This Onroute service stop is the last one before Ottawa if you are coming from points west on Highway 401. I usually stop at this one or the one before, which is the Onroute Odessa. I have been to this rest stop countless times. It's functional. There are plenty of washroom stalls, four food options (Tim Hortons, A&W, New York Fries, and Onmarket (which is like a convenience store with some prepackaged food, including some items from Freshii) and of course gas (Canadian Tire Gas). There's also a CIBC ATM. It's a smaller Onroute, but serves its purpose. The WiFi is usually spotty and not all that reliable. Gas is also always more expensive than in town off the highway, but you pay for convenience. Food prices are also generally higher and no specials like you would find at locations in town. read more

Honestly, there's a new Starbucks and it's the worst I've ever had. I went to the walk up window to order. The window is situated below a huge air conditioner which blows you around like your a feather. Not sure who designed this but omg, what were you thinking? Then it literally took 5 minutes to order 2 coffee mistos. Which is coffee with steamed milk. No, I don't want an americano misto, I want a coffee misto. I get 2 black coffees handed to me. Mallorytown seems to be the place to stop enroute to Montreal. I have my usual routine of getting gas first at the Canadian Tire pumps and then heading over to the main building for a washroom break and snack. People tend to hang around the doorways and entrance to the washrooms, so keep that in mind if you need to distance. Hold your breath and run the gauntlet; you can do it! I usually go to the A&W which has the smallest lineup, and get a gut-stuffer teen burger combo, and head back to the vehicle. Most of these stops have closed their picnic bench area (boo) but if you head to the back where the trucks gather, you can slip into the twilight zone of where the pavement meets nature and try to ignore the truckers idling and pungent odor of diesel fumes and focus on the greenery back there gently swaying in the wind.. read more

We just stopped quickly for a minute for a much needed pit stop. It was a long weekend, and crowded - this is the Sunday in the middle of the long weekend. I do understand that it's still COVID times, but this was the dirtiest toilet facilities I have seen in a very long time! Overflowing toilets, and wet floors in the stalls. The other odd thing was free flowing no-touch water taps, but the soap dispensers do not have motion sensors. Also, the gas station at this stop had the most expensive gas we had seen all weekend, at $1.44 for self serve, or $1.48 for full service. Yikes!! read more

We drove by a few of these on our way from Toronto to Montreal. They are great. Big, lots of parking, lost of food selection, well lit and clean. After driving after a few hours, we stopped here to gas up and grab a bite to ear. I have seen places like these in the states, but not all are created equal. Some are great, while some are nothing more than a bathroom stop. Also, I got to try a couple of fast food places we don't have in the states like Tim Hortons and A&W (yes, like the soda)! read more

Decent rest stop on our way to Quebec. We stopped here for Tims and Gas. There is a convenience store and gift shop onsite. Food wise there was a lot of choice... From Tims, Swiss Chalet to A&W. The washrooms were clean. Its a good stop to make as there are very limited good stops on this route especially once you hit Quebec. read more

This stop seemed much more relaxing that Port Hope for whatever reason. I liked the fact that they had either Swiss Chalet or A&W to choose from rather than East Side Marios and Burger King. Both have Tim Horton's however which is the standard for any reason to stop and rest. These On Routes are much better kept than the previous versions of these highway side stops and seem to be more standard of one another with little differences in choices to eat among them. Thankfully this Mallorytown location doesn't have Burger King like many of the others on the way to Montreal from Toronto. read more

A&W closed at 7pm. Just as truckers are coming in for the night looking for food. Subway, out of stock on product. Not the first time I've seen this at Subway in the service plazas. One Subway had no tomatoes in the heart of tomato country. Piss poor management at all on route locations. They figure they're the only game in town, so they don't care! read more

I visited this rest stop on my way to Montreal. It is clean and there is plenty of parking. I left in a Saturday during the Labour Day long weekend. You'd expect craziness, but it wasn't as busy as I had expected. The restrooms are clean. There is even a water fountain for pets! There is a Tim Hortons and A&W. I didn't feel like a huge meal. Instead, I got a sandwich, ate in the food court area, and continued my road trip. (197) read more

The Enroute service has become absolutely horrendous. Waiting half an hour in each line up for a coffee or something to eat while you are travelling is not acceptable, just because Enroute has a monopoly on the highway. It is the same concern in either direction. read more

Ontario has upgraded significantly it's 401 rest areas and have created this "ONroute" concept. Each one is fairly standard with a convenience store, a Tim Horton's, a Canadian Tire gaz station. This one has also an A&W and a Swiss Chalet. I stopped this week for a quick bite but since I was close to 8 pm, the Swiss Chalet was closing (early isn't it?) and was out of gravy!!! In the summer, there's a lot of buses stopping here and even though there are plenty of restrooms, it could get very crowded! Clean, modern, efficient but without any character. read more

I'm writing a review because it deserves more than one star based on someone's bad Tim Hortons order. Generally the ONroute rest stops are quite decent. My favourite part of them is that you can just pull off and then immediately back on the 401. In most other provinces/states, you have to get right off the freeway for gas/supplies. It is super convenient and is largely the basis for me giving it 3 stars. Other than that, the restrooms are exceptionally clean and it has terrible fast food that you eat for speed and convenience. They do have some decent sandwiches and other options in their convenience store but they are over priced for what you get. Overall, I am very glad it is there but I'm not cheering for joy when I pull in. read more

I want to express my sincere appreciation for the staff and managers of the Mallorytown East Onroute. I don't know what happened to my brain but I left my purse hanging on the back of my chair after stopping there. 2 hours later in Montreal I realized what I had done: my purse containing my cash, credit cards and Ipad was gone. After having a complete meltdown I found the phone number on the internet spoke to the manager who kept it safely locked up until I picked it up 4 days later, on the way home with everything intact!!! so 5 stars for care and honesty.
