I tried their beef pho and I really liked the flavor of their broth. It came deconstructed with the meat, noodles and broth packaged separately. Keep in mind the meat is sliced thin and typically comes undercooked with to go orders. The meat gets cooked with the hot broth. So when ordering to go, you have to basically boil the broth again to get it really hot to make sure it finishes cooking your meat. You also can flash heat the meat by itself in microwave. I'm giving 5 stars because the restaurant went over and beyond. I had placed my order on door dash 30 min before their closing time. It was 10 min past their closing time and the dasher still had not shown up to pick up my order. The restaurant called me that they were waiting so they can leave. I tried calling the dasher and no answer. So I called the restaurant back and they asked what my address was and brought the food to me. That was service beyond required. I felt bad that I didn't have cash to tip the driver and asked him for his zelle or cash app. He said don't worry about it and we can do it next time we come to the restaurant. read more

Before I leave my review, let me just start out by saying the food was tasty. I had the beef pho and my mom had the chicken pho. We both enjoyed our food. Now on to the reason why I'm giving this place a one star. The service. The service was absolutely appalling toward us. It felt like we were last on the waiter's list of things to do, with EVERYTHING. And it was NOT busy. It was 3 other parties in there at the time. First, he didn't even ask us what we wanted to drink, I just happened to ask if there were sodas, which he didn't bring out until AFTER the food was on the table. He didn't tell us about the lunch special even though what we ordered happened to be on the lunch special, he didn't tell us about the free milk tea on Mondays, I watched a table make a request and then I made a request for to go boxes and he addressed every other party (by then more people came in) but ours. And the icing on the cake was he stopped me in mid sentence to address the table behind us first. It was blatant discrimination toward us and it was unacceptable. Pretty much a go to spot when in Pearland and craving Vietnamese food. Ong Jas is a cute restaurant that offers a variety of Vietnamese food ranging from pho to banh mi and rice dishes. My favorite menu item from here would have to be the Bot Chien found on their appetizer menu. It's great to share with others and the dipping sauce/pickled vegetables go well with it. I typically get their rice dishes, but I've also had a chance to try their pho and garlic noodles. The pho is okay in my opinion, and the garlic noodles are good but can get a little heavy. The Com Thit Nuong (Grilled Pork) is typically what I get and overall I think is pretty good. The service is typically pretty good and they have plenty of room for large and small parties. It was interesting to see pho served in a hot pot style with the stone bowl, not something you would typically see. I tasted the pho broth and felt that it lack the authenticity of what you would expect. Understandably that each place has their own spin on their version of pho but what I didn't like was a certain artificial taste from the broth. My son and I both chose the stone bowl pho. You have the option to select between regular noodles or fresh noodles. It is highly recommended to opt for the fresh noodles! The noodle is exceptionally soft and literally melts in your mouth. The proteins and fresh noodles are served on a separate plate. The meats are remarkably tender and the broth is richly savory. This is one of those places way out of my way, but hey, will travel for food! Found this because hubs' job takes him around town and he popped in here on a whim one day for lunch. He brought me on a weekend and it lit a fire for pho for me. I've tried Ong Jas at lunch, on weekends, and at dinner. We've done a sampling of a bunch of things on the menu, but the bahn mi that comes on the skillet and the pho is what shines and the pho is what keeps me coming back. I'm sure it's personal preference on broth and I couldn't tell you what they do with theirs, but big fan here. I'm partial to be filet (or eye of round depending on where you go). Worth a note - the small human is *picky* when it comes to pho/ ramen and he enjoys it here. Haven't had anything resembling bad service to date so +1 for consistency. I ordered the OJ's Vemicelli (based off the photo, I don't remember if it was grilled chicken or grilled pork, they are both $11.50 though). I loved the ambiance of this little place. Overall it was a good experience, not great but good enough. I came here for a bday dinner with a group of yelpers. Apparently, the place has only been open for 3 months, so it's very new. It was surprisingly a sparse crowd for a Saturday afternoon. I stopped by here as I was in Pearland for a work training and got a 45 minute lunch. I drove over around 1115am, no one was here so I sat down and ordered a nice big bowl of pho. It was cold out so this was more than soothing my belly. Food came out quick and I was able to return to my training with no problem. The place is clean and shares a parking lot with other establishments in the center. Single stall restroom and you pay at the counter. They give a lot of noodles The beef pho for adults, the fatty brisket hard fat wasn't removed, causing it very hard to chew. But other cuts of meat is good quality. We ordered two plates of it. one plate had nice cuts of meat on it and the Other one is nothing but far no meat. So it looked like the plate was barely touched.
