I was worried at first because my wife's condition made her not trust anyone and lash out at them. After meeting the 2 wonderful, professional, and compassionate women who run the home, I thought it might just work out after all. It has now been going on 6 months of her being cared for there, and she is doing great. I don't honestly think that she would be doing this well without living in the Eagle Care Home.

Attendants would come into my home and pull out their cell phones and play games instead of having any eye to eye contact or any communitcation with me as their client.

We couldn't have done it without help from Sisters Care!…read more Our mother broke her ankle and needed inpatient rehab after the surgery to repair it. She is also in stage 5 Alzheimer's dementia and had a very bad reaction to the anesthesia used during the surgery; a very common side effect for those with dementia. Family members and friends were by her side all day and evening, but we didn't have anyone who could be there at night. Mom was having extremely vivid nightmares and would be very upset when she woke up in the middle of the night disoriented and feeling an urgent need to get out of bed and run away! Sisters Care from The Village at Incarnate Word provided the overnight coverage for us. The "angels" who helped Mom were able to reorient and help her to calm down so she could go back to sleep. They also kept her from walking on her broken ankle before it was sufficiently healed. I wish I could mention each of our caregivers directly.... Cornelius, Scott and Corey have increased my strength, while reducing my anxiety due to balance issues. They are all courteous and empathic. The exercises are increasing my core strength and have lessened my self-consciousness about my gait and other significant disabilities. Cynthia has been my advocate. She has encouraged me to alter my lifestyle to move through my place and the world much better. I am gaining confidence to ask my physicians for help in my visits. She has taught me to advocate for myself. JB, who answers my calls, is also extremely patient and helpful. I still have many problems, but I also realize that I have been blessed by having access to Enhabit's stellar employees. Amidst the fear and chaos that came with hospice and the unknown, our caretakers went above and beyond to make my father's final weeks as comfortable as possible. Our first night home, where we were at our most unsure, Maria Lerma came as if an angel. She brought with her a sense of calm and peace that we really needed. Upon finding out we are Catholic, Maria took the time to pray the rosary with my father as he fell asleep. It was at that moment that I felt, as if in answer to a prayer, "You're going to be ok." The next day, we were blessed with Pius, who stayed with us every weekday (and sometimes more) until the end. There are so many things I could say about Pius and how wonderful he was. He went above and beyond with my father. Not only did he take the time to get to know my father but also helped him keep his dignity as best he could. For someone as strong and intelligent as my father was, I know how frustrating it could be for people to come in and talk down to him or treat him as less than. Pius was never that way. They regularly would chat or just sit and watch the news together. Even toward the end when my father was no longer waking up, Pius still made it a point to turn on the news, saying that he believed it calmed my father. That attention and care was exactly what we needed. There were several other caretakers who went above and beyond that deserve recognition like Destiny who jumped right in and showed initiative, taking great care of him on the weekends. Also, Katy who spent many nights up with him getting him whatever he requested and never batting an eye. And finally Raedarianna (Rae) who was there on my father's last night when he passed peacefully. No amount of training can prepare you for a night like that. Even after his passing, she stayed with my daughter and I, offering condolences and comfort until hospice came to pronounce him. That time was some of the hardest of my life. But our caretakers were a light in a dark storm. Even when we had a rough caretaker, Griswald handled it immediately. This is a company that puts the families they care for first. Even through immense grief, it gives me peace, knowing that my father had a team of people caring for him with all they had. He deserved nothing less.

This does not work well when the family member responsible for the resident tries to schedule service in order to travel. It does not matter how good the caregivers are, if the family member cannot get confirmation of service, they either have to risk not getting service or cancel their travel. My loved one is too important for me to take that risk. I fired Family Tree after my third time having communication challenges.

En Su Casa has been a life-saver for my parents, one of whom is 75-years-old and has limited…read moremobility, and the other is 80-years-old. The En-Su-Casa caregiver has worked with my parents for nearly two years. She has helped keep my parents' home clean and prepares nutritious meals for them as well. She also accompanies my parents to doctor's appointments and errands. And she only is with them a total of about 20 hours a week! The caregiver isn't the only great thing about En Su Casa. The staff is professional, resourceful, and communicative. At the onset of our working with them, they provided us all of the information that we needed to be able to choose them among other service provides. And since then, they are always available to us, especially during emergencies. Because of En Su Casa, my parents have been able to stay in their home and not go into an assisted living facility. Though, when it is time for that transition, I trust En Su Casa to provide me with counsel. The staff know the business, and I trust them. I'll add that it took a few caregivers to find the right fit--a total of three--but even those individuals who ended up not staying with my parents acted in a professional manner. Not only did they not notify us the first caregiver was no longer available and they had switched caregivers, but we get a call from her memory care facility with a complaint that the new caregiver we were unaware she had was aggressively grabbing our loved one and forcing them to sit while the caregiver scrolled her phone. She apparently stayed on her phone the majority of the time she was with her the week we had no idea this lady was even there. Then the third attempted caregiver they sent started fine the first week.... however, since has had complaints from the memory care staff of potentially being high while caregiving, again on their phone like the last one, and was caught being gone from the facility by me in person during the hour she was "clocked in" with the staff saying she left to an appointment. She had the nerve to come back, meet me and see me there, and then clock out at her usual time even though she had been gone the last hour. I do not trust the hiring process these caregivers undergo.... I feel like we threw away money for the last two months of caregiver services.... Not planning to use them ever again.
