The prices were competitive with Home Depot, but still a little higher. At the checkout the yard worker was there and he was acting angry about my order. I said "is there a problem with my order?" He responded with anger and said "do I have a frickin choice?" I told him I would load it up myself and he didn't have to worry about it. It was 3:30pm, not 3:55 right before close or something. When I was backing my truck up I could see him angrily ranting to his coworker. When I got out he just said "open the back of your truck...." Choosing to order me around instead of interact with me like a costumer. It took less than 5 minutes for me and the two workers to load the blocks. The unprovoked rudeness has made sure I'll never spend another dollar at Hardware Hawaii. Unless you enjoy being treated badly, spend your money at Home Depot.

When…read moreyou get crafty many times I head to the hardware store as what I call beginner tools aren't just enough like I have my Dremel to drill, PVC pipes to make a photo backdrop, chains for a makeshift lock as being creative not only does saves you money but solves issues in the simplest ways that works. Today it was a simple just some acetone as I wanted to wipe off paint and the basic store bought stuff just won't do it and as small as this shop seems to be they do have it all and was very easy to find than the larger ones as it literally took me a minute to find it and a minute to reach to the register without a wait and was on my way faster than taking the needed pics to show off this great Kailua location. If needed staff is very easy to find here but as I knew exactly what I wanted it was okay and parking in the back is spacious with short walks to the automatic doors is just nice to have a quick spot to find exactly what you need without being lost as I finished my project so easily. Called the following morning to speak to the GM and Maryann had picked up and said he is not in and don't know when he will be in, so I had asked her, why did you tell me to call at 7:30am to speak to the GM she replied " are you calling to make trouble? your a trouble maker! stop making trouble you GIRL!" and hung up. But step in powerhouses of Home Depot that opened in Iwilei in 1999 and then Lowe's Home Improvement (LHI), that took over Eagle Hardware and Garden in Waikele and then opened this location in Iwilei in 2011. LHI originated in North Carolina in 1921 and has expanded to over 1700 locations nationwide. They also tested their home improvement business in neighboring Canada and Mexico but currently only focuses in the United States. I've been to LHI a handful of times and although I'm not a professional, I've noticed the pricing here is more economical than their rivals but lacks in the customer service. It can be very challenging at times so reach out to a sales associate for assistance. I do like there's also ample parking and multiple entries to LHI as Nimitz Highway can be congested during peak hours so it's better to enter here from the back entrance. I recently came here to shop for refrigerators as they also carry a large selection. Luckily my BIL accompanied me and he's quite knowledgeable with the different features and various companies. There were some questions we had and unfortunately it wasn't easy to flag down an associate. We did come across several not to far away but they were either huddled up socializing or not available as this guy was busy with his cellphone. Although LHI had a model that I was interested in as well as less expensive for an identical model, i ended up selecting a refrigerator with their main competitor. It doesn't hurt to do due diligence. LHI is a great option for those who are knowledgeable in this field and don't need much service. But for your everyday average Joe, customer service could be better here to address questions and concerns to home improvement.
