What pleasant surprise Let's Eat to Live Was! A Black-owned restaurant that focuses on healthful options which are also quite tasty is a much-needed concept. I stopped by for dine-in. You sit where you want and the young man working the restaurant was polite and attentive. I had the tomato soup, the fried whiting, brussel sprouts, green beans, and coconut rice. There wasn't a bad option among them though my personal faves were the fish and the soup. Everything was so flavorful without being excessively greasy--I felt energized instead of lethargic afterwards! Next time I'm in Chicago, I will definitely make it a point to come back.

Very cute, very fresh, very good. The lamb chops are amazing. So tender and flavorful. The garlic mashed potatoes, greens, and green beans are so tasty. The Mac and cheese and fried whiting were good too. We loved the bbq wings as well. The ambiance was beautiful with that lovely exposed brick and exquisite artwork. I really like this place and will return soon. I've been twice and the parking has been easy.

The food is fresh, cooked to order, seasoned well and simply delicious! Jackie was our server who was super sweet, attentive and professional. The ambiance gives you a feel of home and super immaculate! I will return when I visit Chi Town in the future! Just a gurrl from Cali visiting her Chi Town man ;-)

This is a nice restaurant that serves fresh and healthy foods. We came and ordered some dinners that were tasty, savory and filling. The portions of food were large enough to satisfy those with a healthy appetite. I ordered the salmon dinner that was cooked to perfection. The salmon was tender and enjoyable to eat. The rice served with the salmon was spiced perfectly. Everyone enjoyed the freshly made desserts. The cheesecake was creamy and delightful. The peach cobbler was fresh out of oven and melted in my mouth. The restaurant was clean, with friendly employees that checked in on us to make sure we were enjoying ourselves.

Escovitch Red Snapper with Mac & Cheese, Carrot Fluff and Garlic Brussels Sprouts

I went here to eat on a Saturday afternoon with a friend and had a wonderful time. Food and service were excellent and made with care. We both got the Escovitch red snapper with garlic mashed potatoes and mustard greens for one dinner and Mac n cheese, brussel sprouts and carrot fluff for the other dinner. Portions were generous and I did have leftovers for another meal. Let me tell you the fish was flaky and tender. It was also a nice portion and seasoned well. All of the sides were tasty but the winner was the carrot fluff! I know what your thinking but get it out your head! It tasted just like sweet potatoes. It was an excellent choice with the fish. Thanks Eat to Live!

This place almost seems like it could be a gem but it has the traditional "black owned" growing pains which is unfortunate. It's clean & has nice decor. The food on yelp looked appetizing so we were excited to try it. This was our 1st visit and upon entering it was not clear who was the hostess but a young lady took initiative and seated us. It took a bit for our server to reappear but when she did she was a sweetheart, very courteous & polite. While we were waiting, the back door was open letting in a very cold draft while they brought in supplies. That initially made me uncomfortable but we didn't want that to discourage us. We ordered a couple items that were "out" but we also didn't want that to discourage us. We then just decided to get our food to go ordering secondary options instead. When we got home the order was disappointing (pictured). It was just not worth it for us. I would still say try them because your experience may be different.

I finally was able to try this place. It's a small quaint place. Our server was attentive. We had the black bean burger and the estovich fish with garlic mash potatoes, string beans, and a carrot "mash". I forgot the actual name of it. The garlic mash potatoes definitely need more garlic. It wasn't enough. I barely taste it. The carrot dish was good to me. I read some negative reviews about it but I enjoyed it. I wish my fish was spicy, just my liking. Overall, the dish was light but filling. My daughter devoured her black bean burger and she's a kid. We ordered cheesecake to go and it did not disappoint.

That part was lovely because often I find that with larger groups it's hard to ensure everyone is able to interact (especially since I was taking my parents) Lamb shakshuka was a winner in my book!! So flavorful and perfect hearty brunch. The skewers my parents got were wonderfully cooked. Others got a more standard scrambled egg breakfast that they said was nothing special. Definitely opt for a Mediterranean breakfast if you're at a Mediterranean spot imo.

Technically they close at 10pm but looked like more people came in and they were placing orders. I ordered the spicy whipped feta. This was excellent! Good for sharing but filling for 1 person. Comes with rosemary pita. Yum! The bill was a little confusing as I was charged an extra $1. I asked my server why the menu showed $1 cheaper for my food. He agreed that it was wrong. Eventually a manager came out to apologize and removed $1. He mentioned prices had gone up but menu wasn't updated. I thought for all the hassle they might have comp'd something. Instead I got an apology and updated check. Decor was nice and overall ambiance. Great for groups or date night. Attached to the Hyatt hotel.

I was greeted by friendly employees at two counters, one for Andy's Sunflower cafe which sells coffee and tea, and one for food (Ain't She Sweet). I had no idea what to order so I asked the teammate at the counter and after discussing my spice tolerance, decided to go for the Jerk Chicken Wrap since it's so popular. It was a bit spicer than medium, which I was warned, but it was worth it. The chicken was juicy and tender and I was impressed by the freshness of the other ingredients as well as their tortilla wrap selection! The chicken gumbo was also quite tasty. I would order both again. The prices were reasonable, it was a $3 upcharge for a side of soup. I sat in the restaurant to eat and enjoyed the music. I think I might have found my new lunch spot!

I was very surprised. The banana cake is delicious and moist. It's heavenly!!!!!! My jerk wrap was amazing!
