Came just in time for lunchtime, and honestly, I can't believe it's been 3 months already since I last came here. Came all the way from Koreatown, just for their plate of BBQ white meat chicken. Service is still top tier like always. The food is still amazing, and the chicken always has that nice char flavor, while still being juicy and delicious. Add a little bit of their hot sauce to give it a nice kick of spice! They never hold back on their portions! So be prepared to leave completely full or take some leftovers. The ambiance is nice and cozy. It's never too loud, and it always has a nice vibe. Parking is free but always a nightmare trying to find parking, especially since Ohana BBQ is sharing the plaza with a Sprouts and other establishments. So be prepared for that. But if you are around the area and are craving some Hawaiian/Korean BBQ, I highly recommend this spot. It won't let you down. read more

Decided I give this place a shot after hearing all the hype. Sadly, I'll be sticking with my local Ono Hawaiian spot. I ordered the Haleiwa plate (beef, chicken and ribs +$4) and it was not worth the extra change. The (4) ribs were a bit chewy, tons of pepper on the meat, almost a full box worth of rice and they give you baby scoops of mac salad, which did not taste fresh. Service was good. And the location is right in the middle of a shopping plaza so good luck with parking during the rush. read more

They have a lot of korean influence on the cooking. I liked the galbi ribs but with it came with more meat. It felt like I had a kids plate worth of meat and a heaping portion of rice. I wasn't very happy to see how little meat their was because of how expensive the meal was. The part that is off putting is their price point. Spending nearly $40 (w/ tip) for takeout is a little ridiculous in my opinion. ..Not to mention the fact the parking is awful. Service is pretty standard. I wouldn't say it was friendly but I also wouldn't say its bad. It's very transactional which is fine, I guess. I actually wanted to dine in but I ended up eating in my car because the vibe was off. Updating to 5 stars. It's been a long while that I have been back to Ohana BBQ. I use to come here to pick up lunch all the time when we use to live in the neighborhood. Their food hasn't changed at all. It's still fantastic and the portions are still massive. The prices did go up a little but still worth it. This recent visit I ordered the Diamond Head Chicken bowl dark meat. The was fantastic the dark meat chicken was moist and tender. The bowl itself was good enough for two person. Ohana BBQ is probably one of the best Hawaiian/Korean BBQ in the Valley. They keep their quality up to par. Definitely with the visit you're craving delicious Hawaiian food. Plus they have many different plates of meat and salad to choose from. Remember the place is small with about 4-5 tables and can get really smoky from grilling the meat to order. read more

I'm a sucker for Hawaiian food, especially really good Hawaiian food. I assume everyone else is, too. This is a small restaurant in a small strip mall. There is a good amount of free parking but you might have to fight a little for it. There are a few tables inside for dining or you can just get takeout. We tried two plate lunches, one with teriyaki chicken and the other with chicken katsu (cutlet) and beef ribs (the Waikiki Special gives you your choice of two proteins). You get your choice of two sides (we both got mac salad and spicy cucumbers). You get an a month's supply of rice with each order. Everything is cooked to order so be patient. The chicken katsu is crazy good and you get a big fat fail if you don't try this. The chicken teriyaki is very nice and you get a ginormous portion. The ribs are very flavorful but I found them a little tough. They cost an additional $4.00 and I would suggest choosing something else. The mac salad was creamy and delicious. The spicy cucumbers were very fresh but not as spicy as I hoped. You're not going to be hungry after ordering here and the food is high quality. Get that katsu for sure and make sure you get some of those complimentary fantastic teriyaki sauces. read more

This is such an unassuming place for a five star kind of café and Hawaiian/Korean type of food. You can get very special cold noodles that have a great sauce that I have not tried before with grilled chicken and I would say overall refreshing and it seems healthy. We also got the chicken Katsu for the kids and they love that. The only thing I would say is adding the spam musubi. They were quite different because the spam was grilled instead of being put in soy sauce. The service was good kind of like a café setting and I would say the price is reasonable for the amount of food that they give you. When I want some lean grilled chicken bbq, this is where I go. My usual is the dark grilled chicken combo, that comes with the rice and 2 sides. Today I went with spicy cucumber side as well as the potato salad. Both sides were fresh and delicious and as always, the star of the show is the protein. The grill the dark chicken filet to perfection on a fire grill and 30 seconds later it's on your plate for you to devour. The chicken has nice char flavor, juicy and delicious. I like to add a little soy sauce and I generally apply their delicious teriyaki sauce all over the chicken and rice. Each bite is great, yummy and healthy. The ambiance is pretty cool, as the plaza was rebuilt and comes with a variety of little restaurants. Parking isn't hard to find either. Inside Ohana, you will find 5-6 tables a nice crew of people working there, ready to dish out next delicious combo plate. Will definitely return again! read more

For $22.99 I got a choice of 2 proteins with salad & mix of macaroni/potato scoop that I chose for my side, along with rice. When the food arrived to our table I immediately noticed that the proteins were kinda almost cold. Which I don't understand because I saw the cooks grilling the chicken right up front. I assumed we were going to get some of that. But I was wrong. The protein didn't come out streaming hot. I guess they just cook a lot at the same time and leave it in a container. I did get a hefty amount of white rice for both proteins. I'll admit that, but when it comes to the side (Mac/potato salad?) was misleading as for the pictures on yelp I seen the combo with 1 good scoop of the classic Hawaiian Mac salad. I was thrown off. But, my friend has been before which is the only reason I knew it must be right. It wasn't busy so we immediately ordered and sat down. The staff was friendly, and the food didn't take too long. I ordered the Wiki Wiki Noodles with White Meat Chicken. I spent about $25. I thought it was tasty - the star of the dish was definitely the chicken. Very juicy and flavorful. The noodles were pretty dry so I added some sauce. The portion sizes are pretty big! I had some leftovers at the end. Overall, the food was fine but it didn't impress me. The portions are huge, the flavors are so good, the quality is great, the cook is perfect, and the staff is friendly, accommodating and fast. Their dining area is cozy and comfortable enough for a small place that mainly does to-go orders. Plating is very nice if you opt for dine-in. I enjoyed the macaroni salad a lot, even tho that usually doesn't appeal to me. Might be the only one I'd ever ask for on purpose! I love that they offer brown rice! They also now make a cold kabocha salad scoop that is so good (think Christmas yams, but fresher tasting).. We will be back here many times! What a sweet place. If you come from the parking lot west you can see the sign. We made a mistake and parked next door. So when we walked into the strip mall, we couldn't see the sign. And there is a big hedge separating the parking lot and the walkway. So we couldn't just go look for the sign. And there's nothing on the windows. So that's annoying. It's a small place. We decided on the 1/2 Supah salad(was pretty big) because the full size was $19.99. It was like an Asian chicken salad- delicious. And we got the pork ribs plate with macaroni salad. I was looking to get something to eat because I'm super hungry and then I started to look over the menu and I noticed wow the prices are very expensive here I mean, you could either get a $16 bowl of food or you can get the $20 version since the $20 version is basically like enough food for you and maybe somebody else probably the best idea why would you want to pay $16 for a bowl of food? That's just ridiculous like Pollo bowl size so you're forced to pay the $20. I mean you do get a good significant amount of food service was pretty good here as well. The food was pretty good. I wouldn't stay to eat here I could if you want to, but it just seems like a lot of money 20 bucks to eat chicken and rice I mean come on man. These guys are making a killing in terms of their pricing for their food. That's crazy. I'm sure they're very delighted to know that they can get $20 for chicken and rice which is virtually cheap. Decent place for to go Hawaiian bbq. Ordered to go a few times and have tried most of the meat options and they were all about average. Dark meat chicken: the best meat option of all I have tried. White meat chicken: thin pieces of chicken and kinda dry. Short ribs: basically just bones. Teriyaki beef: scraggly scraps of beef with some gristle. Chicken katsu: they douse it in sauce after it's been fried which makes it soggy by the time you get home. If they did the sauce on the side, this could be salvaged. The best thing on the menu is the macaroni/potato salad. It is so delicious and tastes like what you would have in Hawaii. You get a solid amount of food but it is definitely not cheap. When i am spending $50 on spam musubi and a chicken beef combo that costs $31 I expect better than receiving something that's served to you in cheap styrofoam containers, but that isn't even what really bothers me. What does is the fact that they charge you $2 for 2 (pathetically small) ounces of kimchi . Then on top of it the musubi wasn't even made properly and was completely just unwrapped and haphazardly thrown in another styrofoam container. We all come here knowing its a little on the pricey side because the food is delicious. But please have a little more respect for your paying customers, especially when you're elbow deep. I mean seriously, $2 for that much kimchi should be criminal. The food is delicious though, I will give them that, but its not enough for me to turn my head and ignore the subtle price gouging. read more
