The cargo bike shop was less than helpful. My husband took my bike to Chilkoot Cyclery (which doesn't even sell Tern bikes) and they discovered that it was missing an important piece to the drive train and was causing my chain to rub on the frame. The team at Chilkoot went above an beyond helping us solve the mystery. They called Tern and ordered a replacement part, installed it, and gave my bike a tune up for a very reasonable price. I have since learned to change my own flat and was able to do it myself (4" fat tire) with no issues at all so I would expect a bike mechanic to be able to handle changing a tire without any issues? The owner was very helpful and they are one of a few Rad Power Bike dealers (the brand of bike I own) so I'd really like to rely on them if I could. Good shop location and I was able to get same day service which can be nearly impossible - some shops are a month out for getting work done.

My bike was repair where I could ride again but it was not the same as before accident. As the weather is starting to be nice out, I took my bike down to ride and the brakes were not very tight and the gears were not shifting smoothly as before. I did a search for bike tune ups near me and Velofix came up on the search again. I was going to take my bike to Nokomis Bike shop but after my husband went to check it out, they have an undetermined time frame of when the bike would be worked on so I decided to schedule an appt with Velofix. Luckily, they had one opening left for Thursday May 20. Prices were comparable to Nokomis Bike Shop for a basic tune up. It was great because Velofix came to my house and worked on the bike right in their mobile van and was done in an hour. Brant was friendly and good to work with. I did my check in and got a surprised check in offer for a free cooling towel with any service but I didn't save the offer and so I'm not able to pull it up again. I told Brant that and he was surprised of the offer and didn't have any cooling towels available. Overall, I would recommend Velofix because of the convenience, pricing and friendly staff.

The water was fairly shallow and easy to navigate. It took us maybe 2.5 hours for our kayak trip with beautiful scenery. We saw deer, 2 fawns with spots and a doe. We saw two bald eagles and 1 golden eagle, blue herons, turtles, kingfisher, turkey vulture etc. The parking is free; there is a bathroom where you put in. You need to sign waivers before going. They offer PFDs to everyone; under 18 must wear PFD.

This area is beautiful and we saw many Bald Eagles as we strolled down the Cannon River. I don't think this was too expensive and it was a lot of fun. We had not been kayaking before and my wife was clueless. I had used canoes when I was a kid and had been up to the Boundary Waters, I felt okay. We told the people that it was our first time and without much of any instruction, they put her in the kayak and away she went. I felt like they could have done anything to make her more comfortable. The rental area is a shack, basically. They put you in kayaks and then pick you up in an hour from departure at the pick up point. Look for the large pink rock, that is where you exit the river to be picked up. We had the last time slot with several people overturning and having to empty their kayak, not me, I stayed dry. The people that had to drain their kayak wasted a lot of time and we were late to our pick-up at the end of the day when you know they wanted to go home and start their weekend. I felt bad but it wasn't my fault. This was a fun time. I would recommend that you have some experienced people to help you if you are new at this. The people running this place are not interested in spending time teaching you how to stay dry. That is up to you.
