The portions will astound you, but not flavor is sacrificed! My corned beef hash was yummy! The mac was milder for my preference, but still good. Rice was cooked perfectly. My boyfriend's shoyu chicken was so good. I loveee their Andagi but so does everyone else! They sell out quick so be sure to go early. Best Andagi on island! The staff radiate aloha. They probably work very busy days, yet keep a smile on their faces! Very efficient too. We got our food before my boyfriend finished paying! Free parking, but no where to dine. We ate in our car! Would recommend everyone try out Ige's! Be sure to check their social media for special hours and specialities!

Two weeks ago, I saw a group on FB called 808 Best Lunch Wagons, Restaurants & Entertainments that…read moresomeone had posted the menu for Ige's and saw that Wednesday they would have baked spaghetti, my favorite going to school. Wednesday, had the internet fixed in the morning, picked up my cousin at 10:30 and she gave me directions to Ige's because all this time, I didn't know they were still in business. Oops. Ige's is located in the Waimalu area behind Goodwill on Kam Hwy. There's several small businesses back there and all these driveways, you can miss this place easily. On the main driveway, there's a bike path that crosses it, and an old guard shack. After this, you want to take the second driveway on the left. You know you're going down the right path when you see Guieb restaurant on the left, which I also didn't know was here. And drive all the way to the end. Ige's is the very last store on the left. You'll see the lunch line. They are only open for lunch from Tuesdays to Fridays from 9:30 am - 1 pm, so you should plan ahead. The regular menu differs each day and for now, the daily specials have remained unchanged. But to make sure, check out their IG @igesaiea. When you get there, they do have some grab and goes that are not advertised. As far as pricing, they are pretty reasonable, regular plates are between $13 - $16. However, the portions, let's say it's really heavy. My cousin got a mixed plate of chicken hekka and pork teriyaki. And I got the baked spaghetti, no rice, with toss and Mac salad. And the spaghetti filled half the plate with a good amount of height. Ige's is counter only, a hole-in-the-wall restaurant. Therefore there are no seats. I asked my cousin if she wanted to grab a table at Neal Blaisdell park down the street and she quickly declined. So we drove back to her house for lunch. My cousin did enjoy her chicken hekka and pork. I'm didn't get to taste it because I was too involved with my meal. At first glance, it wasn't the brick, lasagna-style like school where there was a thick layer of cheese on top. However, without the cheese, it was still tasted the same from what I could remember. Because the portion is heavy, my cousin could only eat a fourth of her lunch while I thought I better tap out at 1/3. So she didn't need to make dinner for her family while I had dinner and lunch for the next day. Although the interaction was short, the counter person was pleasant and very helpful. As you look into the kitchen, you can see a lot of people hustling back there as they also do catering. I'll be away for two weeks but I am looking forward to picking up lunch when I get back and I am definitely brining family here, I just need to figure out a good place for a picnic.

He called us and talked through our needs, and was vastly patient when it was clear we had no idea what we were doing! The wedding itself was a smash. Kimo showed up two days early for a walk-through and the day before for prep. The day of, the heavens opened and it rained cats and dogs and boars and horses. Which ruined our outside plans! But Kimo switched to the backup plan of serving indoors -- and the food was magnificent. I think what I love most about Kimo is all the little things. He handled flowers for us, got a wedding arch and even had his team run across the street to get 20 umbrellas from the drug store! In the end, with a million changes and some things we used and some things we went over on, he sensibly threw it all out the window and called it even. I've never hugged a vendor as much as I hugged Kimo. Amazing food and a fabulous spirit. Hire him!

The biggest issue was communication--they didn't respond to our messages, which became a real problem on our wedding day. They forgot to bring propane and didn't tell us until 5:00pm, right when dinner was supposed to start. This pushed our meal back to 8:30pm, leaving only an hour before our reception ended at 9:30pm.After the wedding, we reached out about getting a partial refund and they ghosted us completely. I would not recommend this caterer to other couples.

I was floored when the cashier said it was $14 and change. Everyone knows the 1/2 pound poke containers, and know how small it is. We're talking beef stew. NOT poke! So I'm figuring, they charge about $30 a lb? I can't believe what was in the container weighed even 1/2 pound. Cashier suggested the mini plate which was $13 and change. One scoop rice and about 10 chopped pieces of lettuce as the salad. Oh, and the stew dumped on the mini container from the half pound container. I should've went to Ige's down the street. The stew was salty. One good thing was the beef was soft and not tough. Cashier was nice too. This is the only reason for 2 stars. Hard pass on the prices here with average tasting stew. Luckily I had cash as there is a 3% credit card fee. Best to get set combo plates or food is charged by the pound. Forgot to snap a pick of the poke counter as the inside is very tiny and didn't want to block the counter. Poke looks fresh...maybe next time. Although it was nice to try, I found some of the items were a bit salty. Surprisingly I enjoyed a fish with mushroom offering that I thought was mushroom lasagna with white sauce. Lol no pasta in this dish. 4 stars for offering a variety of options. There is something for everyone! Support local and help keep small businesses like this survive!
