Despite this, I was quoted approximately $700 for upper control arm bushing replacement, which appeared to be completely unnecessary based on what I found. That experience seriously raised concerns about the accuracy of their inspection process and the recommendations being made. Bradley and the individual managing the service desk did not inspire confidence, and unfortunately, I left feeling that the diagnosis and suggested repairs were not trustworthy. So far, Autosport Werks has given me confidence in their team, but time will be the true test. I brought my 2016 VW Tiguan in for an oil leak which turned out to be many oil leaks and and a couple of knock-on issues. The repair job was very expensive, but my comparison shopping told me their price wasn't terribly far off from what I could expect elsewhere. In the few weeks since that work was done my windshield washer pump has gone out, which does make me a touch suspicious, but given how old the car is I guess I can't be too shocked about random parts giving up the ghost. Their team has been very nice and patient with me and my many questions. They've been transparent, breaking down the quote for me when asked and making sure I understood what they'd found and what they were proposing to do to fix it. The piece that gave me the most assurance was that they offer a four year warranty on their repairs, which I can't imagine any shop would do if they were fly-by-night. So far, so good.

Eventually, I was told the car had misfired and then stopped, but they could not identify the cause or recommend a repair. Any time I had a question, I was told to take it to a dealership. Even after I simply asked if the car was safe to drive, they just said "I don't know. Take it to the dealership." I understand that some issues can be intermittent, but I expected at least basic diagnostic information (such as codes pulled or which cylinder was affected), or a clear next step. They didn't even have anything in writing for me to take when I picked up my car. The lack of communication and unwillingness to provide even an estimate was frustrating and the whole thing was a waste of time.

Typically, when companies offer some sort of "lifetime" warranty, it's with so many strings attached that it's meaningless. My car was repaired 2.5 years ago and started developing rust spots by the fender. I made an appointment anxious if anything would be handled and the owner came out and within 10 months had me on the books to fully repaint and repair the side!
