    Classic Salmon Bowl
    Gray R.

Decent poke, but nothing worth a second visit for. I was hoping this place would be amazing since Mississauga could use some more poke offerings. I tried the Classic Salmon, Big Island, and the Spicy Mango in regular size. Portion size is acceptable, the amount of fish you get in each bowl is okay, and toppings were good. I appreciate the fact the rice had rice vinegar in it, since I've had poke elsewhere where it didn't. That said, sauce is the heart of a poke bowl to me, and the sauce is disappointing here. The Classic Salmon and Big Island use basic sauces of spicy mayo and wasabi mayo, which I can mix myself at home, and the Spicy Mango sauce is more unique (flavour is ok but not great) but they don't give you enough of any of the sauces in any of the bowls, even after I asked for extra sauce. It feels more like a light sprinkle/glaze and leaves most of the bowl dry, whereas I think if they had better sauce and gave more of it, it'd give the bowl the kick of flavour it needs. I got the bowl at BOGO which was around $8 each and even at that price point, this was just passable. At OG price of ~$16 I'd pass on this as I know many places who can do better. I recently had a poke bowl as part of an AYCE place and this poke tasted about the same.

Super excited to try another poke place, sadly another less than stellar poke experience…read more Mississauga needs more poke, but I haven't found a new favourite to outdo Poke Guys or Mihito yet. I was eager to love the salmon poke bowl I got from Poke Poke. Ingredients were fresh, staff were nice, and service didn't take too long. Location is also fantastic, right next to a lot of other Asian restaurants and in a pretty popular area in Mississauga. The shop is small but the ordering area is a bit cramped, flush against the wall. It wasn't that busy when I went, so that wasn't a huge issue. Pricing is about the same as everywhere else you can get poke, but portions run small. The salmon was good in terms of flavour - I love it when places marinate the salmon because it adds to the flavour of the bowl - but there wasn't a lot of it and I hit the bottom of the bowl with only rice and a bit of veggies left over. Biggest issue for me was sauce - I asked for extra (unagi and shichimi, which were solid) and got what I would consider regular at best. Dry poke is sad and ruins otherwise a fantastic meal. All in all a decent poke place if you're really dying to get some. The ingredients are fresh but portion size + pricing doesn't really give me any reason to come back.

They have a lot of signature options or you can choose to build you own poke bowl. I went with the Californication (one of the signature bowl) which comes with both tuna and salmon, crabmeat salad, avocado, seaweed salad, mangoes, and masago. You also get to choose the sauces you want on top and mix and match as your heart desires. I got the sesame sauce and spicy mayo. The price is on par with most poke places and you get a good sized portion for the regular. My bowl was packed to the brim! They were super generous with the tuna and salmon and you can tell that the ingredients were quite fresh. I loved my bowl and was super satisfied and full afterwards. I was informed at the beginning that they are planning on redoing the front of the store into a seating area so that should be coming soon. In the meantime, you can only really do takeout at this place and there's no public seating outside in the plaza. Overall, good poke and decent price. I'll be back next time when I need a poke fix.

I got the poke your way regular size, which comes with two choices of proteins and a variety of different topping options. I loved how many sauce options they had and your ability to customize the level of sauce you want. It came out to be a really flavorful, refreshing, a delicious bowl of poke. I feel like the portion size could be slightly bigger though. While it's not the best poke I've had, I feel they are deserving of 5 stars because of their excellent service. We came in close to their closing time, and immediately upon entering we were greeted by the owner. He was so nice and very accommodating! We had to stay a little longer in the shop to wait for a taxi after eating and he didn't rush us out despite it being past their closing time. The place itself was also really spacious and well-lit. There are a good amount of tables to dine in as well. Good poke and 10/10 service :)

We went with the Spicy Pork Korean Bowl. This includes gochujang pork, pineapple salsa, beets, corn, crispy onions, cilantro, jalapeños, and citrus cilantro. The nice lady working there asked if I wanted to switch any of the ingredients for something else. We started with purple rice as the base and changed out the cilantro and jalapeños for gari (Japanese pickled ginger) and sesame seeds. There are several sauces to choose from and we went with the miso sesame. I found it to be a bit too creamy for my liking. It's a decent sized meal for 1 person and definitely sharable with another if you get something else to go with it. There's several bases, toppings and garnishes to choose if you want to fully customize your meal. I'd like to try another Korean bowl or even a bao next time.

I'm a huge poke lover, but I just couldn't love this poke. First, portion size runs small, but this is normal for the Square One food court. I had 50% and paid around $7-8 but at original price ($13.50) you could get a lot more elsewhere. In terms of flavour and quality, this place is imo the worst amongst all other poke places I've been. Bottom line is it doesn't really taste like poke. Some ingredients don't feel like they fit well with poke (ex. beets throwing off the flavour of the bowl, too much of the sour carrots making the bowl very sour), there isn't much of the watery sauce (ginger ponzu), and the rice was very soft/almost watery. I asked for extra salmon in my bowl (an extra $3.50 or so) and received no extra salmon in comparison to the same salmon poke bowl I got with a regular amount of salmon lol. I'm not sure if it's because this place is a fusion kitchen but all the flavours felt very strange, and that's coming from a person who always opts for the weirdest ice cream flavour choice on any menu. I didn't enjoy it, wanted to give up on my bowl halfway, and don't think I have a desire to be back. For anyone else who eats this bowl, I do recommend refrigerating it for a couple hours before eating. It tastes a LOT better cold.
