Looking for a Gym, healthy food options for the GAINS! Look no further than this plaza! Across from the LA Fitness and across from a Costco gas station , this spot is a great location for macro gains and stable chicken with rice. This location has plenty of seating with a welcoming entrance. The staff are nice and friendly. The decorations are whimsical, with an organized seating. The bathrooms are on the side and it serves lots of To-Go Orders. The service is quick and waited less than 10min for both plates. Not a good spot to people watch since they are trying to get it to go. The sprite was spritzing and food was consistent. Enjoyed my meal and ate leftovers today. 7/10, the downside is that they charge for plastic bags but I rather pay for plastic than a paper bag. Check this spot out for good options!

I got the Hawaiian bbq mix which came with kalbi beef, bbq beef, and bbq chicken. The kalbi beef had the best flavor but both beefs were chewy and hard to eat. The chicken was pretty good, juicy but not super flavorful. I enjoyed the fried shrimp and crab rangoons as well. The Mac salad was okay but a little bland

Lava Shrimp - my 2nd time ordering this

I should've written this review a few weeks back. Anyway this is close to my workplace so this is our usual go to for lunch. We also get coupons and we have an online account with promotions as well. Here's a good deal but can only be used up to this week - they launched their lava shrimp a couple of weeks ago and there's a promotion on Fridays for seafood where you get a plate for only $8. Note that this is not the one with macaroni. Love their macaroni salad but I tried lava shrimp 2x (both on Fridays to get the deal) and it was pretty good. Reminds me of boiling crab seasoning - not exactly but close. Might be more spicy for some but it's ok with me. If you don't like shrimp - their chicken bbq plate is good as well. That's really my default order. I used to get the mahi mahi but that's not available anymore. I usually have food to go but recently I've been ordering online and eating in so I have uninterrupted lunch break. Also online orders have more promotions. Place is sometimes full at lunch but you'll always find a seat. If you work nearby definitely order here and if you like that Hawaiian macaroni salad - it's pretty good. Sometimes I just order that.

2025/03/17 Update: I tried their limited time special, the Lava Shrimp plate, I ordered it without salad and extra rice. As implied by it's name, it's hot, but the heat was not immediate, it took a while for the heat to hit me, at first it was hot enough to give it flavor but after a while, my mouth heated up! It comes with about 12 shrimps. It was good. I'm glad I ordered a large soda tho

this place is soo good! i loove that this place is next to the gym i go too! a great place to get a fulfilling meal after a workout. i got myself their teriyaki chicken meal in a plate. the food was just as good as it looks in the photo! the teriyaki sauce is soo good!! the chicken was well cooked. i loove their macaroni salad! it's really good. the entire meal was really yummy! 10/10 favorite spot.

Stopped in for lunch and we received excellent service, the dining area was great and everything was clean. The food was delicious! All the staff were very friendly. Definitely recommend Ono Hawaiian BBQ.

I honestly only really come here for the spam musubi since it comes in 2 pieces while other places don't make it as good or they charge per piece. My family loves their Hawaiian bbq plates! The Katsu is delicious and love their Mac salad. They also have other musubi like chicken and beef rather than the standard spam which is neat. Parking can be a bit of a pain but it's a big lot with other food and shops around. Definitely worth coming here over other Hawaiian bbq places! Lots of seating inside and outside and they have an easy order process. Wish they had more in the area. IG: @ammysalamii

All sauces except the Katsu !!

I wish I could go into the negative on stars because my experience today was unacceptable! I usually go in person to this location but for the first time ever I didnt feeling like driving and took advantage of the lower fees with Grub Hub + thru Amazon Prime. Big mistake - first of all , Ono is one of the few places with no drop down menus to add or modify orders. I wanted to make sure all of their sauces were in the bag so I called the restaurant. Whoever answered the phone said all of the sauces would be in the bag. Well of course my order arrived in record time and was missing my favorite sauce , the Katsu sauce. I called the restaurant a 2nd time and explained what happened. After 14 minutes on hold, the manager came back only with an offer of a side macaroni salad for the trouble - I told him this was unacceptable. I wont be back to this location !

I'm not sure where all the bad service reviews are coming from because I had great service from 3 staff who helped me from the cashier to a cook checking on my order and another girl handing off my order. I wasn't too hungry so I just went with their musubi, I was able to get the set with one chicken and one spam for about $6. Overall, the biggest issue is the amount of rice to meat ratio. You could barely see the protein in either musubi. Now I know this isn't a "burrito" where it's going to be stuffed with meat and filling, and I LOVE musubis, but it was pretty sad just how bad the ratio was. The rice was also a bit hard. But I did enjoy it being made fresh as you can't always find "freshly made" musubi in LA. Both meats also had good sauce and flavor. The spam is pre-made so nothing to cook there, but the chicken was just rubbery and had a weird texture to it. Too many misses for me to leave even an average review here.

Love seafood and the whole works. I heard they even offer you a bib, to get messy, which I am so down for. Anyway, same thing happened at this restaurant. A confidential envelope was posted on the door and we were not able to get in. Both sides of the doors were locked. Some other mail was on the ground and 2 were inside the restaurant. I don't know what is going on with both Oliva and this Crab House restaurants? It was dark inside as I snooped to see what the place looked like, was not able to see anything, except one side of the restaurant the chairs were placed on top of the tables. Again, either they are going out of business, or sold the restaurant to someone else. We dialed their number, no answer, left a message (twice), and no one called us back! Even until today. What a shame!! Was so looking forward to it. We were there on the 7th of this month at 12 noon. My friend drove all the way from Tarzana so we could have had lunch, but both restaurants let us down..

I spotted the cafe area where they serve coffees and teas - I made a note that I had to come back to try that. Back to the deli counter - they recommended I try the smoked sea bass since they don't get it in often so I took some of that and a smoked salmon collar. The hand roll bar was empty since it was late in the afternoon but too early for dinner. I promised the sushi chef there that I would return. So I went back today with a couple of friends. We sat at that hand roll bar and had the best hand rolls I've ever had. We ordered a la carte and I absolutely loved those creations - full of flavor, texture - unique and tantalizing! I'm curious to go back and try some of the other things on there like the burger? the shabu shabu? I can't wait to see how they serve those items. Their little market area is fascinating as well - with small bottles of soy sauce aged in bourbon barrels and other delicious sounding ingredients. I did end up taking home a shaker bottle of their house made furikake. Can't wait to try that! I'm so happy this is in the neighborhood. It's a great spot to introduce friends to and serves as inspiration for anyone who loves to cook.

One day they invited us to check out the restaurant on Lobster Tuesday. While you can order from the regular menu that day, we went all in on the lobster dishes and loved everything we tried. The food was amazing, but the lobster ravioli was definitely my favorite dish of the night. Also, if you love bread like I do, definitely order the rolls. The ambiance was wonderful and I've heard they sometimes have live music, although I'm not sure which days. The staff made the experience even better. The host was friendly and kept me laughing with jokes while I waited for my friend to arrive. The bartender was also fantastic, understanding that I don't drink alcohol and made me an incredible mocktail that was so good my friend ended up ordering the same thing. From the food to the atmosphere to the service, everything was excellent. We had a great experience and will definitely be back!

We were able to walk right in and grab a table as the afternoon rush was over. First, it is a cute restaurant with nice ambiance inside. You can also eat outside it looked like, but it was hot so that was not going to be an option. Started with the mini crab cakes and the tuna on crispy rice. The crab cakes had a good amount of crab in them, which was really nice, but they definitely tasted under seasoned. The tuna on crispy rice was great though, topped with avocado and a spicy mayo. Nice crispiness on the outside, soft rice in the middle, good flavor, just a nice bite. For entrees we tried the chimichuri steak sandwich, the French dip and the lobster roll. The lobster roll looks the part but was light on the actual lobster, in our opinions. Felt the bread to everything else ratio was really off, so it feels like mostly bread with some lobster here and there. The chimichuri steak sandwich comes with arugula, gruyere, roasted peppers and grilled shallots and was a decent bite but not overly memorable. The French dip, on the other hand, was really tasty with that au jus and melted cheese. That was the real winner. Overall, nice ambiance, drinks were decent, some misses and some hits. If you go, definitely get the French dip and the tuna of sticky rice, slip that liner roll and the mini crab cakes and up to you on the chimichuri steak sandwich.
