Fried Gyoza, Ono Fries, Build Your Own Bowl - Large

Food first, thoughts after... Ono Poke will always have a special place in my heart. It truly changed my life when I first discovered it at Pitzitz food hall about 10 years ago. When asked about fave restaurants, Ono poke will always come to mind. So good I made a collection of "top asian foods" and it is on the list. They have expanded into multiple locations which has been a blessing. Recently dropped by this location and as usual it hit the spot.

Kind staff and fast service. All the ingredients are fresh, and the fish is marinated well. Casual ambiance. They do give you a lot of rice and less of the good stuff, but I still felt full and satisfied with my meal.

I normally go to the Homewood location when in Birmingham, but I was near the Summit. This location is just as good at the original! Their fries are hot, crispy, and have just the right amount seasoning. My crunch bowl was piled high with toppings and fresh salmon. The staff are always kind and quick, and there is plenty of room to find a seat. Truthfully, I liked this location a little better because it also has outdoor seating. Love this place!

Of the locations in Birmingham, the summit location is by far the best. I always get a kids bowl, but have heard incredible things about every other menu option. Quickest service ever. Can get loud around lunchtime but is a nice environment including lovely outdoor seating!! Such a cheerful staff too, the best.

Today I had two work people with me that had never been to Ono Poke bc they were from out of town. They both had their minds blown and loved the food they got for lunch. I still love it and my order was delicious again and the servers were all still great today and I see the ones that are constantly cleaning up every single thing in and outside of their restaurant. So great.

half salmon, half spicy tuna with pretty much everything except the Cheetos and seaweed.

We ate here for a date night and it was so good! We got half spicy tuna, half salmon and pretty much all the toppings except the Cheetos and seaweed. The guy that took our order was super helpful and let us try all the sauces. Ponzu and spicy mayo were my favorite since all the others were pretty sweet. We sat outside- which was almost like being in Hawaii, except not even close. But the service was great, and food was excellent, and the weather was nice. We'll definitely go back!

The food itself was great, and the employees were friendly. I had the lava bowl, and I really enjoyed it, though I have to remember to get it without the jalapenos next time. Those add just a tad bit too much spice for me, but the rest is good. I had brown rice base, with the tuna and it was, overall, a very good meal and I was very happy with it and would definitely order it again. My main issue here was the bathroom - I had to take my toddler in to use the bathroom, and it was not a fun experience. No toilet paper. No paper towels. I had to text my wife to bring something to the door for us to use. Very frustrating, especially when trying to keep a toddler from touching everything in the room.

The ahi tuna was amazing. I enjoyed the customization of making my own bowl. While waiting on my order, I went next door and got a boba tea for a perfect combination. It will be my treat meal again the next time I come to the Summit.

I've been wanting to try this location for a while now, ever since I saw the beautiful neon pink Mahalo sign. This place is super cute and shares a hallway with Teaspoon Cafe. I saw a lot of customers with their boba teas sitting and chilling in here. I think it's a good way to eat some Poke and enjoy some boba! I got a build your own bowl. I chose a base of half spring mix and half brown rice. I chose ahi tuna as my protein. Then I chose toppings of rice seasoning, cucumbers, edamame, crunch, scallions, crab salad, and hot cheetos. I chose two sauces on the side, but now I can't remember which two I chose lol! The bowl I created was pretty good, I do think I wish it was a bit saltier, which soy sauce seems like the best fix for that problem. We got here about 8:10pm which they close at 9:00pm. So by the time we were done eating and just chit chatting, one of the workers came to our table and told us they were closing in a few minutes. We cleaned up our tables and went outside, but found a lot of other diners were outside still talking and hanging out so we sat at a table outside and did the same. I wish the guy would have offered us to do that rather than ask us to pack up and just leave. So I give this experience one star short of five stars.

Quick service, fresh food, and cute dining at a low cost! I've eaten at Ono Poke several times and it never disappoints. I usually order the small build your own bowl and add just about every topping. Even the small bowl is very satiating, and most toppings you can add without any additional cost! I'm excited to come back again!

AHH! Seriously my favorite place to eat. It has become a comfort food for sure. It is very refreshing and keeps you full! Great customer service and the place overall is a fun vibe. It's also joined with a Boba store!

My daughter and I went here for the first time recently and both built custom bowls. It was delicious and all of the ingredients taste so fresh. Cute photo wall and a convenient place to grab delicious food at the Summit.

Poke bowl (large) with tuna and salmon.

We ate here for a late lunch / early dinner and were blown away by the team and the food. The atmosphere is casual with the walk up counter being fast food like but the food was anything but casual. The team was very friendly and obviously busy in the back. Our choice was the large bowl each and every item chosen was great. We will definitely consider this place for a snack or meal again soon.

And of course they had me at poke bowls. It's one of my top 5 things to eat, honestly. But I ordered a Buddha bowl because it's almost the same thing and I felt a little lazy to DIY (not to mention, the Buddha bowl looked tantalizing!) They have other veg options, but I set my sights on that bowl as soon as the friendly counter guy suggested it. It's overloaded with goodness--avocado, deliciously marinated tofu, edamame (yes, it's a protein-rich bowl), tomatoes, shredded carrots, diced cucumbers, greens and more. You're literally devouring the rainbow here, friends. For drinks, they have a modest but decent selection of beer, wine (a decent bubbly in a can!) and sake in addition to soft drinks. The place is so beautiful (and spotlessly clean) with plants dangling from the ceiling and beautiful murals throughout. If I lived in the neighborhood, I'd be here all the time.

When not seated at the bar they do have someone to come around to make sure you have what you need. The servers are very nice and tend to remember you, which is a great feeling. The menu rotates seasonally, which makes it easier to try new things. My favorite menu item so far has been the cheeseball that was on the menu around Christmas time. It had a great flavor served with crackers the only thing is when we came back after the first of the year it wasn't on the menu anymore. On my most recent visit I had the queso which also had great flavor, served with blue corn tortilla chips. When it comes to the drinks I like how on the menu they let you know how strong it is using toucans. Many of the drinks feature rum, but they do still offer some gin and tequila options. Everything I've had has been good and something I would try again. I would like to note that many of the drinks are fruity and can be somewhat sweet. At Christmas time they even had holiday themed drinkware which I felt was a nice touch. If you are not a drinker, they also have options for mocktails. Which has been great for me the last couple of months. I didn't care for the Phony Negroni, but I think Negroni itself might be an acquired taste

There is only one type of noodles you can get (glass noodles), and only a few selections of red meat and vegetables. But hey, I won't complain, because you can't get it elsewhere.
