Look I get it, it's tough times while we are getting out of COVID but this review has to be posted. I ordered my dinner the gentleman at the register was awesome great customer service and the food is good that's why for the 2 stars, but where did it go wrong? I waited over 45 min to receive my dinner I only had 1 plate btw, after that 45 min the lady who calls out the numbers is not apologetic or sympathetic for customers waiting 45 min. Mind you there are no chairs due to no sit down dining i leaned on the table after 45 min of waiting and I was yelled at for leaning on a table. Upon entering I noticed the staff. Friendly and tentative. Order a #4 (BBQ mix plate) Was pleased with the size of the order as well as the speed of delivery of the food. This review is two part so please read all of it 1st part is all about the service and a employee named Sean. While I was ordering my food he only paid half attention to what was being said. We also order drinks and weren't allowed to have them while we waited outside mind you. Then he was very confrontational with this woman about her holding her mask out from her face which was still covered. If people can wear a face shield then holding out the mask is also sufficient. Part 2 We ordered told about 25 minutes wait. We waited outside they lost our order and served 10 orders past us before we got our food. The food was mediocre to say the least. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, not to mention especially patient with our orders. The food was pretty good but perhaps nothing special. I had the noodle soup combo which consisted of mushy noodles with broth and boiled veggies (cabbage, napa, carrots and a small scoop of edamame). The boyfriend had the two item combo with the spicy chicken and kalua pork. I loved the salad and salad dressing from his combo- it was really fresh and tasty. The chicken was pretty spicy and I assume he liked the kalua (because I didn't get any). Overall, 4/5 stars. read more

This is a really good rest and stretch your legs stop when driving Fresno to Sacramento. Turlock has really been growing the past few years but my favorite eatery is still Ono Hawaiian BBQ. Cashiers definitely show the Aloha spirit and make you feel like Kamaina. I tend to prefer the Hawaiian Beef plaster, but the chicken Katsu and Mahi Mahi are equally "Ono". Parking is really problematic, so just park in the Target parking lot and walk a few feet to the front door. I recommend you by 2 plate lunches, one to eat there and one to take home. Prices are not bad, $10 for BBQ beef plate lunch plus a drink. Servings are generous so you will probably have left overs. read more
