I went into One Love Tattoos about a month ago to get my belly button pierced. The guy was nice and the experience was good, but what happened the next day makes me never want to go back. The next morning I noticed that my piercing was VERY crooked. The area was barely swollen and jewelry wasn't twisted, the piercing was just done off-center. I called right away and asked what could be done. The same person who did the piercing answered the phone. He told me that a naval piercing can't be perfectly straight. He said he wouldn't re-pierce and my only options were to leave it or take it out. I called Atomic Tattoo, told them the situation and they had come in so they could have a look. I got there the piercer was amazing and said he could fix it right then. He let me know just how badly the original guy messed up. He had pierced crooked and to deep into my belly button as well as using cheep jewelry. I will NEVER go back to One Love Tattoos. read more

I should have written this review a while back. I had been shuffling my feet on deciding what to get and where to get my new tattoo for a long time. I had several design ideas and went to One Love to kind of get a feel for what direction I wanted to go. Hubby and I went in to talk about it and to get an estimate for my new tattoo. Next thing I know, my hubby has slapped down a deposit. A few days later went in to get it done. Travis was very patient with me in working out the details of my tattoo, because ya know, it's permanent. He worked with me on size, coloring and placement. Well, I got some new body mods... It was a hot day and I was a little nervous so my piercer (I will update with his name later) turned the fan on for me and got me some water. The pricing was a tad high but I expected that as it wasn't in my beloved H-town. He was professional and quick about it, which was very much appreciated. At the front of the store, there's a little art gallery. There was an event going on this particular day. We ended up on an art gallery tour around G-town, entering a raffle for something (I don't even know what.) Anyway, if you're up in G-town and looking to get stabbed with some metal or tatted up, I recommend One Love. read more

My daughter wanted her ears pierced again for her 17th birthday. So, I decided to take her to a tattoo studio because I knew they wouldn't be using a gun. I was greeted by a nice gentleman at the counter that asked how he could help us. When I told him we wanted to get a piercing her pointed at a young woman and said she'd help us. She immediately put down her phone and got our info (drivers license and such) and had us fill out the appropriate forms. She set up her sterile tray and did a great job calming my daughter down. When someone is confident in there abilities it makes you feel so much better! The only reason I didn't give her 5 stars is because she gave us no options with jewelry and did not offer any reasoning why she would use a barbell instead of a regular earring. My daughter was fine with it. But, when she goes to change them out I'm not sure she'll be ok with it being a little larger of a hole. All in all, they did a great job. I've been to one love twice, once to get my neck piece that I love and the other with my sister to get her nose pierced and both times have been great, I've never had a prob with anyone there and would yes recommend them to my friends n family, I've know one of the owners Travis since we went to school together and know that he is a great person and great at what he does!!! Well, just to leave a "true experience" about this guy Trav, as they called him. I was there on ROT Friday with my best friend of 20 years who flew in from WI to come to ROT and one of the HUGE activities we were looking forward too and planning for quite a long time was getting our tattoos. Drew did mine ( notice that Doug, and myself were and are referring to Trav doing a HORRIBLE tattoo job). Drew did an EXCELLENT job, on me. My beastie had hers done by Trav. I'd post pics if I could! Anyway, when we went back the next day, to have Drew fix hers. Trav, looking as if an intervention was in order because of his tweaking he couldn't control, came at me like a ragging bull, being calm and trying to keep from stooping to his level for an argument, I explained to him that I wasn't there to bitch at him, or even speak to him. I told him that I was there to have Drew fix her tat. He about came out of his skin and said he wasn't going to let drew fix it! Ok for whatever reason he had, however I also wanted to pay for the tats the day before. (Accidentally left, thought I had paid). And get some piercings. So, after he screamed at me that He wasn't going to let Drew fix her tat, I interrupted him to tell him I still wanted to pay for them. He screamed at me again, while I was getting my wallet out that he didn't want my money, several times! I continued to get out 100 dollar bill, which was the total of our tats the day before, and as I reached out to hand that money to Drew, he said it yet again, he didn't want, nor was he going to take my money. And at that point I told him to just shut the fuck up. I had enough of some tweaking asshole yelling at me! He then continued to yell to get the fuck out of his area! We gladly did, but drew deserved to be paid! Drew came up to us about 5 minutes later and offered to help. Also told us that Trev took half of that 100 bucks! So, yes he screwed up a tat, it happens from time to time, but accountability and doing the right thing is priceless. Then like a punk, pussy, bitch, he took half of that money! Now there's a true experience with this Trav both ladies that "jumped on doug" didnt have tats done by Trav, they had them done by Drew, thank goodness! I went with my sisters to get a tattoo at One Love Tattoos. One of my sisters has many tattoos and wanted a simple one done (no shading). The experience at the tattoo parlor was great and it was well priced. The next day we noticed something was wrong with my sisters tattoo, because the green in it had spread around the lines tattooed. We contacted him and he said that this was a normal part of the healing process and that it should go away in a couple weeks. Even though we have had several tattoos and never seen this before we went along with it. A couple weeks later it was completely healed and the green ink was still spread around the tattoo, after research on the internet we found out that he had blown out the ink. My sister went to approach him again with the matter in person. He said that he did nothing wrong, but the tattoo would probably look like that for a while and it would eventually go away. It is not going away. My sister realized this guy wasn't going to offer to fix it or refund her at all, but she was hoping he would at least admit that he messed up and offer an apology. He was extremely rude to her in person when she went in to talk about it. Since she is too nice of a person to leave the review this deserves I said I would. I would want to know if I were looking at trying out a tattoo parlor in Georgetown. read more

I had a piercing done somewhere in Austin, and the ball came off of one of my earrings while I was in Georgetown so I stopped by One Love to see if someone would help me put the ball back on. Upon walking in one guy seemed to want to be helpful, but the other guy was very rude, and wanted to charge me $10 just to screw the ball onto my earring. Dude, I would have tipped you for your help, but outright charging me for something like that made me want to leave immediately. I like to be in a friendly, helpful environment for tattoos and piercings, but this guy was very obviously only in it for the money and didn't care about helping me. I went to Needlewerx (just down the street) and was immediately welcomed and helped, I would recommend heading over there. I honestly don't know the quality of One Love's piercings/tattoos, but I prefer to give my money to nice people. Simple as that. read more

I am little peeved at this place. When I first went in I wanted a different person but I got a bit coerced Into choosing the manager. His artwork was great and I like my tattoo but I specifically asked for something else. Also, he didn't tell me how to take care of my tattoo or anything about it, I'm just glad I didn't get an infection because I've heard a lot of my friends being much worse off. We first came across One Love Tattoo a couple of months ago when our 16 yr daughter wanted a tattoo . Her friends have them and said "ya 16 yr olds and get tattooed" so we went in to get a professional's opinion. We talked with Kevin and he stated that NO you can not get a tattoo at 16 unless it falls under certain laws, which she doesn't . We appreciated his honesty and loyalty to his profession and up holding the law, because some places would look the other way and tattoo her, like the places her friends went to. He encouraged her to be patient and wait till she was older to make this kind of decision. I have been wanting to get a tattoo for a long time, but I was not sure what I wanted and honestly I was a little chicken. When I finally decided what I wanted I went to One Love Tattoo. That choice was simple . They are not only professional, they have a great place there. I am a little older then most of there customers I think and they didn't make me feel,out of place. I of course had Kevin do my tattoo and he knew I was very nervous but he was great and made me feel relaxed, as relaxed as you can getting your first tattoo:-). I went to Atomic Tattoo on Burnett Road to get my first tattoo and let's just say, I was less than satisfied with my experience. I was going to go back for my second because that's where most of my friends go and I have a lot of mutual friends with the owner. The more I thought about it, the more I realized that I didn't want the same experience I am after all paying good money for something permanent. A friend of mine suggested One Love. I was a little nervous going in, but the atmosphere was much more welcoming than at Atomic. I was the only person there, as on the day of my first tattoo, and Travis greeted me. I showed him what I wanted, it was something I had drawn the night before that I was in love with. He told me of another idea he had along the same lines. At first I was hesitant and told him I just wanted what I had drawn he was very polite and was willing to do what I had asked, no trying to talk me out of it. About five minutes later I changed my mind and wanted to go with his idea. He drew it out and I fell in love with it. Its a thigh piece and he didn't leave big gouges like the last guy, it wasn't all bloody. The whole experience, as painful as it was, turned out to be highly enjoyable! Every time I look at it, I'm so glad I changed my mind. Next time I get one, I'm letting them have creative freedom again! Thank you soooo much!!! read more

The artist Kevin did a wonderful job on my son's 1st tattoo. He was nice and stayed passed closing to do his tattoo before he headed back to the military. Unfortunately, he did not honor the coupon $20 off $100 because he said the owner had to do it and he was an independent artist. Doesn't make sense to me, it's on the website. He spent $200. We came here instead of the other one close by due to the coupon. read more

I only wish i could put negative stars on this "business.:Travis, the man who did my girlfriends tongue and belly button, and my tongue as well, pierced both of our tongues incorrectly at an odd angle. I went to another professional who was a little closer to home in Pflugerville and she told me that it was very wrong and that my tongue was in bad shape and i needed to remove the jewelry immediately. So i called Travis to let him know about my inconvenience and i was very polite about it because i understand that not 100% of piercings go exactly how the artist expects, well i thought he would offer to redo it once it had healed, I was VERY wrong. He responded with "well if you want to go to her go to her i don,t see what the hell your problem is" to which I said "the problem is that you pierced me incorrectly and instead of trying to make it right you are being very rude about it." he then said "well i don't know what you want either take it out and let her redo it or you can come down here and we can box over it" so not only am i out $120 but i also got threatened over the phone by this "artist" if you can call ripping people off with terrible quality piercings an art. read more

Was just in today to get my tragus pierced. They did not dot it and show me where they would be placing the piercing. (I've had this done at other tattoo shops.) so, I was pierced and nor was shown my piercing afterwards. Just was told to take a daily hot shower and was rushed out the door. I looked at the piercing once I got into the car and noticed the placement didn't look quite right to me. I did quite a bit of googling pictures and asking friends who have it done. Mine wasn't right. I then messaged the shop and their excuse was, "you have a small tragus, you do not have much of a choice unfortunately. Try a hoop or bigger diamond." This, I find unprofessional. I believe any tattoo shop should make sure their customers are 100% satisfied. I should have gotten a response such as "come on back in and let's see if we can fix it" or something of the sort. Not to mention they had posted on Facebook that they were doing $25 piercings until Thanksgiving. That was not brought to my attention when I went in and I was charged $40. Never will I be back. Now I'm looking for another shop who can correct a simple piercing. read more
