We opted to use the opportunity to do a little remodeling work in the process. Kaleidoscope came recommended by my neighbor across the street who had already started his rebuilding project. I talked to Jamie from Kaleidoscope as well as two other contractors to secure bids. Kaleidoscope came in cost competitive, but more importantly I felt more comfortable with Jamie than with other contractors. Jamie spent much more time working through the options with me, explained everything clearly and generally gave me much more confidence that this wasn't going to be one of those projects where I felt frustrated and disappointed at the end and was in the dark on what was going on or where I'd constantly have to chase after and push the contractor. That proved to be an accurate expectation throughout the process. While it wasn't a remodeling we would have chosen to take on, it was a good experience. Jamie was always available to talk, work through things, talk through alternatives, talk through costs of different options and I found him to be extremely flexible. His team was very professional, got work done efficiently and did a good job. Where sub-contractors came into play, given strong demand for workers I knew going in that there might be delays or other issues. Any time contractor availability became a challenge, Jamie always had a secondary plan ready to be implemented and everything moved along pretty smoothly. In the end, we had to slow down the project on our end as our insurance adjuster was slow and it began to look likely we'd be finished before ever receiving a flood insurance check. While I'm sure he would have liked to press forward and finish the work, he was more than happy to slow things down and time completion to where we wouldn't be put under a financial squeeze. Since completion, as you'd expect we have had a couple of things pop up and Jamie has dealt with them immediately and resolved the issue. He didn't just disappear once the job was done, he's been available to handle issues as well as to provide advice on things unrelated to the job. The experience was for us so positive that when we needed to tear our our walkway and replace it later on in the year, we went straight to Jamie and were again happy with the results.

Integrity: Have you ever had your contractors back out out or come late or re-write the change order for work? Not Pinnacle. They worked with us during the entire process and were timely, respectful and thoughtful in craftmanship and delivery. We had cabinet built ins put into our home. They were the focal point of my living room. Jeff took my conceptual drawings and worked with his crew to make a beautiful product! His woodworking crew always sought perfection in design and craftsmanship. To the point that they improved on things I did not even see or realize. It's like they were building personal cabinets in their own home. Same with the paint crew who stayed late to rework items they were not happy with. In a time of high demand, everyone at Pinnacle placed quality over speed. You just cannot find this type of quality and ethic frequently. Responsiveness: I called an uncountable number of contractors, Jeff was able to visit our home within 24 hours and yield a quote shortly thereafter. DishonestDishonest, Crooked,  Does Not Pull Permits, Delayed By 6 Months  Arrogant and Rude…read more The Contract We hired Hann Builders in September 2018 to help us Remodel after Hurricane Harvey. We paid Steven Hann 290,000 to bring the house back to original condition plus a few upgrades. Steven promised he would have the house completed by January latest February of 2019.  Delays Steven delayed the projected 6 months he was still working on the house in August of 2019. Steven blamed everyone but himself, he blamed his manager Logan Lippoldt who he said was incompetent, he then blamed the mortgage company because he said they delayed the payments from the flood insurance check. He then blamed us for taking too long to come up with decisions such as paint. I originally told Steven my business partners and I were looking for a contractor to help us build out 5-10 retail stores. After the house was delayed multiple months and I asked Steven how can I trust you to build the stores in a timely manner his response was it's no skin off my nose if I don't get the job. I have more work then I can handle. Arrogant and Rude Steven would constantly have massive blowouts with everyone on the project. Logan Lippoldt his site manager left Hann Builders in the middle of the project. Stevens other trades people would complain to me that Steven would not pay them which demotivated them from working diligently on the project. Steven would have massive blowouts with both my mother and father who are both senior citizens.  Dishonest and Crooked Steven would constantly cut corners to save himself money on the project. Our window trims were originally an expensive stained wood trim but Steven replaced it with a cheap regular white trim. Then He painted the rest of the frames to make it match. Our crown molding was a high grade stained would as well. Steven used a faux paint for the crown molding he applied which is noticeably different from the stained wood. Please review the pic below of the stained wood meeting faux paint. Steven would also always mention that his people had to do additional work and he applied for credit from another portion of the job. On a few occasions he asked me to pay his trades people. I had a contract with Steven Hann the contractor and not his tradesmen. I have no idea why he requested for me to pay his tradesmen when I had already negotiated a price with him. Steven also incorrectly installed our kitchen island and then when we told him he made a mistake he told us he would redo it if we paid half for the the material he destroyed.  Did not Pull Permits Steven did not pull a single permit for the job. In our contract it clearly states Steven would pull the permits and he allotted over 1000.00 of the budget for permits but he did not pull a single permit. When it came for me to have my gas meter installed the city informed me Steven had not pulled a single permit and we would have to apply for a building permit, plumbing permit and electrical permit. When I informed Steven of this he quit picking up my calls leaving the house incomplete. We paid him everything except $5000.00 so my assumption is he decided it was more headache then it was worth. It cost us an additional $7000 to pull the permits and Steven left the house incomplete with no railings for the staircase. He also promised a 1 year warranty which he obviously is not planning on honoring. The city permitting officials took exceptional offense to Stevens' actions since I was a Harvey victim. The are strongly encouraging me to report Steven to State Attorney General's Office for not pulling permits and walking out on the job and breaching the contract

I've been putting it off because, let's face it, sometimes dealing with the neighbors is more trouble than it's worth. Tyler came out the day I called to give me an estimate, and had the work done the next week. He even came out the next day to address a small concern of the neighbor related to the uneven height of the yard on his side of the fence. Overall we were very happy with the work performed. What I love most is not everything went as planned but any issues and concerns were addressed and corrected. The carpet in our son's room was stained. The plastic tore and construction dust and feet stained it. Scott had it cleaned and it didn't come up so they had it replaced. No arguments from them. They are not the cheapest, but they justify their price with their work. My wife and I are extremely happy with Unique and will use them again if we have any other home remodeling needs.

Throughout the process, I faced persistent pressure to sign an incomplete, haphazardly drafted contract for a major six-figure remodel before design deliverables were finalized, all while being prevented from collaborating directly with the interior designer until the construction contract was signed off. When I challenged the unexpected costs, the response was contentious and retaliatory, including warnings of an uncompromising "zero tolerance" policy for future site expenses rather than constructive collaboration. Although Ronen later attempted to reconcile, the combination of incomplete documentation, withheld deliverables, and an adversarial dynamic led me to terminate the relationship prior to construction and transition the project to another contractor.

When I contacted him, he said it was because he never received my Zelle payment. Instead of simply letting me know there was an issue beforehand, he chose not to communicate at all. When I tried to resolve the situation, I was met with a rude attitude rather than professionalism. Overall, this was an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience, and I would not recommend working with him.
