I have had chips repaired over the years w/out incidents. This is the first time a company failed. Very frustrated and disappointed of this company. The chip was at the bottom and left me a crack what appears to be unrelated in the middle of the windshield. They advised there were no guarantees and to replace it for under $900. My 2 week road trip lead to 3 windshield dings. My insurance covered it but the competition was slow to schedule. I called Only 1 because they had previously done a chip repair for free years ago. They were quick to schedule me and offered to come to me or I could go to them. I chose the latter. I went to the location in Golden Valley and was promptly greeted my the tech. He advised it would take about and hour. I sat in the lobby which had a tv, chairs, coffee and mini fridge with soda. I arrived at 12:40 and they were done at 1:04. I was advised not to get a car wash for 24hrs and off. No need to sign anything. Bonus points for putting my seat back for me before handing off they keys. Two things come to mind here: 'Amazing service' and 'Carrie is awesome'! One of the only places in the cities that was open on a Saturday. Two idiot young criminals tried breaking into my car and smashed the back side window out. On a vehicle that is a popular target, that window was extremely difficult to find. Safelite Auto Glass wanted nearly $1K for it--which is insane--and more than a week to get it replaced. Only1 could do it for less than half that cost. Carrie from Only1 helped me keep my sanity. I wasn't sure I wanted to file a claim with my auto insurance because I hadn't looked at the fine print for auto glass replacement (deductible or no?), and I didn't know if anyone could even find a window before temps dipped down to the single digits in the next few days. Carrie got my insurance on the phone with us on a three-way and we both tried to work out the details but my insurance was sending us over the hill and through the woods with no clear answer. Through all of this, Carrie was always positive, bright and upbeat. She was kind, caring and aware of my hellish overnight work schedule. By chance, Carrie was able to get a replacement for my side window within a day or two, once my insurance got their ducks in a row. They put me down for an appointment pretty much the day after and then my vehicle's window was replaced--good as new! The shop was very easy to find and I had no trouble finding a spot to park. Indoors, the shop was clean, warm and office-like. Carrie's desk was right at the front so we were finally able to meet after that adventure with my insurance. My hubs had tagged along and we were directed to the waiting room after handing my vehicle keys over to an older gentleman who worked in the shop. The waiting room had a large screen TV, several chairs, and an area with refreshments (well-stocked mini-fridge, coffee maker, hand sanitizer, etc). Everything was very clean and spaced out so you weren't sitting right next to anyone. There were two older gentlemen in the waiting room having a nice chat (despite the slight language/cultural barrier) about the news on TV--you don't often see this in waiting rooms anymore, too many folks on their phones nowadays. When the coffee maker had a slight hiccup (one of the older guys tried to get coffee), everyone in the room came forward to help. Man! What kind of place draws kind strangers in as customers??? I think my hubs and I waited about an hour and a half. I was able to catch part of the heart-pounding Japan vs Spain FIFA game--oof, that was intense! Spain was leading 1-0. Went home not knowing who would win though I was rooting for Samurai Blue. All the broken glass had been vacuumed up. New window rolled up and down without issue. Even the shade was working again (it wouldn't pull up before because of the broken glass). It was SO nice to be able to drive without a loud plastic bag rippling in the wind and not losing precious heat in this weather. My sincerest thanks to Only1 Auto Glass and Carrie! Also, as a kind of footnote: My hubs, who is incredibly discerning about service, was quite impressed/happy with this business (it helps that their mini-fridge stocked his favorite drink (a rarity) and their coffee maker also made hot chocolate). We caught a rock which put an 8" crack in our windshield. Called our insurance agent looking for an appropriate shop and were given Only 1 Auto Glass. From the time we received a call from Only 1 Auto Glass until I drove out of their lot with a new windshield was only 19hrs. I only spent an hour in the shop's waiting room. Our car has a tinted windshield and lane departure cameras which needed recalibration after the windshield replacement. All of this was handled as part of the Only 1 Auto Glass service. I needed a relatively small repair with my windshield and after many failed attempts at getting this resolved with Honda these guys took care of the issue so quickly and easily I wish I had never even bothered with the dealership! When Only 1 repaired a chip in my windshield the technician, Tyler, let me know that it was a bit large for fixing with a fill in. He let me know that I should drive it a few days and if I wasn't satisfied, they would replace the windshield. When I called a few days later to request a replacement, Diana worked with my insurance company to make the process seamless. They also schedule around my work schedule so I didn't have to miss much work to drive to their shop to have the work completed. Tyler did great work and he has good customer service. Technician (Brad) somehow bent my fender into my car. I now can't even barely open my car door because it's so messed up. The technician told me it's because I have an old car. He was clearly leaning very hard on my fender and he also told me it was a difficult windshield to replace (used a lot of force). Brad also left his own power tool on top of my engine and slammed the hood on top of it. I watched the whole thing and this man denied it until the end. I have been in contact with the company (Diane) she had been polite so far and they will be sending someone to look at my car on Thursday. Edit- Company has given me reimbursement for the incident. Garage door CRUSHED my windshield Wednesday.....called to see if they could get me in....mobile service?... Scheduled me for 8a the next day!! The Tech called to say he'd be there in 10 minutes. Called when he got there to let me know he was starting. There were little shards of glass across the dash and some in the passenger seat.... He got them ALL!! He was gone in about 45 minutes, just left the receipt on the seat!! Fast. Professional. Friendly. Great work! I used this company four years ago when a vandal broke the two side windows.....why I chose to go with them over the six companies my insurer gave me as options. Recommended by my auto insurance with full coverage. They are situated in what used to be a fire station. Nice people at the door with a closed space for customers to wait in (with tea and coffee provided). They finished installing the new windshield and realigning my eyesight in my car in less than two hours. Once done, they were able to summarize how they've tested to make sure my eyesight was working and to make sure not to wash my car for at least a day.
