I really could not recommend Refined Beauty more for a wedding. To start, I had a very large group. I had 12 bridesmaids and the mother of the bride and mother of the groom. For the trial, I worked with Cielo and she was just a pleasure to work with. She truly listened to my vision and what I wanted for my bridal look. I was obsessed with the hair from the jump (it look just like my inspo pic) and my makeup looked great but I had a few things I wanted to slightly tweak for the wedding day and she absolutely made the changes (a bit fuller coverage, warmer more bronzed/blush look). On the wedding day, the team (Kikki, Ben, and Cielo) showed up early and ready to set up. They had their work stations all ready to go by 8am and were very professional. They were so fun to talk to and also really listened to everyone's visions. My husband's mom isn't a big makeup wearer but wanted to get a set of fake lashes glued on and didn't know how, so they even did that for her using their lashes for free. She was pleased. Kikki offered airbrush or regular base for makeup which was nice to have the option. I have a small tattoo on my collarbone I wanted gone for the wedding and Cielo covered it up perfectly. Seriously you could not see it. Ben killed it with the hair and was touching girls hair up close to the end for the girls who went earlier. Finally, working with Liz as the point of contact at Refined Beauty for booking was wonderful. She communicated throughout the entire process, updated my contract when we had a few changes to hair/makeup count, answered all my questions, made my wedding day MU&H timeline for me, checked in after my trial to get my honest thoughts and then checked in before the wedding again to confirm everything. I highly recommend Refined Beauty for any wedding; they can handle a large group, executed our visions, and I can tell they really love what they do! STOP DELETING You will be pushed if you don't do what they want and pay more for their mistakes I was gaslighted they tried to manipulate me. They were extremely unprofessional and they tried to gang up on me telling me everything I'm saying is wrong and invalid, saying that my photos were also incorrect I asked for my ends to match the bottom of my crown. Ben just decided to highlight them and do what he wanted The crown of my hair was done at home.. which is why it looks better and then he toned it he claims that he had bleached it with a 10v developer, anybody who knows about Hair and do anything to lift it only deposits color how ever I wanted them to correct my hair. I talk to the manager Jennifer she told me to come in so she can see what they can do.. the only thing they kept saying was how they can put brown over my hair Outside of my hair color my hair cut was absolutely awful He cut off way more than 2 inches that he claimed he was going to One side is shorter than the other I was completely unsatisfied and treated awful and unfairly. (Jennifer) kept showing me a level 9 claiming my hairs jet black but they are not. She showed me a level 9 saying that's what they can do? What I already have. Ben didn't give me what I asked he did what he thought was best and I clearly didn't like it I was being nice ab it telling them I'm sorry if I come off rude, but I just don't like it expressing the stuff I don't like telling them the problems that I had with my hair that he did. I also said I did not want him to do my hair. I would like someone else to do it and she was super upset and so was he they just kept saying over and over that I don't understand making seem like I'm crazy. They repeatedly told me I'm not cooperating? Just bc I didn't like the solutions they had. Which was the same man to do my hair.. Ben cut them and they was noticeably awful one side was short one was longer so he trimmed it and fixed it he fixed them 3x to the point I was terrified for him to even go back in my hair to cut them they told me over and over that my hair looked good when they don't I kept saying idc if they look good to you guys I don't feel like they look good. I said that I would have paid 1k to be happy it's not ab the money Ben had said " if it's not ab the money why are you concerned with paying 500 instead of 350" because they wanted more money to fix the issues HE caused his lack of communication was the issue. He cut my hair all under five minutes because his boyfriend was waiting for him, and he seemed very rushed. When Ben mentioned ab me being worried ab prices that's when I asked for a refund and told them dye my hair black and give me my refund and we can be back at square 1. Jennifer, turned my chair around and told me to conversations ended and they will not service me. why would I want them to retouch my hair again in the first place after they ganged up on me first of all Ben shouldn't have been present when I was talking ab his work to Jennifer that was completely unexpected she was literally pushing me I kept telling her to stop pushing me and all she said was I was harassing them bc I didn't wanna do what they said! BY ME PAYING FOR IT! and that I'm " threatening her by dying my hair black? " so I said how is that a threat is my own hair??? I can go on and on about the insanity She threatened to call the cops so I told her go ahead she opened the door and gave me my jacket all bc I asked for a Refund. Extremely unprofessional told me that my photos were not accurate. She's extremely biased just because Ben works there she was against me from the start.. I heard them talking bad about me upstairs while I was downstairs waiting All of this is done out of a house They do not know how to do hair I was blonde before multiple times it would have took in them 10 sessions just to get me to a dark blonde it cost me 350 for absolutely a nightmare I was harassed bullied , pushed, gaslighted, and manipulated , embarrassed. all bc I asked for help. l went to see Erin for the Puralux hair treatment and it was the best experience. She completely transformed my dead dull hair and gave me my dream hair. I am so beyond happy with the results of the treatment. Well...where can I start....I have moved to Chicagoland after having lived in south for 18+yrs. And I was hoping to find a decent salon that would take care of hair care that I was one my things I do for self care for a while now. I went purely on fb reviews and I found this amazing place in dt Naperville. Gaby is wonderful, friendly (to the point she would remember our convo from previous appntms and enquire the next time), treats you extremely professionally. That girl has magical fingers. She listened to me patiently and give her suggestions and we come up with a plan. And i love this approach. The massages she gives during the hair wash is so worth visiting just for a hair wash and blow out. She never tried to sell anything but make more suggestion when i ask for hair care advice. She also gave me a tour of upstairs where they have all aesthetical services, when there was no client appointment. Now i have to talk about the place itself....this place is extremely clean, cozy, have all kinds of healthy snacks and beverages. You wont have to sit in hunger for hours without even enjoying the experience. Overall I have enjoyed the experience and have scheduled facial appointments as well. I wish I had the option of zero stars. First let me start out by saying that if you do not have the knowledge to properly place extensions then you should not be on the floor. The stylist who did my extensions put them all in wrong, I had shorter pieces in the back and longer pieces in front. Just when that was bad enough, she decided to cut my hand tied extensions because they didn't fit properly. (By the way I came in there with them properly fitting) perphaps it was her lack of knowledge about extensions. She then used nail glue to seal off the ends of the extensions (brilliant by the way she got that tip from Tik tok ) The color she did was also terrible. I was referred here by a friend to try Simply Tan, their custom spray tan services, for my wedding and had a GREAT experience. Halie absolutely nailed it - I felt sunkissed without feeling unnatural or orange. I did a trial with her pre-wedding and I loved that when I came back for my tan before the big day they had exactly what they did last time listed in their system to ensure that the color and wash-off time were consistent with what we had done before. This place is so overpriced on all of the services. I don't mind spending money but, it was a total waste of my money!!! This was my first time getting a lash tint and the least the girl could of done was explained to me how the process works. I had to ask her all kinds of questions and @ the end of the process my lashes did not even have the black tint. The way my lashes looked when I walked in were the same when I walked out! I also got an eyebrow tint and I had to tell her to fill in the empty spots that she missed. One eyebrow was darker then the other. I was hopeful about Jennifer and team when reading other high reviews. Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience. I put a "non-refundable" downpayment towards services and then scheduled time for a trial, which was an additional cost. The girl that did my trial was really nice, but I could tell our styles did not mesh. After contacting Jennifer, I was told my options were to pay for another trial, or have a complimentary consultation (what?). She also implied that my issue was not being comfortable with make-up stating "some brides enjoy a second trial to try on their wedding day look since it is not a daily look most are familiar with wearing.." Since I was not happy (and also my air bush skin was orange) I asked if we could work anything out. She said "We value our skill and time and do not offer free trials". Jennifer's refusal to try to work with me ultimately made my decision to move on. This became more frustrating as I tried to work with her on all the money I had paid. She mentioned that my deposit was "non-refundable ". When I reminded her that it should be going toward services and I was just looking for some money back, she told me I had no options. Thus I ended up paying for a trial as well as a payment that I will not see again. I would warn you to not put any money down until doing your trial and don't plan on Jennifer being very accommodating for your "special day". read more
