aprés Gel-X, so my nails actually last and don't break. I've been to other places that say they use Gel-X, but it's definitely not the same. I also brought my mom here when she was nervous about getting her nails done, and they made her feel really comfortable, which I appreciated. This was my first time trying this salon. I heard it's usually busy but I was fortunate enough to book a same day appointment for gel pedicure. My technician was Jenny and she is so incredibly sweet and attentive. She frequently checked in with me throughout the service to make sure everything was to my liking and just made the overall experience very enjoyable. The space is super cute and very clean with pedicure service in the front and manicure services toward the back of the space. They even have an adorable refreshment bar for clients. I honestly hate writing negative reviews, but people should know how this salon treats its customers. The first two times I came here, everything was great. I liked the work so much that I recommended the salon to both of my sisters. If my experience had stayed that way, I would have continued coming back. Unfortunately, my third visit was awful. The woman who did my pedicure completely messed up the shape of my toenails. They were crooked and uneven, and it was obvious. I was disappointed, but I decided to let it go because everyone can have an off day. When I came back for my next appointment, they tried to assign me to the same woman again. Because of my previous experience, I politely asked if someone else could do my pedicure. Instead of being understanding, I was told everyone else was busy. Meanwhile, I could literally see other employees sitting around on their phones and staring at me. What happened next is what really blew my mind. Rather than trying to resolve the situation or make things right, they later texted me telling me that I was no longer welcome at the salon and neither were my sisters. Let that sink in. I got banned because I asked for a different technician after one of their employees did a poor job. I've never experienced anything like this from a business before. Any professional salon should understand that not every client is going to be comfortable with every technician, especially after a bad experience. Instead of handling the situation professionally, they took it personally and chose to lose not just one customer, but three. The irony is that I was the one bringing them new clients. My sisters only went there because I recommended the salon. To be treated this way after supporting their business is honestly insulting. There are plenty of nail salons out there that value their customers and know how to handle feedback without banning people for speaking up. I won't be returning, and I definitely won't be recommending this place to anyone again. read more

Came here to get a Mother's Fay treat for myself. I'm absolutely in love with this nail salon. They are super friendly and the service is immaculate. Sophie did my manicure and she's super OCD and my nails look so bomb. I'm trying to grow out my nature nails but the nail salon I used to go to ruined my nail bed so, it's going to be a process. Sophie suggested I add a build to my manicure to help with the brittle nails and they feel like my real nails and not the bulky texture most places makes my nails feel. I went with a pretty purple color this time. Nini did my pedicure this time. She did my manicure last time. She did a great job at my callus removal. My feet feel baby soft. I went here for the first time to get a gel manicure for an interview I had. I wanted something simple, as I usually just do a buff and shine. Helen did my nails and she did a great job. This is the first time I got a gel manicure. The color was beautiful and was a Japanese gel which cost 5 dollars more. The thumb did start to chip a few days later but it was minimal, couldn't notice it for interview. It was probably me packing and doing the most for this interview. During my last visit, I was contacted hours later and told I was undercharged for a service and asked to return to pay an additional $20. I understand that mistakes happen, but being contacted after the appointment felt a bit uncomfortable and left me feeling undervalued as a regular client. Although I had paid $170 with tip, I trusted the correction when it was brought to my attention. Since I was no longer in the area, I offered to Zelle the $20. The experience left me a little unsure. We arrived on a weekend morning to get a clean, trim, and simple color for an upcoming summer trip. Park in the small back lot or there's also plenty of street parking. Takes credit card, Apple Pay, and cash. I've been coming to Tea Nails Bar monthly for over a year and always had positive experiences, which makes today especially disappointing. My nails turned out great, but I was surprised when the total came to $120. After paying, I politely asked to see the menu so I could better understand the pricing and nail art tiers for future visits. The older woman that was ringing me up at the register was clearly annoyed by my questions. I overheard her say in Vietnamese, "She's being so annoying. She already paid, so why does she keep asking about the price?" as she's going to get the menu for me. I did appreciate Lisa coming up to the register and explaining the price was due to all the gemstones. I also did let her know that the other technicians should not talk about their customers in their face like that regardless of them understanding Vietnamese or not. That completely changed my perception of this salon. Asking about pricing is a reasonable question, and it was upsetting to hear staff speak negatively about a loyal customer. I like this place because it's roomier than most salons and they have a large selection of polishes, both gel and regular. However, I've asked them on multiple visits to not cut the corner of my big toe and they do it anyway. Also, the services applicable to their loyalty program must be $50+, otherwise it won't count. The paint job is also not the best, it's usually messy or the top coat is just carelessly painted on. The parking is always difficult for me because it's mainly street parking and it's always a gamble. read more

Lisa fixed my nails and it came out so pretty!!! I removed my previous review, because they apologized today for the mistakes and fixed my nails. I love when businesses can take accountability and make things right :) The shop is very clean and everyone is so nice. They also have plenty of colors and styles to choose from. I make tons of videos every week for different brands, so I love to have my nails done ALWAYS. The blue set I got last time was gorgeous and I received tons of compliments. You can show them any nail design and they'll make it happen. With that being said, this is my third set of nails with this shop and I learned today that dip powder nails can change or melt due to the weather! So I got the gel builder and now my nails are stronger. I come to Rosemead when I have my self care days, so I'll be back to post more nails in a few weeks! :) read more

Been here 3 times total but every tech I've had do my pedicures has been great! I've gone with Rosa, Emily and Jenny. My feet always look great and they're meticulous with their work. The nail polish always lasts me a long time. I got a gel mani in December and I didn't fully get it off until February when I had to get it removed for school. The shop is small from the outside but once you walk in it's bigger than it appears. Everything is clean as well! read more

Walked in today and waited for about 10-15 minutes. Did get some comments about the length of my toe nails... as if Vietnamese isn't a common language. Kinda caught me off guard lol. Service was good from the lady doing my mani besides that and was pretty quick. Nails turned out nice, but I did get cut up on my thumb. It was still bleeding by the time I got home so hopefully it doesn't get infected. Do not come here! If you want to be discriminated against and treated poorly, then go ahead. But do not come here if you expect to wait a long time after booking an appointment. I called days ahead to book an appointment at 1 PM with my mom and then another guest came in and they treated them first before us. The owner said that they already had an appointment booked but so did we. Hello lady? Mind you we came here 15 minutes prior to our appointment time. And my mom was still waiting after our designated appointment time to get her nails done. I specifically booked the appointment for two people for a reason. What a disappointment. 3 stars is only for today's experience. Otherwise it's been good every other time and I've been frequenting here for the past year now. I came in today for a simple gel builder fill - single color from the dnd sheer collection, which has never come at an additional cost. I also kept my nails the same shape but wanted them trimmed shorter which also was never at an extra cost either. Getting more into it below: I think Nini was the name of the nail tech that did my nails today and this experience felt really rushed. Appt was at 3pm and I was in and out within 45 mins which is great, I love efficiency but some things put me off like: painting and curing 2 nails at a time, and each time before the light turned off which meant I was only curing for like 30 secs a time, which again I've never experienced and was concerned this wasn't enough time to cure all my nails but it ended up coming out fine. Just felt really rushed and was not the relaxing salon experience I look forward to every month. Another thing she didn't do was match up the length of each of my nails with my other hand to make sure they were all even. My thumbs were noticeably different lengths and the file down was not clean - pics attached. Lastly, when I went to pay I was originally charged $70 which is questionably a lot for a gel builder refill. If you look at the yelp menu, the refill costs $55 and in my past experiences I've never been charged for trimming, reshaping, or choosing any of the colors from the dnd sheer collection, which I always choose from each time I come here. When I asked about the extra $15 charge, they told me it was due to the added design - please see pics as my nails are one single color (dnd sheer picnic for 2) with no designs whatsoever. I asked again and now they said it's because I trimmed my nails (please see the yelp menu as there's no charge for this either and I do this every month and have never been charged). Whatever - I ended up paying the extra $10 because they didn't want to continue reasoning with me AND still tipped because service workers still deserve it, but am not happy with the overall experience. I still enjoy coming to this salon but am now wary of being blindsided again. Just be sure to ask about pricing upfront to make sure this doesn't happen to you. read more

I frequently came here specifically for the rose milk pedicure which is $70+. I've always like this place because of how cozy and comfortable it is. I would always request Emily to do my pedicures too. The last time I came, I had a pedicure with someone else only for them to text me a few hours later saying that their nail tech did the math wrong and I still owe $20. The last two times I got a pedicure here, my nail tech cut my toe. I thought the first time was just a coincidence. She tried to gaslight me saying I have "sensitive cuticles" I let it go. Second time, she cut me again and I flinched so hard. First time, whatever it happens. But second time and same toe. Sad because the nail tech was really sweet but girl you cut me and drew blood. I opted for the rose milk gel pedicure, and chose a cat eye polish for an additional $15. I felt very taken care of, and the pedicure was just what I needed after a very stressful morning. It was my birthday, and after my cousin mentioned that, everyone wished me a happy birthday and they gave me 20% off my service! The staff are so friendly and I had a great time.
