This place was amazing! I felt like a VIP when we entered. We made a reservation but we were seated early because they had openings. We had a choice between the inside, the patio or the outdoor seating under the tents. We opted for under the tent. You could tell they had warmers if it was chilly but the weather was great! Staff were very friendly, attentive and explained the menu. The prices were great for the portion size. I really didn't expect that big of a portion! We ordered the short rib and it just melted in your mouth! The pasta was A1 as well! I will define go back for brunch with the unlimited mimosas next!

Always do my research to find the best restaurants that I can and found this one a few years ago. Loved it then and did not disappoint on our return trip this week. Arguably one of the best Italian meals I've ever had. Love the location, service was impeccable and the bread was nice and crisp. Wife said the Cesar Dressing was the best she ever had.

This place is wonderful! I came here for dinner and the following day for lunch while in town. I ordered the ravioli of the day for dinner which was fresh lobster ravioli and so delicious! For drinks I ordered a classic lychee Martini with gin and tiramisu for dessert. Everything was 10/10! Service was very friendly and kind! I appreciate how attentive and caring the staff were and many business in the area should take notes on how to provide good quality customer service. The follow day I have the Panonni pasta with sausage and a classic tomato sauce. Tony was the lovely gentlemen that waited on my table! Thank you, TONY! He's also the bartender and makes incredible drinks!

This is the part where I wax poetic about how ill-designed dining is for solo diners, and how this is doubly if not quadruply true in Italian restaurants. I want to have the pasta, but this is meant to be shared amongst the table, not devoured by one person, but I digress. I walked in during what ended up being brunch, and while the regular menu was not technically available, the bar-server offered to ask the kitchen if I wanted something specific. That something was the Tuna Tartare, which the kitchen obliged (thank you very much). While a simple dish, it was executed supremely well. The olive oil was of such quality and robust flavor I asked the kitchen what brand they use, the avocado was at the peak of ripeness, and the house-made chips were oozing with homemade perfection. The fish was of high quality, and the ginger-orange gelatine added a subtle flavor and texture which was very unique, both as a flavor, but more so in execution! Now, to be fair, while this was not my favorite iteration of this dish, it doesn't take away from the quality and precision of execution. As my main, I ordered the Basil Pesto Brunch Gnocchi. The sauce was, true to form, very earthy, creamy, and basil-y without being overpowering. The gnocchi themselves were soft and pillowy, some of the best I'd had! The accoutrements of egg, sun-dried tomatoes, and mushrooms helped add new dimensions to the dish, adding those lightly meaty, acidic, and generally umami notes. The pork belly, meanwhile, was lost on me. Coming back to this review, I was frankly surprised they were included! Maybe this is me showing why I can't hack it as a professional, paid, restaurant critic, or maybe they were in fact, omitted. An area where Ascione Bistro shines is the service. The bar-server was friendly and attentive, and the food came out reasonably fast, especially since I could see into their kitchen, the pace of which reminds me of The Bear (don't worry, no yelling or profanity could be heard). Final verdict: Ascione appears to be a very busy spot, and for good reason. They have well executed, unique, and flavorful dishes, complemented by great service. If we pretend me not picking up on the pork belly is a 'me' issue, then the experience was flawless... except that I should have found more people to come with me, as the gnocchi loaded me with carbs, and I ended up taking half-ish home.

My last visit was just a glass of wine outdoors during the summer. I've been wanting to come for a meal. Finally had my chance today. Came for an early lunch. We were greeted warmly. Our server made our mouths drool describing the specials. I even drooled over food I don't normally eat. We were given fresh out of the oven bread. We ended up with the following: Sausage and peppers Beet salad with chicken on the side. My husband enjoyed his sausage / peppers dish. It comes with potatoes. I've never had such delicious potatoes. I stole a good number of them. I shouldn't have , not because it was "rude" towards my husband, but I physically have no stomach (due to cancer not a bypass- just to make that clear. Almost 17 year survivor). I was setting myself up for fullness-too-early failure. Worth it. Ha! In my random sample , none were underdone. All perfectly seasoned. Perfectly crispy/ soft. My beet salad was light and refreshing. Each ingredient was the perfect marriage of flavor. The almonds are a good touch. Because my stomachless body requires protein, I got a side of chicken. It actually complemented the salad well. But yes I got too full. In a good way, at least. Such a nice place to have lunch! We made a good Resy choice today.

Came in for a brunch on Sunday afternoon and was seated without a reservation. I ordered the shrimp and polenta with a limoncello spritzer. My friend had a crab cake and French fries. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Service was amazing and the ambiance was great for a girls day, date, or time with family. Music was at a comfortable level for table conversation and a nice vibe. Will be back.

Usually, this is my neighborhood go to spot for lunch or dinner. Tried the brunch service and must say the Avocado toast was extremely disappointing. The toast was presented more as a side act than the main performance. The 2 pieces were insulting small . The meal consisted of mostly potatoes and a bit of salad. When asking about the size of the toast I was told this is its usual size. I say take it off the menu then!

Accione bistro is a great spot to grab a meal and a drink in Hyde park. A fairly small place but the attentive service and care was great. The food was delicious as well if you are looking for something light or more filling they have options for both. Our filet mignon was cooked to a great medium rare temp and the wedge salad and potatoes complimented the steak greatly. Also the octopus was a great option as it wasn't too crunchy or soft. I would definitely go back to this spot again for lunch or dinner.

This Hyde Park restaurant is it's not necessarily a hidden gem but one that easily I forget about and I hate that I do because the food is so good here. My friends came in here after a long day of Pickleball so we were in need of some carbs and protein and it's definitely fit the Bill. The pasta was absolutely amazing and I have them add on lobster to mine, but I was very jealous of my friend risotto that she got because hers actually came with the actual lobster tails on it which next time I go, I would definitely be getting if they still have it on the menu. The drinks were amazing and of course the bread was a favorite of ours. We were able to do a walk-in and was seated right away, which was pretty cool. Our waiter was very nice and good with recommendations to which I appreciate it because I'm sometimes gonna be a picky eater and so when asking probing questions, he answered them with grace

This is my go to restaurant for a quick date night or solo when I'm feeling like sitting down This restaurant is one of my favorite hidden place in Hyde park Chicago . The have #unlimitedmimosas for 18$ and one of the cheapest so far in Chicago . I had the *Basil Pesto Brunch Gnocchi *Pork belly, sundriedtomatoes, wild mushroomstopped with poached eggs And my date had the Nutella French Toast (V) (Which was vegetarian friendly ) Ganache, nutella , strawberries. Service was great and waiter was very attentive and come around often to ask us how we were doing and refill our water as well . Both our meal was delicious and the French toast was so good and fluffy .

What is the current price for the Fiorentina steak?

110$ with rosmerry potatoes and Tuscan beans

Just curious, what is the average wait time from when the order is placed to the meal reaching the table if dining in?

It was earlier this summer we dined outside because of pandemic. I'd say maybe 12-15 minutes at most.

    Is there a luncheon menu?

Yes, you can find a link to a .pdf of the menu on their website: http://ascionebistro.com/

But this place has the new gold standard for a meatball. It was everything you want. It is fork tender, full of flavor, no chewy ground up bits. The pizzas were authentic and thin. It just has that classic Chicago feel that makes the entire dining experience even better. And the drinks? So good! I highly recommend the Old Fashioned -- definitely one of my favorites. The reservation we got was for the patio, but when we arrived, they didn't have a table for us. We waited probably an extra 15 mins and then the lady was able to arrange an inside table for us. She had been getting a bit of lip from folks coming in just before us, and so she definitely seemed to be dishing out some lip herself. I think that should have been a better experience. I will acknowledge that we did appreciate a table inside eventually when the one just outside wasn't there. Our server once seated was like, amazing. To me she made up for the passive aggressive comments from before. She was so patient and well-spoken and all. Seemed like she was from a Michelin-star place. So to start, the Caesar salad was ok. What was nice in there, it had these crispy chips of some kind in the salad. Overall, the dressing could've been a bit more caesar-y. Then we also had these truffle oil mozzarella sticks and those were pretty amazing. Served with marinara sauce, which was pretty good. But the sticks themselves were like so cheesy and gooey and freshly made, it was great. Then for the mains, we had a vodka pasta and one other one. Both were vegetarian pasta options, which is great. Both had really nice flavored sauces and the pastas were also done right. I forgot to ask for crushed red pepper as some spice boost would've made things even better. Also, one of the pastas was a gluten free - and it was really good - in the sense that I never would've guessed that it was gf. It's a corn-based pasta, in case anyone wants to know. I really wish they had an eggplant parm, but unfortunately they had only chicken and veal parms, only. Lastly, and to top everything else off, we had a soft-serve almond-caramel (not the exact name) gelato. Wow, that was SO good. Nutty flavor and creamy rich. Probably the best course of the night. Just outstanding. I chose it based on ChatGPT recommendation and it was just spot ON. Definitely a place I'll come back to.

For dessert we had the citrus olive oil cake, and then they surprised us by gifting the table their soft serve. We absolutely did not need another bite of food at that point... and yet somehow that soft serve disappeared. It was amazing. And the service? Top notch. The fusilloni was definitely my favorite from the noodle shape to the sausage and cheese. The fritto misto was ok, the breading tasted like it was old or had been sitting out. Not as crispy as we'd hope. To be honest felt like frozen calamari quality. The Alla Vita chopped was pretty standard, kinda reminded me of Olive Garden salad lol. The stars of the meal were the tagliatelle and cappelletti pasta. Both were super flavorful and pasta cooked well. The bone-in ribeye was a little on the sweeter side, definitely lacked a crust and salt. I'd pass on the steak IMO. Our biggest qualm was the timing of the dishes coming out. The pasta came out 30-35 minutes after the appetizer and salad which is fine, but the steak coming out 15 minutes after the pasta kinda ruined it. We'd love to eat the entrees (steak and pasta) together, and not finish our pasta first or let it go cold then eat steak alone.. ya know? We had ordered crispy potatoes but cancelled due to the wait. Ended the night with mango passion fruit sorbet with a prosecco float. Big mistake on the prosecco float haha it was so tarte and bitter, would def recommend trying the sorbet alone!
