First time trying this place. The food was okay, but they barely gave us any chicken when I ordered two half, all white meat chicken dinners, plus no bread or plantains. They claimed that they made our online (door dash for pick up) orders wrong, and instead of correcting and fixing the orders, they just gave us more rice and beans and one (1) "extra" cup of sauce that they charge a dollar for. First off, make the orders correctly. If it's an order for a large and you give a small, that would be fraud. As a first time customer I was very disappointed. I ordered the jerk chicken pasta which came with bread and sauce. I wasn't happy with my order because it had very little to no meat plus it was dry. So I called and a man answered but claimed that he didn't make it so he put me on the line with a lady. She stated I'd get 1/2of chicken for the inconvenience . when I arrived at the store the man who answered the phone comes out and says "if the food is all gone I'm not refunding you your money. I'm just like excuse me! No one asked for their money back I just want my order corrected. So professional ok! Firstly, the service was mediocre at best, but that's standard for a jerk spot. I was expecting the food to be amazing due to that bc usually the attitude and untimeliness is extra spice for the food but no. Just wanted some good oxtails that was nearly by so I tried them out. The portion was fine but the oxtail wasn't very tender also some pieces were mostly fat. The rice and beans were nice can't really f that up. Yams and mac were also just ok. Now the real kicker for me was the beef patty. I love a good freshly made patty and the worker told me it was made in house. When I opened it I immediately knew it was a microwaved Golden Krust. Food: Not impressed at all! The catfish was cut to thick and it was dry! Brown stew chicken was burned instead of the flavor taste it should have. Cabbage was seasoned with a funny after taste. One Stop was recommended to me by a colleague. She raved about their Jerk Chicken Alfredo, however I tried the Oxtails. While you get a lot of food, this foodie questions was it worth it? For me the answer would be no. I actually threw most of it away. The Oxtails were tough to chew and the flavor was a bit off putting. The rice and beans were good and so were the jams, but the greens missed the mark totally on flavor. I've come in 3 times now and the food is always good! The jerk chicken and oxtails are so delicious and slide right off the bone. Every time I come in Jalon is always so kind and attentive with me. July 3, 2024 I decided I wanted jerk chicken so I googled a place near me. I ordered two whole chickens because I prefer to preserve as much juice inside the chicken and I don't like my chicken chopped into pieces. When I tell you the chicken breasts were JUICY, oh wee!! I normally eat dark meat but ended up eating two of the breasts as well as the dark meat and ALL THE CHICKEN WAS JUICY!!!! I did not order sides because I'm a meat eater.
