They cancelled my appointment, which I found out via text. When I tried to reschedule by text, the bot asked for the same information 3 times. When I called, I got an answering machine. Then I received a text saying, "It looks like you'd like a quote," and then, "Will you be using insurance?" That was information I'd given them when I scheduled the first time. I'm not going through the same intake process twice, especially because they were the ones who cancelled. USAA partners with Safelite, that should tell you enough. Everything was easy-peasy. Made the appointment from my phone, the tech came on the early end of between 8am-12pm on a Saturday. The guy was very polite and courteous, and mindful of my car. He did a great job replacing things and though I just went with the base windshield, the glass quality seems nice. 2nd time getting glass replaced in MN. 1st time set an appointment at a competitor, will update with name after. Got there 10 min before per suggestion. About 45-60 min later i was out. This time i can to Safelite since bc they had earliest appt. Was also asked to come in 10 min before which i did. 2 hours later as Im waiting in the lobby and 2 other ppl that came after had already left with their cars windshield fixed, I get a phone call from Safelite letting me know my car is ready. Everyone else had a tech come get them in person. The tech said he didnt know i was waiting. This was poor internal communication and i asked if waiting 2 hours was normal, apparently its is...for me, but not for the 2 other ppl that came after me. Ill leave it at that and will not come back. The other strange part. Safelite called me at 3:51pm letting me know my car was ready. The tech mentioned dont wash for 48 hours. I scheduled an appointment to replace my windshield two weeks earlier. I arrived ten minutes prior to my appointment and was told it would be about 90 minutes. After an hour they still hadn't started working on the car, and then told me a part did not come with the windshield and the n ten minutes later they found it. It was now 90 minutes past my appointment time. I asked them to bring the car out as I needed to leave. Possibly the poorest customer service I have experienced. This was my fourth time needing a new windshield. Safelite was easy to get a quote from and easy to schedule to get in. Finding the store front was the only complaint I really have. Have to go around the buildings...which I'm sure they hear about constantly. Anyway, the technician Michael was awesome. He came to give me an update when he realized it was taking longer than normal. He apologized for the wait but assured me he'd get the job done right. After waiting the cashier told me she'd discount me for the wait time. That was very kind as this wasn't Safelite who messed up the windshield initially. Michael promised me it wouldn't take much longer and he was correct. He again apologized for the wait but wanted to make sure my windshield was installed properly for safety, to which I thanked him. I was super excited about it because they came to my workplace and put it on and it was SO convenient for me. So great. Loved it. Fast forward to this year: my windshield cracked again. And I thought oh crap--Safelite isn't as awesome as I thought they were. Fast forward to today: they came and checked out my car for a warranty inspection only--but the technician, Gary, had a replacement windshield as well just in case. I was told the time to complete the job was 2 to 2.5 hours. I dropped my car off 50 minutes before my appointment. I left and came back in 3 hours which was 2 hours into the appointment. I received an email at 2:07 stating my car was being worked on. When I came back at 4 the front desk person asked if I was here for the Civic. I waited until 430 and asked on the status of my car. I was told 15 minutes. At 5 I asked again and was told it was done. When I drove away I still had warning lights for the windshield calibration blinking. I called the next morning and was told they still needed to complete the calibration. Connie the person at the front desk is very unprofessional and argues with the customer . This was one of the worst experiences I have encountered. The tech who came out immediately told me that he has never installed a passenger rear window for my truck before...? The channel was bent where the glass travels up and down. The tech tried using a hammer to straighten out the frame and scratched the door of my truck. He also scratched the window frame trying to install the glass in the back door. This tech was sloppy and could careless about a customer's vehicle. I ended up having to file a claim with my insurance and safelite cooperate office/warranty department. What a hassle! I would not recommend using this particular shop since the manager came out to finish up the job and stated that there was damage pre existing.....? If your insurance company advises you to this shop you are better off going to a shop of your choice!!! read more

Not impressed. Scheduled an appointment for them to come to me and made plans for the time without the vehicle. Technician called me 20 minutes before the appointment and asked me to bring it into the shop because "it's too cold" (25 degrees out, no wind, no precipitation, car in a closed garage). Told me on the phone the service would take an hour. When I arrived the time increased to 90 minutes. Took 1 hour and 45 minutes. Sitting. In their waiting room. NO WIFI. What kind of a place makes you wait that long without some excellent broadband wifi? It's 2020. If you're not going out in the winter, don't schedule appointments to do so. If you're going to give a time, please don't be overly optimistic. If you're going to have people sit around waiting for service, provide WiFi. Addendum: 1/4/20. I thought this episode of extraordinarily poor customer service was over, especially after the bland reply from Safelite. So imagine my surprise when this morning, a Saturday morning with conditions almost identical to 4 days ago except far less sunny, the Safelite Mobile Van pulls up to my neighbors house and proceeds to change their windshield in the driveway. Today was a bad day! The art of customer service and business accountability has vanished. I had a small chip from a rock from the highway, it was a size of a pen tip. Not wanting to crack further, I set up a chip repair "with their patent resin". The tech was on site for a few minutes, then told me he further damaged the glass so now it is unrepairable and I have to pay out of pocket to replace the damage he had done. He was going to do nothing until I insisted he adjust the latch. Overall I was referred to them by my insurance company and I regret not taking it to the dealer to have the job done right. Safelite was scheduled to come to my home through my insurance company. They are a preferred company for them. The technician showed up on time, however when he was getting ready to place the windshield into the setting I noticed it had a crack and chip at the bottom. I pointed this out and asked if this was still safe to install? He insisted it was not an issue and not a safety hazard. I trusted ji as the professional and allowed him to continue. He finished the job and left. About three days later my windshield broke again. I again had Safelight come out to change it at my home. This technician was beside himself. Why you ask? Well it seems the first Safelite technician from a few days earlier made his job very difficult because he had broken the clips. He didn't break just one, he broke several. He the. Over glued to compensate. But what really got me was his reaction to that technician installing the windshield with a crack and chip in it. I then found this very alarming so I started to call around and ask questions. What I found out really upsets me. Never should a new windshield be installed if it's compromised in any way. It's a safety hazard!!! This technician installed it and assured me it wasn't an issue. Let me just say the safety part of this is enough to send me over the edge. First off my technician was AMAZING! Things that need improvement include having the proper windshield available. I called on a Monday to set up my appointment the soonest I was available to get in was on Friday afternoon. Friday comes and they are supposed to come to my work and the technician called and asked if I would be able to come to the store and do it earlier. I explained I could do that but I did need to get back to work. Considering they were supposed to be doing it at my job site I would think that they would've at least offered to pay for the Uber or lift for me to get back to my work. So I dropped it off at their convenience. As soon as I was getting ready to leave they texted us and reports to me they don't have the right windshield. The windshield in my vehicle was tinted along the top and the windshield they had for me was not tinted along the top. I was then told I would have to wait until the next week Wednesday before I would be able to get it put in. I asked about checking other locations around the cities to see if they had any available and he said his manager told him they are not allowed to do that. I think there's a simple solution to this problem change your website design so when a person reports they need a windshield there able to click on if it is a tinted one or not. Considering I've already waited five days for my windshield to find out I was having the wrong one installed was upsetting. So for future customers of Safelite I would make sure that when you are setting up your appointment today have the proper windshield. Lastly, since they did not do the work at my job site my technician returned the car to me and I actually had to give him a ride back to work. Which was fine and I had offered that. There should just be better communication or other alternatives if they decide they're not going to do the job at your work site they should be providing us customers with Uber or lift or cab fare so their staff can continue to work. My technician probably spent 20 minutes bringing my car to me then another 20 minutes getting back to work and he probably waited about 10 minutes for me we're looking at almost an hour of time the technician last on putting windshield in because he had to deliver a vehicle and wait for a ride back. This business is awfully booked up and it takes so long to get an appointment and I don't understand why they would have their technicians wasting their time on rides and delivering vehicles instead of putting the windshields in. read more

I was absolutely amazed at the great customer service of Safelite. From the minute you walk in the door of their shop to the minute you leave, your and your vehicle are their most important things. The inside of the car was clean and the window was the cleanest it's been this winter. We actually had both windshields replaced on our 2 cars the day. They worked on them simultaneously and we were done in an hour and a half. Both gentleman (and I do not use that term loosely) were polite and professional. I had 2 appointments with Safelight for 2 different vehicles that were hit by storm damage. 1 needed an entire new windshield, the other got by with some chip repair. These cars were in 2 different locations. They coordinated so well with me and kept me posted on the work itself and progress. I was able to get both my cars fixed without missing 5 min of work! One person came to my job to fix the chips and another came to my home to replace the broken windshield and I did have to do a thing!
