I had my wedding in St. Charles in September 2022 and they came to the hotel to do my bridesmaids. They were incredibly patient with everyone's needs and requests, and made us all feel SO beautiful. The BEST ever!!! I have been going to Ami for years, so I was already super confident in One Bridal Company. As usual, they exceeded my expectations! Ami, Parrish, & Ashley were incredible (& insanely fun!) to work with. We had a huge wedding party & everyone looked beautiful. The morning of the wedding, I decided I wanted a completely different hairstyle (which Ami pulled off flawlessly, of course) & we had a few more girls ask if they could get hair & makeup done.. the girls had no trouble fitting in my sister in law for hair & makeup, & 3 flower girls' hair! Paty did an amazing job with my hair! My hair isn't coarse-curly but it is curlier than the typical straight, Asian hair. She listened to the issue I was having with my previous style of hair, offered relevant suggestions, and cut my hair exactly the way I wanted according to my reference photo. Her service was quick and efficient and she's so friendly and personable. Everyone says that Don Gigante is an artist....but what does that really mean to me? An artist finds the beauty in everything and helps other see that beauty too, by using tools to sculpt or draw out it out using a medium that they love. Don loves to use hair brushes, blow dryers, color, scissors, and words to help women see the beauty that they have always had, just waiting to be recognized by and highlighted by the right artist. Grant it you have to be willing to do the work to keep the masterpiece from fading, but it is well worth it as you discover the feeling you have when your beauty is in full bloom. I never much cared to "do my hair" much less attention to the fact that the color of it really made me look washed out in most pictures. Then I went to Don, "to have my hair colored right for your wedding!" said my mom. I was up for anything so I agreed. Thinking I would get my hair colored "good" for the wedding and then be done. 10 months later I am still getting my hair 'done right by Don' What I left with after the initial consultation was way more than what color hair would be best for me. He knows what looks great on each individual and he teaches you everything he knows and cheers you along the way. A car of boys (about 12 years younger!!) honked at me while I was in the drive through. I looked back and they waved. All I could do was blush. Not used to getting that kind of attention....things like this never used to happen to me before going to Don. What a compliment and such a good feeling! The other day a friend of mine saw a new picture of me up on Facebook and said, "Wow, marriage must be really good for you, you look GREAT!" I picked One Salon & Bridal Co. for my wedding after my sister used them in June 2015 and we had a great experience. My sister's wedding was right down the street in St. Charles...mine was 90 minutes away in New Buffalo, MI! But One Salon & Bridal Company was happy to come out and take care of us 5 ladies anyway. Alexa and Becki did the hair and makeup for our entire crew and everyone was thrilled! I was more of a diva in the trial than I expected as I don't wear much makeup or pay much attention to my hair so I kept having Alexa change it to look softer and more like me and I was SO happy with the final product! Ami did my hair and make-up for our wedding (listed in one of the photos above). She was absolutely amazing and made me feel and look more beautiful than any other day of my life! After the trial where we tried a couple different styles, we pinpointed the best hair and makeup to suit my style and facial structure. She took a lot of pictures to make sure it was exactly the same on our wedding day. The day of our wedding Ami and her team arrived on time, happy and added a calm and comfortable vibe to our room and group. I recently was married on the 25th of May and One Salon & Bridal Co. really made my experience so enjoyable not to mention relaxing. Being relaxed when you don't have a wedding planner is pretty important in my experience. When I first came across OS&BC, they had glowing reviews on google. They even had the awards to prove how great they are. What bride doesn't want the best? I knew that they were a match not just by the glowing reviews and awards but also their salon services offered. They are up to date with all the newest and greatest trends. To me, those kind of details matter. Upon arriving I couldn't help but notice the charming older house that is a now salon. It truly was a welcomed surprise! The salon also occupies two floors which is wonderful for clients and their individual needs. As soon as you walk in you just get a wonderful family vibe, and everyone is so polite and welcoming. With all of this at the forefront, my mother were even more excited for our consultation to begin. Melanie did my makeup whereas Alexa did my mother's hair, and then we would eventually switch. I was going for more of a natural look for my makeup and very Art Deco for my hair and both Melanie and Alexa more than delivered. Both my mother and myself were more than pleased, and I even planned further appointments with the salon. I also wanted to get my eyebrows waxed, but hadn't gotten them done in a really long time and Amanda really came through last minute. She, in my opinion, is truly the best. She makes you feel comfortable, she is a great conversationalist and really listens to what you want. As for my wedding, everyone was on-time and more than helpful even helping me with the last minute "to-do's". I would recommend One Salon for make-up but probably not for hair styling. I had both my make-up and hair done here for my wedding day last summer. The salon had been recommended to me by a friend as she had enjoyed her experiences there. I went in for my hair and make-up trial and mostly enjoyed the experience and Ami's ideas for my hair style. I have very thick/heavy hair and wanted to have a half-up style for the wedding. At the trial, my hair looked okay but it was very loose (not nearly enough bobby pins) and fell out almost as soon as I left the salon. I called Ami and explained that I was a bit concerned that my hairdo had not stayed in, as I believed that the hair style at the trial was supposed to be nearly identical to the wedding day style (basically because at One Salon, it costs just as much to have a trial as it does to have your hair/make-up done on the day of the wedding... something that was definitely not explained to me until I was about to leave the salon after the trial and Ami asked for $130+...). She explained that they don't use as many pins for the trial but would be sure my hair would stay up all day on the day of the wedding. The experience in the salon on the morning of my wedding was nice. My mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and sister also got their hair and make-up done there. My sister liked her hair style but my mother and sister-in-law were not extremely happy with their hairdos and thought they probably could have done a better job themselves. I was VERY happy with my make-up, and it really looked great and stayed on all day. My hair looked okay, but did not look anything like it did at the trial. I told Ami that and she tried to fix/change it to the way we had practiced it, but whatever she did to change it also made it feel very loose. I told her this and she stuck in a few more bobby pins, but I could tell that my hair did not feel very secure. Sure enough, about an hour or two later, before the ceremony even started, my heavy hair (that hadn't been properly secured) had pulled down the hair style so that it looked very boring and flat (more like an everyday style and not something special for a wedding). It continued to fall and be pulled down by my hair's weight throughout the day, and by the end of the reception, the hair style had basically fallen out. It wasn't the worst thing in the world and I still had a great wedding day, but it was annoying that I paid about $260 for the make-up and hair trial and day-of styling for something that 1) didn't even look like the trial hair style, and 2) was not properly secured, even though I raised that as a concern multiple times. For the hairdo I ended up with, I really could have done it myself and probably made it more secure. I'm sure for some hair styles they do a good job, but for some reason my hair and relatively easy hair style was not done well. For this reason, I would not recommend this salon for hair styling. read more

No one has done my hair better and I got lots of compliments--my 4th wedding as mother of bride. They also did bride and two bridesmaids and everyone looked stunning. They did exactly what you asked and they know what they are doing and do it well. Good service--they came out to the venue on short notice on Labor Day Weekend, a Sunday. Ami and her team did two of my daughters weddings. At each wedding they came to the location. Ami and her team did the bride and the bridesmaids and the mother of the bride and the groom's mother. Everyone looked amazing!!! I highly recommend One Bridal to anyone. The airbrush make-up lasted all night along with the hair styles. They really listen to each person and found the right style for each girl. They are professional and fun at the same time.
