It needed to be shortened in the waist, let out in the chest, and hemmed shorter, basically a remake and I had less than two weeks. (Yes I put it away in the back of my closet and ignored it the day I got it because it looked so bad on me) It was no problem for them. Absolutely fantastic. He did an amazing job on two of my blazers and he completely restructured one of my shirts. On top of his fantastic work I paid a very fair price for all of these jobs, easily 50% below other shops around Nashville. Not only was the price fair but he also gave spot on advice to achieve my desired look. His input was a nice change of pace to the silence elsewhere. His turn around is about a week give or take a day. More complicated jobs obviously took a little longer. This is now my go to tailor. read more

I had a really negative experience here. I had gotten an amazing deal on a maxi skirt and wanted to wear it for an event, but it was a size too big. I figured it would be a cheap tailoring, and saw this place's good reviews and took it there. They are undoubtedly good at what they do - my skirt was taken in beautifully, and they were very friendly in-person. However, I was surprised when, after getting fitted, I found out that it would be over $60. Frustrated but needing the skirt in less than two weeks, I agreed to the price. Then, at midnight before my event - the night before I was to pick up my skirt - I got a brief email saying that my skirt wouldn't be ready on time. I was shocked, since they had said the time would be no problem, and thought it was horribly unprofessional to tell me late at night before my event. It eventually worked out being ok and I got my skirt on time, but I was disappointed by the whole experience. I'd recommend this place for truly special pieces where you need expert tailoring - for my day-to-day fixes, I'll go somewhere else. read more

I had made an appointment with an individual who worked there and upon my arrival a young lady proceeded to help me. When I tried on my bridesmaids dress, she simply pinned the dress in different spots but didn't ask if it was comfortable, what I wanted or if it fixed my original problem (being too big in the top). My mom and I were asking questions about how much material would be taken off, how many inches it needed to be brought in, and general recommendations and every time we asked the lady had to consult with another worker who had to interrupt her appointment. She couldn't explain why she was pinning certain places on the dress but then said it would be $85. We did not get a good vibe and proceeded to take the dress to Elegant Alterations in Green Hills who had a much better consultation and did it for half the price. read more

They are magicians! I ordered my wedding dress online. It fit my waist but that's about it! They completely reworked the shoulders and neck, stitched up the unnecessary slit, and hemmed it a considerable amount. All of this with some of the thinnest fabric ever, and with detailed beading. It fit PERFECTLY and I felt so comfortable in it! And all in record time. I also noticed some beading falling out a few days before my wedding (that we hadn't noticed before) so I took it back in - they had it fixed in a couple of hours. Magicians I tell you! This place is top notch. Aaron (the owner) did an incredible job on my wedding tux. I was on a budget so I ordered separate pieces for the suit (white dinner jacket and shirt from online that came baggy, pants from Macy's, Nordstrom Rack shoes). All that said if i was to wear the suit as it came, it would have been a monstrosity to say the least. I'm talking like gasps as I walk down the aisle bad. Luckily, I came across Only One on Yelp and read the reviews and decided to give it a go. I have had bad experiences with tailors in the past both customer service wise and the sorry work they did. Only One fixed BOTH of those and will now be my go to for as long as I live in Nashville. Aaron takes such care in the work he does and goes above and beyond to make sure you get the alterations you want and need without the upsell. I decided on this tailor based on Yelp reviews and I unfortunately did not have the same stellar experience as everyone else. I went there to have a bridesmaid dress altered. When I picked up the dress, the end result looked like a high school senior project gone wrong. The tailor had brought the back of the dress (which was supposed to lay at the tailbone) all the way up to my shoulders in order to pull up the front straps, completing ruining the shape of the dress from the side and the back. They also sewed cups on the outside of the dress, so when wearing the dress, the cups were completely visible. (I would have taken a picture but I was too upset with how it looked). I don't understand how someone could look at the finished product and feel good about it. I voiced my concerns but could not have them alter it again because I was leaving town that same day. Despite giving me a small discount, I still ended up paying $200 for a horribly tailored dress. I ended up taking the dress to my tailor in Chicago who took down the back by 5 inches and sewed the cups into the dress. She completely fixed the dress for only $65. I'm upset that I paid so much for something that I had to get fixed at less than half the price! I don't expect my money back but I will not be using this tailor again. Where do I even begin. I am writing this review from California. I'm getting married in April and my mom was having a hard time finding a dress. Luckily I found the perfect dress and I shipped it out to TN for her to try on and hope she too thought it was perfect. Being that my mother is about 5"5 and this dress was made for someone like 6 ft tall. I knew we were going to need It hemmed. Once it arrived and she tried it on with her shoes it was for sure confirmed the dress was way too long. So I started my yelp search for someone honest, "crafty" and up to date. When I found Aaron I just knew from the reviews and the moment we spoke that this guy knew what he was doing and was a pro. He's not only knowledgable but he's kind, understanding, patient and really helped me out since I'm so far away. My mom is a nervous driver. She was afraid to drive to his shop. Honestly she is nervous driving to the grocery store so I knew this drive ( a very easy one ) was going to rough on her. Aaron welcomed her with open arms. Facetimed me too so I could see how the dress looked and we talked about the options etc needed for the dress. He even wrote directions for my mom to go back home a non freeway way so she could be relaxed. She said his directions were perfect and very quick. So not only is this man amazing at his job but he's a good direction giver too!! Aaron is a tailor to celebrities. He's very busy when the CMA come to town . Of course he's busy he's top notch!!! If I could give 100 stars I would. Aaron was a real professional and went above and beyond to make sure my honeypie was outfitted for our wedding day. Long story short his jacket was inside during the truly unfortunate fire. I still can't believe it. We had two weeks until the wedding day to scramble. The jacket was a custom made jacket from overseas and scrambled we did. We ordered a replacement one that actually made it but it was too big! Aaron to the rescue. Turns out the original one was salvageable. Let's just say, even with everything going on in his life, and us being small fish, he still did everything he could to get the first jacket cleaned, altered, and perfect for the big day. Even with the short notice the jacket looked impeccable. I truly thank him for everything that he has done and we will be life long customers. If you need a tailor, stop here, the search is over. I just went in to Only One Tailoring today and I don't think it could have been much easier. The zipper on my bag was broken so I called ahead asking if this was something that they could fix. They said they could and told me to come in so that they could quote me a price (see what sort of zipper I need, how difficult the installation would be etc.). I walked in and was immediately seen by Aaron who diagnosed that he could probably fix the zipper I have... I definitely wasn't expecting that. I was in and out within 20 minutes with my zipper working BETTER than it did when I got the bag. He was very friendly and obviously knew what he was doing. I called another alterations person first and I literally cried after she berated me for my poorly scheduled timeline. Brides, Only One Tailoring is the only place to go to have your wedding dress altered. I got married this past May, and I wore my mother's wedding dress. Keep in mind - I'm two inches taller and about 15 lbs. heavier than my mother was when she got married. Aaron made my dream of wearing her dress possible. He let the dress out as far as it would (safely) go, reworked the sleeves and added layered lace for length. He also found pearls to embellish the back of the dress (the original dress had pearls on the front, but not the back). The end result was stunning. On top of a great end result, my mom and I both loved working with someone who obviously cares so deeply for his work and his customers. After each fitting, I left feeling confident and informed about the process. My mother also had her mother of the bride dress altered at Only One Tailoring, with great results.
