This IS THE most disgusting taco stand I ever visited. Last night me and my partner stopped by to grab some tacos. Despite the fact that the place was already giving extremely poor hygiene, because there was a guy washing dishes on the floor with three buckets, one with water, one with soap, and one to rinse the soaped dishes. Just by watching him I was already questioning whether I wanted my food or not. Regardless, we order hoping that I wouldn't get food poisoning. To my luck, I witness the main cook ask the same guy that was washing the dishes, to add water to the meat steam warmer. When I tell you the guy proceeded to ADD THE SAME MUSTY DIRTY SOAPY WATER WHERE HE RINSE ALL THE DISHES TO THE MEATS STEAMER. I cancel my order soo fast they knew they had fucked up. EL PEOR ASCO DE MI VIDA. LA MISMA AGUA QUE USAN PARA LAVAR LOS PLATOS LA USAN PARA EL VAPOR KE MANTIENE LAS CARNES CALIENTES. Lo mas asquerozo en mi vida. I will be calling the food administration on this business. From their personal hygiene to the food they're selling at a gas station parking lot this place takes the first place on disgusting and poor food handling. I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISE OF MANY PEOPLE WHO HAVE ATE THERE GOT FOOD POISONING.

Menu as of 10/16! Really good!

Fast and delicious tacos from this taco stand! I recommend quesotacos or their sopes! Great comfort food to fulfill your taco cravings lol. I like the cabeza meat that they offer. Prices are typical and fair, and I don't mind it because they are a small business. I am not sure when they close, but they start at 5pm at the corner of the gas station. A plus is that they also take card if don't have cash on hand. Parking situation - may need to get creative since the stand shares space with the gas station. Be mindful to not block a pump or entrance / exit driveway because they can get little busy. Looking forward to coming back often!!

Didn't even get to take any photos of our food because it was all amazing! We got tacos, quesatacos, sopes with all different combination of the meets. Everything was super tasty and the green sauce was really yummy! Will definitely be back. They accept cash and card. Easy parking The menu picture is just one side the other side has friend rice ect!

Food was so amazing order me two sopes made the best decision I loved them so much had a great amount of meat

    Menu, that said no rice.

So sorry to say, but no way. This is a street food setup on Sepulveda & Sherman Way, at Mobil Gas Station. I saw a sign for Fajita Burrito. Description: Choice of meat, bell peppers, onions and cheese. So, understanding that there will be no rice or other fillers, the Burritos might be small. So, I order 2. 1 asada 1 pastor. That's it. That sounded perfect to me. I do not eat rice or any other none foods that normally comes with Burritos. Well, what do you know? I come back to my office and BAM!!!!! Rice!!! Mostly rice. Where is the beef?? And who the hell put rice in it?? The discrimination doesn't say rice. So, $30,66 later, I threw the food away. This is how it is. They just give you rice. Almost no meat. Didn't really see any bell peppers either. Mack sure to check out my pictures. The service was okay and there is no ambiance. It's a street corner. In conclusion $30.66 for 2 rice burritos, is not worth it. I should've went to In N Out.

One of the best tacos I have ever eaten in my life. I didn't expect much but oh boy where they GOOD. I got the asada tacos with cilantro, lettuce, and onion and they provided me with this creamy spicy green sauce that was highly addicting and really added to the flavor. The price is very reasonable and I am definitely coming back here for more tacos.

Al pastor quesotaco and asada tacos. I covered in lime and radishes to help with all the grease.
    Raquel C.

The workers were super nice, but the food was way too greasy! The burritos fell apart from all the grease in the meat (which was very generous). The fries (hand-cut) were very soggy, had to put them in the air fryer. My asada tacos were better than the al pastor quesotaco, I couldn't finish it. None of us finished our food because we were overwhelmed by the grease. (A first for my sons). Maybe this was an off night for them, but I don't know if we will give them another try.

Ordered a fish taco from here and it came to me raw. Took like 2 bites before I realized. Hopefully I can save you all some trouble. Do not eat their fish tacos

Ordered two burritos for delivery and while they were spicy, they were otherwise bland. One of them had a piece of a rubber glove in it. If you want to give customers extras throw some salsa in for the order, not rubber gloves.

Lomo Saltado Burrito & Lomo Saltado Plate both look the same just one is wrapped in a tortilla.

I recently tried out El Cocinero's food at an event that they catered to. As a person who eats meat and is not restricted, I would come here for the good food. The vegan al pastor had chunks of pineapple and it is seasoned and cooked to taste just like the meat version. The texture is just a little bit different but it does resemble a lot like meat. The vegan pastor also tastes just like the meat version, just less "smoky" and the texture is softer. The rice is flavorful and fluffy. The beans are seasoned just enough to have flavor but not compete with the other dishes. The creamy chipotle sauce was perfect topping the rice and beans. I do like vegan food but the only reference I had with Mexican vegan are places that try to add fake cheese and lean heavily on beans and rice. This business shows that you can still have all the flavors and not rely on cheese and meat. They focus on the flavors and not what would make non-vegans feel comfortable. Initially, I was going to give this first time experience a 4 star review so that it encourages me to go check out the restaurant so I can add the service and the ambiance. However, I was lucky enough to bring home leftovers and as I was eating it, the food tastes better. Had to add the extra star!

In a city where Mexican food is probably the primary dining option; one might think that it is all…read morethe same: that a taco here is the same as a taco there. This line of thinking is completely false as each region and state in Mexico has distinct flavors, cultural preparations and unique ingredients. Luckily in the City of Angels; we have access to all of these styles whereas everyone can pick and choose their favorite! I was in the North Hills/Mission Hills area and decided Mexican was going to be the meal of the day - and thanks to the trusty Yelp app: Tacos al Tijuanense was the winner to satisfy my hunger pang. If you are a longtime LA resident or born-and-raised within the city limits and can swear to Tacos al Tijuanense sounding familiar/remembering that it was a food truck... Then your memory doesn't deceive you. Tacos al Tijuanense birthed as a food truck in 1987 quickly gaining popularity for its smoked meats and Tijuana-inspired flavors serving tacos, vampiros, quesadillas, birria tacos, etc; loaded with fresh toppings and offering a variety of meats for the protein selection. The LA love for Tacos al Tijuanense caused such popularity that the food truck expanded into brick-and-mortar locations with several now spread throughout the city. The North Hills location of Tacos al Tijuanense holds real estate near the Woodly/Nordhoff intersection in a small strip plaza shopping center that seems half sleepy and half eyebrow-raising. But, as most of us know, the hidden gems are usual the best spots so don't be deterred by such businesses like the sketchy massage parlor next door. In fact, diners will be pleasantly surprised when crossing the threshold of the entrance to find an airy interior with high ceilings, natural light, wooden accents and the combination of a trendy- almost gastropub sticking to the food truck theme (there is even a food truck motif behind the order counter) that feels like a party. Tacos al Tijuanense is not what you would expect from the outside! Tacos al Tijuanense is fast-casual meaning you order behind the counter and take a number to the table of your choice. After browsing the menu, my boyfriend chose a Quesadilla (13" tortilla filled with protein of your choice, jack cheese, cilantro and salsa with my boyfriend picking chicken - $13) and a Vampiro (toasted corn tortilla layered with jack cheese, choice of meat, onions, cilantro and salsa with al pastor - $3). For my order, I also went with a Vampiro but with chicken while also ordering Nachos to share with carne asada. When our plates arrived, we were surprised to see the size of the portions. Everything at Tacos al Tijuanense is large and in charge and they most certainly do not skimp! The fillings are overflowing with bright, fresh ingredients, toppings are numerous and the size overall makes everything shareable. My Vampiro was crisp with delicious guacamole that added a refreshing element and tender, tasty chicken. My favorite was my boyfriend's Quesadilla which was gooey, warm and perfect. You can't go wrong with a quesadilla! But we have to talk about the nachos because these nachos are HUGE! This is party size and could generously feed three people. The carne asada was heavenly and the chips tasted homemade. The only slightly "meh" factor was that the cheese atop the nachos was canned cheese and we would have preferred melted shredded cheese. This wouldn't have been such an issue had the canned cheese been in a rational amount but it seemed like a Costco-sized can poured onto these chips! These nachos were hidden under cheese glop! Regardless, they were still delicious. Tacos al Tijuanense holds true to its almost 40-year-old fame with affordable prices, delicious food, large portions giving you a bang for your buck and a surprisingly inviting ambiance. Tacos al Tijuanense is definitely recommended and the North Hills location is much recommended despite its odd plaza placement.
