It looked busy when I walked in, but everyone was eating, so the line was pretty short. Yay! That's about the only perk though. While waiting for my order, I heard the number before mine get called and I saw the bag for my child's keiki meal, being placed on pm the counter. I stood up, making eye contact with the person calling out order numbers, and they went to the register. I'm totally fine with them taking orders, but to have eye contact with me and then go to the register (when someone was already on the register with only one person waiting), is kind of rude. On top of that, right after they took that one order, she looked at me again and then called out, "I'm going on my break!" ‍ She looked at me again and then walked off, so I got even closer to the counter, having another cashier look at me and one of the chefs look at me. No one saying anything. After another minute, finally, someone approached me. I said that I'm pretty sure that's my order and she confirmed it. I should have checked it before leaving. My child's meal was missing macaroni salad, which I specifically asked for and the cashier repeated it, and had it on my receipt. We got home, no mac salad. Cue sad music. So guess who didn't get to have mac salad? Me...I was craving it, the entire reason I went there. And what made matters worse, the crispy shrimp was overcooked, so I traded one of my white fish filets for the overcooked shrimp. And the filet I had left, cold in the middle! Ugh...I don't plan on coming back to this location again. It was all just a huge disappointment. At least we got a stitch bag, so that was the win of the day. ‍ It just felt like they didn't really care to be there. I mean, when I was getting some katsu sauce, the cashier was cleaning the counter and kind of just swiped everything quickly, having them hit the wall and then the back of the sauce dispensers. This would have been a solid 5 star experience as I was craving fish and they had an $8 Aloha plate special where I got their fried fish, it was so good, their tartar sauce was bomb! We ordered online for pick up, did some shopping across the parking lot while we waited. The food wasn't ready when we got there, but it was done and delivered to my husband in the span of time it took me to use the restroom. Service was friendly, the bag was tied up and we were told everything was in there. We didn't realize the guava pie we ordered wasn't included with our order, that was a deduction of a star as your restaurant was empty at lunch so I don't feel like this should have even been an issue. Then I deducted another star because I emailed customer service in regard to the issue and was never contacted back and we live 30 minutes away so I wouldn't drive back for $4. Don't get my review mixed up. The food here is amazing. I love this place. Coming from Hawaii, this is the closest place to getting Hawaiian style food at a fast and convenient place. I am writing this review because this metal fray from either a bbq cleaning brush or a metal bristle style S.O.S. Sponge. It was caught in the back of my throat and tonsil and caused minor lacerations and bleeding. I am reporting this place to the BBB,FDA, and OSHA! I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. I wish I caught the women's name, who had helped us with our order. We had planned on ordering a catering order from here, but had not realized the order needed to be placed days in advance, according to the website and online ordering. After panicking, since I waited til the last minute to order our catering order, I called this location and the lady on the phone could not have been more pleasant and helpful. We were able to place the catering order the day of, (about 4 hours in advance). When we arrived to pick up the order, I could tell it was the same woman at the register, who had taken to order over the phone. They were very very busy, but she was so kind and made sure everything was ready for us. They were about 15 minutes delayed, but she kept us informed and even offered to help me to the car once the order was ready. Honestly, you don't see this kind of work ethic and positive attitude anymore, especially since she was handling a lot at one time. Just wanted to shout her out! And say thank you to her! There's a Ulta & Marshall's store in this strip mall too, so for me it'll be a winner-winner chicken Katsu dinner (wife=at least 2x per month) The food here is prepared properly and is pretty good too. I had the Kalbi/Katsu combo plate. Kalbi ribs: flavorful, moist and meaty Chicken Katsu: crispy and tender. Although, I wish it was a thicker piece as this serving of chicken is pretty thin. Husband literally goes here once a week for lunch. So when I got into this yelp experience there was no need to convince him to go here for dinner. Tried the kalua pork plate a couple of days ago. Two small scoops of rice and a side of macaroni salad. The pork had a slight smoky flavor but was a bit dry. The base was boiled cabbage and two pieces of broccoli. Overall, an OK meal. I'm not sure if I'd try anything else. BTW, they don't have spam musubi, which is a favorite for islanders. The first time visiting Ono; it was wonderful I love the variety to choose from and it reminded me of Hawaii... the friendliness of employees, the cleanliness of the establishment, environment was nice, mellow and busy. The prices were reasonable and the food quality is good. I have only had one mishap here in regards to having an order not made properly though they rectified it immediately and we're very apologetic. I appreciated this greatly as to a lot of the establishments placing the blame on the customers instead of themselves so thank you for this. Ono is my go to eatery for when I want to have a great tasting meal, brings me back to hawaii Everytime. Fish is nicely cooked and flaky with great flavor, I have had the salad which I really wasn't a fan of but everyone's tastes are different ( the flavor of the dressing was weird to me ), the shrimp were cook thoroughly and flavor could be picked up a notch, spam was awesome plump and flavorful along with the Rangoons I believe they're called ( with the cream cheese in it ) though warning they don't have the sweet sauce to go with them if you are a fan of that. Don't forget to stop off at the sauce station to pick up some extra sauce for your food if needed. It can get pricy if you are feeding the entire team but each plate has enough for plenty of leftovers. Even a teriyaki chicken bowel is a great quick lunch. It will leave you stuffed. I would say the only drawbacks to this location are: 1 the plexiglass between you and the register makes it hard to communicate. 2 they don't cut the chicken all the way through, pair that with a plastic fork while eating the the car, you will make a mess of it. Employees were very kind, and I was greeted once I came through the door by both the cashier and their manager. I ordered the chicken bbq plate and a drink to go. The drink cup is small, and according to the cashier, was the only size available. Even though they were a bit busy, my order came out quicker than at other Ono Hawaiian BBQ locations. The chicken was juicy and tender, the macaroni salad was great as always, and the rice was warm and a bit sticky. Only complaint is that their serving of macaroni salad was small, smaller than other locations. They did give me a few coupons with freebies and discounts. Overall, it was good, but I would probably go to the location in Perris instead, just for the bigger portion sizes. read more

I have one seafood allergy person in the house-- the cashier was honest and said the seafood mixes on the grill as does the fryer so, best not eat items on the menu for seafood allergy people #crosscontamination I do appreciate the honesty since it's an Epi pen use when exposed.
