Came on opening day so I knew there would be a line. I love supporting new businesses in town so I brought my patience. They had a buy 1 get 1 combo which was nice. Ordered the kalua combo with upgrade to bbq beef and a chicken combo with teri chicken. I took one star away because the food was just ok. Hawaii is my home away from home so my expectations may be a little higher than most when it comes to "Hawaiian" food. The chicken in the katsu was so super thin compared to the actual breading. Some of the teri chicken was burnt but it was their first day and there were so many orders. The bbq beef was ok. I wouldn't really crave it again. They offer Hawaiian Sun drinks in addition to the usual soda. There's a self service sauce bar with katsu sauce and teri sauce. The teri sauce comes out warm. Service was super efficient. Everyone was courteous and friendly even though it was already the end of the night. Everyone seemed to know what they were doing which helped the orders come out pretty quick. The decor is cute is kinda cute. It's like not your typical Hawaiian decor. It kind of has a modern minimalist esthetic. There are a couple surf boards on the walls. They have a good combo of seating options. Tables with benches that seat about 4 adults, round tables and chairs, long tables with seating for 8, and half booths with chairs. Probably not the best if you have a really big group.

Visited this place for the first time, I know they have other locations but this one just opened off Clinton Keith. It's located in a very busy mini shopping area, where there are plenty of other eateries and a Costco. Decided to give it a try. The restaurant has plenty of sitting areas. Their menu offers a wide variety of favorites. This time around, we ordered a mixed BBQ plate and a chicken katsu plate. The portions are pretty good and fed my whole family. We enjoyed the service and the food.

Placed a mobile order for two family meals for a birthday and I had to call to change the pick up time which Emma promised would be done. I still called the day of just to make sure and it was confirmed that the pick up time was bumped up from 6:30 PM to 5 PM. Your employee Deja, called me at 4:45 PM to inform me my order was ready to go and asked what sauces she could include for us. Your service here is top notch, your employees are amazingly helpful and each encounter has been nothing but positive, keep up the great vibes! Mahalo Nui Loa!

Chicken katsu is one of my fave.

Been waiting for this location to open and glad it finally is! The restaurant is spacious and nice and new. I was looking forward to going through the drive thru but it's not open yet. Hopefully soon! The parking is at a premium but the food is well worth it. My family enjoyed all the food and went back for seconds. Lunch plates come with rice, macaroni salad, veggies and protein. So much flavor, good grill on the meats and appreciate it's made fresh to order. Will definitely be back! Aloha Murrieta!

Went and sat down with my two kids bit into the chicken katsu and chicken spelled spoiled and breading slid off and the chicken was slimy when i told the employee he told me there was nothing wrong with it he could bring a thermometer to show me the chicken was cooked and if the chicken wasn't cooked he it would be translucent i asked for a refund because i didn't feel comfortable eating it and he told me he wouldn't give me a refund because i ate out of it i asked for a manager and apparently manager wasn't there i left my food there will be contacting corporate 0/10 horrible service and food would give 0 stars if i could

    My non chicken katsu.

Service was great. It's new can't really complain everyone doing their best. The ambience and store it self was done great. I ordered the chicken katsu and this is what you see how much more breading there is than the chicken.

My husband and I live in Escondido but we were in Murrieta for a few hours. He was told about this place and we decided to try it. So glad we did. From the perfectly seasoned fried catfish to the creamy mac and cheese and flavorful collard greens filled with spice. The Oxtail with gravy over rice was tender and full of rich flavor. It fell off the bone the minute you touched it. The candied yams and rice and red beans made for the perfect sides. So good!! The portions were generous and you will leave with a satisfied stomach. The service is friendly and welcoming. The smooth jazzy music gives the atmosphere a relaxing place to enjoy a homemade meal. You can truly tell the food is made with love and tradition. This was one of the best soul food experiences I've had in a long time, and I will definitely be coming back for more Louisiana goodness! Next time it will be the alligator bites

I only received 2 oxtails and they were ALL fat, NO meat and they were super salty. I couldn't even eat them. The rice tasted several days old; it was heard. The menu did not say the gumbo was spicy or I would've never ordered it. I paid extra for crab, but it was not in the gumbo. I ordered the large gumbo but received the small container. I paid $115 which was very pricey, especially since the portions were small and the oxtails were all fat and WAY too salty. The greens were tasty and I loved the yams and cornbread. I didn't care for the negative comments written on my to go containers, one of which was written in bright red marker and said "GREENS ARE SPICY READ THE MENU!" That to me was not necessary or kind, especially when I've been a loyal patron. For $115 I expect to receive EVERYTHING I paid for, better quality and better customer service.

So the first thing that bothered me is there is a lot of people waiting outside so it's loud and when they call you to be seated they aren't loud enough so we missed our call after waiting a bit i checked in to find out! 2nd thing Food was not very warm felt like it was sitting a bit so some of our food was room temperature. Food tasted ok. But Portions and cuts were good. Then we went to eat at 630 which is peak dinner time they were already out of baked potatoes and pastrami and some other item. Their mashed potatoes tasted gritty like if they where box mashed potatoes which makes sense with them being out of potatoes. 3rd thing which is their "New Policy" That groups of 6 or more it has to be paid on one card and can Not be split in multiple payments not even split cash and card! So that to me makes absolutely no sense and there are no signs stating this anywhere nor on their site. So overall this place is ok and not really worth what we paid. Definitely won't be back and wouldn't recommend this place to friends.

Our daughter, son-in-law, grandson, my husband and I came for another divine dining experience. We were seated right away as it wasn't too crowded. We noticed they rearranged the tables and seating. It's still so cozy and pristine with low lighting giving off an intimate vibe. The food was amazing as usual and it came out quickly! Never a bad meal here. Unfortunately, one star off for the service. We have come to expect the high caliber of service offered from Robin & Francesca from past visits. Our server Jessica was nice enough but not very attentive. We had to keep asking for our drinks to be refilled although it was very obvious that our glasses were empty. And there weren't a lot of people there. So our server really missed the mark. Thankfully, the food is consistently outstanding and mediocre service won't dissuade us from returning.
