My friends and I were looking for some late night Asian food and this place happened to be open around 11pm so we hit it up. Right off the bat, I peeped the reviews to see if they were good and I noticed, a lot of the issues were with the service but nothing about the food being bad, so it was a go! Once we arrived we were instantly seated and they were quick and attentive! The lady took our order, while the other lady was pushing carts with huge pho bowls on them. I'm not going to lie, the bowls were looking amazing! The place was pretty busy and clean. The vibe was cool and everyone was either in a group or with their significant other, so I was digging the vibe. I went with the teriyaki chicken plate, while one of my boys got the bulgolgi plate and the other got a bowl of pho. I thought my chicken teriyaki was amazing but I did have a bite of my boys bulgolgi and it was not the hit and I LOVE bulgolgi. I def won't be ordering it there. I got the Super Bowl pho which basically has a lot of beef and pork and seafood. Cost around 20 and I got me a side of egg rolls. The service personally wasn't the greatest and that's why I gave it a 2 star. There were only 2 lady workers running the show for 18 tables I think I counted. Which had a Hispanic male in the back and I was like this is not authentic pho. I was cold and I asked if I could not sit by the door and she told me no. They took forever to bring utensils and napkins. The ambiance was casual and okay. At the end when I was almost finished with my pho I notice two Asian men came in and the lady knew them but gave them a huge table and they did not order food or anything which I was like damn that sucks. I'm cold sitting next to the door and they walked in and got a nice sitting. And I knew if I brought CAREMAL kisses she would have not liked the meat it was chewy and the texture was a bit weird. And this is coming from me so I know she had a part that she left on me to be detailed about the taste and texture because I wouldn't have said anything before meeting her. I would come again just to see if I get the same experience but I hope I don't and I would come back. Cali Pho Nia is my go-to whenever I'm craving pho--especially when the weather is cold and I need a comforting bowl of soup. I haven't been disappointed yet. Their brisket pho is delicious, with quality meat and great noodles every time. One thing I really appreciate is that everything comes packaged separately--the noodles, broth, and beef--so the noodles don't arrive soggy. They also include a nice big bowl so you can mix everything together yourself, which makes a big difference. The veggies on the side are always fresh as well. The food itself is consistently great. I'm giving it 4 stars only because I haven't actually been to the restaurant or interacted with the staff, as I usually order delivery. I ordered the Steak & Brisket Pho, which I thought had a good balance of meat and noodles. The broth was pretty flavorful and definitely warm and comforting. We also had the Cha Gio, which was freshly prepared and perfectly crispy and savory. The service was decent, and there was a pretty lively vibe. I signed the receipt without paying attention that it was the pre-tip amount. So the server took it upon herself to correct the total to include the imposed tip. Fine..but, I happen to read on the bottom of the menu page that they do charge 18% for parties OVER 5. We were EXACTLY a party of 5. I was planning to tip 20% anyway, but since they imposed, great. TLDR: Big portions, not great service. I ALWAYS used to recommend Cali Pho Nia to my friends in the Valley who were looking for Pho, but unfortunately my most recent experience may have likely changed that. It was a rainy day and they were pretty busy, but for the whole restaurant they had just one waitress and she was not hitting the mark. We asked for water at least 4 times before we had to stand up and go to the front to ask for it again. We also asked for extra toppings for our pho, and they brought us a dishes with two tiny slices of jalapeno, two lime wedges and one sprig of basil for both of us. Their bowls are HUGE so skimping on the toppings doesn't make a ton of sense to me. When the waitress brought us our appetizer, we also had no napkins or any other plates to eat it on. Finally our pho came out and we were excited! I got the beef brisket pho and when it arrived, the meat was still a little pink so I mixed it into the broth and it changed color. However when I was mixing up my bowl, I found a giant piece of hard paper, like maybe from a label of a box, floating around in my bowl. I told the waitress about it and she took the bowl back. Less than 1 minute later, a gentleman brought the bowl back to the table, and the meat was not pink. I'm pretty certain they just gave me the same bowl right back, otherwise the meat should have been fresh like when I initially got it. No way to prove it of course, but it was a little suspicious how fast that bowl came right back to the table after we had experienced such snail's pace service the rest of the time. After we finished eating, we sat the table for a few minutes waiting for the check. Nothing. So we went up. After PAYING FOR OUR MEAL!!! Which might I remind you all, is the ONLY legal obligation you have at a restaurant, my husband left a tip. The server/cashier demanded my husband give her a larger tip. "Minimum 15%". Never in my life have I ever had someone demand a tip from me. We were both so thrown off. So my husband handed her another dollar. To which, again, she said "too small". I'm sorry. Aren't tips OPTIONAL? There was no sign or previous conversation about tips being a mandatory 15%?! And if that's the case why wasn't it factored into the price we paid for our meal? This place is good enough to get your Vietnamese fix on when you're in the valley. The brisket pho came in a massive bowl with sides of cilantro, lime, bean sprouts, and jalapenos. The broth was super tasty with a little tamarind tanginess to it. It was good enough without having to add any condiments to it. Oooh....and the meaty fried egg rolls were delicious too! None of the workers were in the front at the register (they were in the back kitchen preparing food). I greeted the servers and waited to order my meal. I got the steak and brisket pho while my friend got the seafood pho. The pho itself tasted decent. Back in my hometown, I would eat at my favorite pho restaurant 1-2 times a month so I have pretty high expectations when it comes to pho. I think the broth was a little watered down and the cilantro they gave on the side seemed a little dried out. Although the bowls were huge, the meat ratio was pretty small. Spring rolls are my favorite but the spring rolls here was small and not that flavorful. The peanut sauce could have been so much better. Last time I'll ever be coming here. The service has declined tremendously. Our waiter (a short woman with a bob haircut) was inattentive and rude throughout our visit. When we asked for the check and to-go boxes, she gave us noticeable attitude. As I got up to pay the check, she physically cut in between my friend and me just to see if I had written a tip on the receipt. She then said, "You know tip isn't included, right?" I told her yes, and she followed up by asking if I was leaving cash. I was planning on leaving a cash tip despite the poor service, but the way she pressed me about it was completely inappropriate and uncomfortable. When I said no, she even asked why. I was honestly shocked that a server would confront a customer like that over a tip. Extremely unprofessional experience. Got hungry around 9:30 so we found this gem of a restaurant that was open late. We chose where to sit and the fun began. We ordered immediately and the food was brought out to us in a very efficient manner. A visual menu is available on a large screen inside the restaurant along with a printed menu which was provided. Our order was prepared accurately and it was delicious. We are very satisfied with our food, with the prices, with the service, cleanliness, and ambiance for sure. The restaurant is located in a shopping center and there was ample parking. They're open until 11:50pm which is perfect for late night phö lovers. Tried a new place that has been here for about a year already but never had the pleasure of visiting. I believe there's a few location to add to their rooster. First off, I couldn't figure if it was Vietnamese or Korean as they had signs inside hinting it but mainly pho on the menu. There was a few rice dish that could sum it as Korean. Anyhow, menu wise did have a good selection of pho. You have your basic to seafood, all meat, mixed and so on. Restaurant alone is pretty spacious. Pictures menu along the ceiling of the windows as well as your standard menu. Food wise, we went with the spring rolls. 2 rolls which was pretty good in size and served with two dipping sauce, peanut and your traditional fish. Overall, quite good. Main, the Cali pho I believe which is the combination. Booth seafoods and meat. Plenty of seafood as well. Portion wise, it was pretty massive as it was served in a oversized bowl and served with a ladle. As with your pho dish, side veggies comes along side it. Broth was ok. Rice dish, we went with the seafood as well. Served on a sizzling plate with a good portion of steamed white rice and a generous amount of seafood as well. It was quite flavorful which was great. Nice, inviting and clean restaurant. Surprisingly empty (like the other businesses in this strip mall) on a Saturday night around 6pm, so I found a parking spot relatively easy outside. Staff were attentive and my order came out relatively quickly. I ordered Beef Spring Rolls which weren't on the menu. They were well wrapped. The accompanying Peanut sauce was a little creamy and less Peanut-y for my liking, but still good. My Beef Bahn Mi Sandwich was more like a Korean fusion. I enjoyed it, and it was packed with alot of meat. I got a report from my fellow diners that the Meat combo Pho was very tasty. The Fried Rice was good - not sure if it was more Korean or Vietnamese.
