A week ago I asked the Ontrac delivery person that was delivering a package to my property to leave future packages at my front door because he had been delivering them to my back gate behind a vehicle, my back gate is on a different street than my home and delivery address and is not visible from my front door so we had mot been seeing that he had been leaving packages there. The driver was very confrontational and aggressive when I asked him to leave the packages at the front door according to the delivery instructions. I have received 2 separate shipments delivered by Ontrac and the same delivery driver after the interaction with the driver 1 week ago. He left both boxes at my front door but only after they had been so severly damaged that I had to request refunds from the company that I ordered the items from. One of the 2 orders had a shoe print showing where the driver stomped on the package after setting it in front of my door (I watched him enter my property with an undamaged box then opened the door when he left to see the damage he did to my order). I filed complaints with Ontrac about his behavior and the damage but the violence amd damage to my shipments seems to have increased with each new complaint. read more

I received a package from Ontrac (the shipping company used by an online food store). The delivery man left the box at the very end of my long porch (right next to the edge of my house!). He did not bother to walk it to the door where the box would not be visible by anyone walking by. I wasn't surprised by the lack of professionalism. I purchased an item via Amazon Prime. Unfortunately, the item was routed to one of Amazon's approved 3rd party shippers - ONTRAC - which are anything but on-track. Upon viewing tracking info. and seeing the package had returned to the Petaluma, CA facility multiple times, I sent an email inquiry to Customer Support. The representative attempted to lie to me, stating the package had been help-up do to weather. When I informed her that Sebastopol, CA was a mere 15 mile from Petaluma, CA and weather conditions had been clear and 70ish degrees - she had no response other than "sorry for the delays." Yesterday (1-2-2014), tracking indicated the package was "out for delivery" and remained as such until 9:00pm last night, when they changed it to " Delivered 1-2-2014 at 10:02am" - they lied again - the package had not been delivered. This morning (1-3-2014) they changed the status back to "out for delivery." It is apparent they make-up the rules as conditions necessitate. A short while ago, their was a knock on the door. Outside, was a dilapidated little economy car with no company markings whatsoever. The polite driver was adorned in jeans, covered with dirt and oil stains, appearing as if he had been under the car working on it for the passed 3 days the package was late. Seriously? Yeah. I am afraid so. Fortunately, for his sake, he did not arrive after dark. In my opinion; no company should attempt package deliveries after dark in unmarked vehicles - it's just common sense and courtesy - with the exception of Fedx and UPS. I conveyed my experience to Amazon and they acknowledged it is a serious issue which will be addressed. If you ever see an ONTRAC shipping option - pass it up knowing you made the right decision. read more

For two months I have been unable to have a weekly package delivered to the front door of an address, despite paying for door-to-door service. Instead, they just drop it off in an alleyway near the building without even bothering to try and find the door, despite the door numbers appearing in plain view. I'm pretty sure this office regularly just says they are out for delivery then the driver just bails on work early and marks the rest of his stops as office closed, or no one home. I had a similar experience as other posters. In a way I feel sorry for the people that work at this company. Their customer service is swamped with upset people that did not choose to be reliant on them to receive a package. OnTrac is cost effective for many vendors to ship (Staples, Amazon, VitaCost for starters). The problem is OnTrac is not equipped with the logistics infrastructure that UPS and FedEx has or the USPS for that matter. That makes them slow, inefficient and disorganized. The lesson i learned was that when a vendor offers "free shipping" to ASK the vendor who is doing the shipping before committing the order. i will never use OnTrac again for any purposes at all. I probably would not be upset with them if not for my first and only experience with having an online status say "Out for Delivery" for 3 days before my shipment was delivered. The OnTrac depot is based in petaluma and i am in petaluma. So in other words it takes 3 days for a small box to get across town? They needed to just provide an accurate delivery estimate but their tracking tools are not that sophisticated. 2 stars only because I did get miraculously and eventually get my package. read more

Has anyone - seriously now - ever given OnTrac a good review? Has anyone had a good experience with them? And yet places like Amazon still use them, just so they can save a few cents over using far more reputable companies like UPS or FedEx. Look, I love shopping locally. I do. But I'm also not made of money - and when a local store is selling something for $100 and I can get it from Amazon for $50 with free shipping, it's a bit of a no brainer. So I buy quite a bit of stuff from there. And yep, I can sympathize with wanting to save money. But to a point. I pay for the Amazon Prime service. $100 a year now, after Amazon complained that gas prices made it more expensive. But I'm not a patient man, and love the two day service. But, since they use OnTrac for more than 3/4 of the packages that come to my door, they need to change that description to "2-Day Shipping. Ish. Maybe 3. Sort of." The problem is that OnTrac pay their drivers by the package, not a standard wage. So it's like they're hustling for tips. So to make as much as possible, many drivers will take on more packages than they can handle - and several lie about it afterwards to avoid getting caught out. On the occasions where my package arrives on time (about a 50-50 shot), the driver doesn't even bother getting out of his car (yes, car - they use their own vehicles). Instead he'll just pull up next to my house, and fling my delivery vaguely in the direction of my porch. There's nothing like pulling fragile glass out of your bushes, or trying to get a package of delicate computer components out of the tree. Which is still better than hearing the "THUMP" of one of those packages smack against the side of the house, or land with a resounding smack on our brick pavement. On the occasions where my package DOESN'T arrive on time... well, like I said, get ready to be lied to. Many's the time I've gone online to track a package that was supposed to be delivered that day, only to see that the driver claimed that they attempted delivery but nobody was home - when that's not only a flat out lie (I work from home) but calling OnTrac's customer service will usually get a response of "Oh yeah, not sure why he did that, he wasn't even able to get to your area today, let alone your house." Or they'll claim that it was actually delivered, and signed for by... some random name. Only for it to then appear the following day, as if by magic. (In the bushes, of course.) I've heard stories of drivers dropping off dozens of packages at a friend's house, with the intention of swinging by later to grab them and deliver them after hours - or have the friend deliver them for a cut of the delivery fee. If they can be bothered. Complain all you want, write all the one star reviews you want though, these guys aren't changing, and neither will Amazon. read more

Amazon should not use Ontrac. Other carriers deliver thoughtfully to a secure location, Ontrac leaves by side of the road and marks that they've delivered to the front door. They've even marked as delivered on a Friday and then actually delivered on a Monday. I'd say about half of the packages they deliver are stolen because they leave them in an insane location. I'm up to 9 stolen packages. Efforts to leave notes suggesting where to leave packages are ignored. read more

Horrible Experience, I ordered a $600 item and needed it next day in the office and it never showed. When I called the place I ordered it from they said the delivery company ...OnTrac had it as delivered and signed by "Melissa".. We don't have anyone in the office by that name. I then had to go to all of the neighboring businesses to see if it was delivered to there place. Then I got a call two hours later saying the delivery drive marked the wrong box and it never was delivered and they don't know how it came up with that name. So six hours later they deliver to my office, when I talked to them six hours earlier I had said this was a critical item and needed to be priority as it was already a day late in delivery. SIX HOURS!!! We live in a small town...it doesn't take six hours to get anywhere! The driver who showed up was rude and dropped it at the back door... This company has the worst reviews of any company I have ever seen on YELP. I understand why. Yesterday at 8:30AM the dropped a package off flat on my driveway at 8:36AM. It had been raining for the past couple days and was raining when they delivered it. They could have moved it 20' to a covered area on my front porch. I came home at 6:30PM that night and missed running over the box with my car by an in. The box was soaked. The cardboard kind of melted in my hand. Their driver should be fired. When you call ONTRAC at their Petaluma Ca office they have an answering machine with a voice telling you to leave a message. They do not even identify the company name. Ordered stuff from amazon. Amazon did great BUT little did I notice they used ontrac (oncrap). Wow. Well it was suppose to be delivered on 12-31-13. Well I noticed it wouldn't be delivered until the 2nd. More then 2 days. So I called amazon and they gave me next day delivery for free. Well today (12-31-13 delivery day) I wait home all day and at 642pm I get a message from amazon saying ontrac tried to deliver the package. Lies. I called amazon and they couldn't even get ahold of ontrac. So amazon says call us tomorrow and we will take care of you. I told them that's fine. Well I call ontrac and am told the driver said it was to dark to deliver? TO FRACKING DARK. Yes mom's house is in the somewhat country. I called BS on ontrac. I asked if the delivery guy was scared of the dark. He didn't know what to say. I then told him to use a flashlight. And we wouldn't have this problem with ups or fedex. He hung up on me. I called to complain and then was treated with more of the same distinctive type of garbage left again, just when he was passing by, not necessarily delivering to me. Thanks so much for that. Now I don't even get the packages any more; when I log on to track, their system says it was delivered three days ago. Nope...does the driver now just throw out my packages because he's angry I complained about him leaving trash? Would give zero stars if I could. Ordered a new Keyboard on 11/29/19. Was told it would it would arrive on 12/3/19. Was then notified that it would arrive a day early, Awesome I thought. Well that never happened. Instead what happened was that my package was first mis-sorted, then delayed and would arrive on the orginal due date. That day came and I never got my package. Was then told that it was being held at the Warehouse and that I needed to contact them. I did and never got a response. Fast forward 3 days later, I finally get a notice that my package has been delivered. Finally! I think. Nope turns out they switched my package for someone else in town who just happens to have the same numbers for their address. I drove over to their house, who luckily live less than a mile away, to drop off their package with a note asking them to do the same if my package shows up there. Worst delivery experience ever! I ordered online from Home Depot and since they said they could deliver to the home on Saturday 5/22 or a week later to the store I chose deliver to home. I stayed home all day and through the evening. When the online tracking showing "in transit" for most of the day I contacted both OnTrac and Home Depot a couple of times on Saturday. I was told by OnTrac that they had until 9 pm to deliver so I couldn't submit a case until after 9 pm. I called a little after 9 pm and the automated message customer service is closed! So I submit an online message requesting that they reroute to package to Home Depot in Rohnert Park. I called both OnTrac and Home Depot the next day 5/23 and was told it would be delivered on Monday 5/24 to the home address. I explained that I would not be at the house on Monday and requested that they deliver the item to the Rohnert Park store (less than 10 miles) since there have been reports of mail / delivery theft in the area. OnTrac said they would notify the driver not to deliver the package, but to deliver the package to Home Depot required Home Depot's approval. I contacted called Home Depot to request that they contact OnTrac and was given a case # which they said they had escalated. I find out this afternoon that the item was dropped off at the original home address with no one there. And I mean literally dropped off - they dropped the almost 100 package inside the gate, but it blocked the gate so the package would get damaged when the gate opened. Fortunately, I was able to ask a neighbor to check on the box and move it to a safe location. I will never use OnTrac when given a choice and will recommend that Home Depot start using another service. read more

Like many other disgruntled reviewers, I have had the worst experience with OnTrac. I have been a loyal Amazon.com customer and whenever their parcels ship via UPS or USPS, they arrive right on time. With OnTrac, I have had multiple packages misplaced and made many complaints to their corporate office. When I do see them around, OnTrac drivers are dressed casually without identification and the vans they use are filthy and beat-up. Their image is not professional at all, it is dirty and shabby. With so many of my packages missing, I decided to investigate and found out where they were being delivered - at an address that differs from mine by one digit (my correct address was on the label, apparently the drivers can't read). On one occasion, I was able to go over to that address and retrieve my package from the doorstep. Unfortunately, the residents at that address are just as dishonest as OnTrac, so many of my packages simply vanished. Despite this, the OnTrac drivers lied to the corporate office and claimed they were able to successfully retrieve and deliver the package. Today, I am faced with yet another issue with an OnTrac driver who delayed the delivery of my package, citing that my road was blocked by construction. There is no construction. Even stranger is the fact that I had another package successfully delivered by OnTrac this morning. So either the second package was being handled by a different driver, or the same driver simply overlooked the second package. Either way, the driver lied about the construction and as a result my package is in the wind. I have little faith it will be delivered successfully. I made complaints to both OnTrac and Amazon.com on each occasion. Amazon.com refunded my money for the items and apologized. I sent another email today to Amazon.com strongly urging them to reconsider their relationship with OnTrac. In response, Amazon.com issued me a $10 credit and stated they would send my complaint to their shipping department. I hope the other reviewers on here are also complaining to corporate OnTrac and Amazon.com. Perhaps with enough complaining, we can change something. read more

I ordered some items off Zara last week and today the 26th, it says it was "out for delivery" at 6:48AM. I'd never heard of Ontrac so I googled them and I saw all these terrible yelp reviews about people never receiving their packages even though it said it was "delivered". I've been home all day and been constantly checking outside to make sure they didn't just throw my package on the side of the street. As well as refreshing my tracking page every 10 min (I was super paranoid the same thing would happen to me lmao). Of course at 11:22PM it updates and says the package was "delivered" at my front door at 10:15PM...wtf who even delivers packages that late?? I was actually outside checking to see if it came yet around at that time and didn't find anything. Later on when I saw the delivery update, I went to search for it around different houses in my neighborhood like a total creep and didn't see anything. So I'm assuming I'm one of the many lucky ones that they didn't actually deliver to in the first place. Definitely gonna call them up tomorrow morning and ask them what the F is up... Smh. UPDATE: I added an extra star for the manager being helpful and getting the situation resolved. I went in their facility/warehouse as soon as they opened and spoke to a manager about my situation. She took my tracking number and then came back out saying she spoke to the driver and he must of "delivered it to the wrong address". I was pretty upset because I had told her I looked around the neighborhood for it last night and didn't see anything. She told me he was going to go "look for it" and try to return it to my address within an hour, and if I didn't get my package I could call her number she gave me. So as soon as I pulled up to my house he had returned the package! I personally think he just didn't even get to delivering it that day and just used that as an excuse. But at least it got it done faster. So definitely go to their office yourself and speak to a manager and that should get them to move faster! read more

Horrible delivery service. I had a package from Amazon that OnTrac's website said would be delivered on Friday. As I needed the package in Friday, I called OnTrac to see when it would be delivered. They just said it would be delivered by 8 pm. When not delivered by the next morning I called back as their website said it was still out for delivery. They told me that they had mechanical problems and couldn't deliver it. And they would make no attempt to deliver over the weekend and they were closed so I couldn't even pick the item up. OnTrac strikes out again. I am surprised this company is still in business and that retailers are still using them. What is it with these people? Last night they delivered a package at 10 p.m. Who does that? Who wants a delivery person lurking around their home at 10 at night? They claim to deliver packages between 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Instead their late delivery woke up members of my family and generated a complaint from a neighbor...which I totally understand. I have notified the retailer that we will no longer accept any packages shipped via OnTrac and if they do, they will lose a customer! I also plan to put that in the instructions box of any other retailers I do business with or they can cancel the order. OnTrac previously said they couldn't deliver a package because our address didn't exist and my neighbor said they did the same thing to him. Geez. We live on a well travelled city street and UPS, FedEx, and USPS don't have a problem. OnTrac is a terrible delivery service and Amazon or the USPS should discontinue using them. Five (5) times I have contacted OnTrac (by phone mainly) to let them know their delivery person left packages on a public cul-de-sac rather than come down the driveway and put the package in front of my door. The management of OnTrac is responsible for these untrained delivery people who either throw the packages out the window onto a public street or who won't get out of their unmarked white vans to walk down a driveway to put packages in from of the door. (I never have this problem with UPS, FEDEX or USPS). My gracious neighbors (when I am not at home) pick up the OnTrac delivered packages from the street as they know so many packages are stolen. AND THESE PACKAGES HAVE BEEN LEFT ON A PUBLIC CUL-DE-SAC! Nothing seems to work with OnTrac to get them to deliver properly. Very poor management. read more

It didn't even show up on the upon arrival date, and when I called them to ask what happened, they said that my house was in an "unclear location", but I directly gave them my address. Another Problem. Since my original review in December, I have had a couple of packages that were actually delivered on time by On Trac. However, the driver always just tosses the package on my doorstep. I am an Amazon Prime member and order from Amazon often. I am seriously thinking of cancelling my membership. On 5/25 I placed an order and was dismayed to see it was shipped using OnTrac on 5/26, with delivery by 8 PM on 5/27. All day I've been checking tracking and it always shows received at Petaluma at 8:44 AM (this morning!). Finally at 5:45 the status was updated, but it now says "redeliver on next business day". REDELIVER? No delivery attempt was ever made! After reading reviews by others, something has really struck me as odd. I have NEVER had to sign for a delivery by OnTrac, but numerous reviewers have had pkgs go missing, but there was supposedly a signature "proving" the pkg was delivered. I have complained to Amazon to no avail. I guess my next step is to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Complaints to Amazon and OnTrac don't seem to be getting any changes made. read more

So tomorrow came and in the am hours the tracking said 'delivered.' When i got home, after 8pm....no package. I even checked with neighbors, looked all over or street and driveway...no package. Contacted Amazon who said the shipment looks like it was lost and can take months to find. So i hope to get a refund. 10/24/2015- I ordered a package i tracked it and it said it was delivered at my from door on 10/22/2015. Awesome right...? I go to the front door and nothing. I contacted the company and they said they will have to send the driver back on monday to verify the address he left it at and try to find it. Its currently thursday so your telling me the driver is coming back in 4 days to find a package left at the front door step somewhere like it is really still going to be there. I live on a military base so i checked with the front gate guards to see if OnTrac ever came on base to deliver a package that day. They never even came on base so how is the package on my front step? I would never recommend OnTrac to anyone. Sadly i don't have any choice of shippers when ordering products online. Clearly from all the other reviews, companies need to rethink using OnTrac as a product shipper. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Update 10/27/2015- Monday morning (10/26) i was contacted by a nice gentleman with great news...my package was at their facility and is out for delivery. Sounds familiar right? So i asked them then why does the online tracking say it's still in transit, don't you usually scan the box when it is delivered so the site would say delivered? The answer i got was "well normally". Don't worry though they sent an e-mail to the manager to see if he can locate it. 6 days after it was "delivered" for the first time and they are sending an e-mail. You guys were unable to delivered my package so I took it upon my self to request to pick it up. I drive 30 minutes to the pick up spot. Ring the door bell no answer . Wait ring it again no answer. I call customer service while I'm still outside waiting he tells me they are open someone should be there. I've been outside for OVER 30 minutes and rang the door bell at least 50 times before someone by the name of serria decides to come outside and help me. I show her my id give her the tracking number and explain to her I've been outside for 30 minutes. She disregards without even an apology I tell her I seen her thru the window walk right past me 3 times and I want to speak to her manager she informs me her managers name is Kelly and she will get me card and goes to get my package. While she's getting my package a women comes to the door and tells me I must move my car right now I said NO I've been outside for 30+ minutes waiting with my 3 month old baby crying and I'm not moving my car until I get my package. She begins to SCREAM at me which I have on video I better move my fucking car her driver need to go this women gets into a SCREAMING MATCH WITH ME!!!!!!!!!!!!! ALL WHILE IM ON THE PHONE WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE SO I ASSUME IT IS ALSO RECORDED THERE SO YOU CAN SEE HOW YOUR EMPLOYEES TREAT CUSTOMERS!!!!!!! So glad to see I am not the only one with problems! Amazon shipped my order with OnTrac, and it was split into 2 deliveries. One made it, one has not. Per OnTrac the driver "had problems finding my address" odd since the first driver found it just fine. The customer service rep on the phone forwarded a map to the Petaluma office and said I should get my package the next day. That was Monday, it is now Thursday, no shipping info has even been added to my shipment, I have called everyday, and now suddenly it appears my package has been lost. How in the hell does a package that was on a truck, and not delivered get lost? Shouldn't it still be on the truck...or somewhere are the facility? Absolutely ridiculous! Was it stolen? Dropped and broken? Things don't just disappear! And forget getting a phone call back from anyone, it just doesn't happen... read more

Three occasions have arisen where our household received packages through the delivery service of On Trac. What a horrible experience each time. They deliver in their personal vehicles which is sketchy to begin. The drivers do not know how to use a call box, as all three times we were sitting waiting for the delivery only to check that the comment was "no gate code." We don't have a gate!!! We have a call box with our name in one inch letters. This company needs to close. Not reputable, trustworthy, or dependable. Finally got the last package after a rant. Delivery from OnTrac is the worst. Rather than try to contact us or find our apartment, they just left the package in front of another apartment's door and marked it as "front door". We finally got it the next day. Considering that it contains perishable food, it may not even be good anymore. So frustrated. read more

I would give them ZERO stars if I could. I ordered an LED light from Amazon that was delivered by OnTrac, but it never arrived. When I reached out to them, they claimed it wasn't their fault and that they delivered it. I thought that maybe it was just a mistake, so I purchased another one as they aren't too expensive, but again, it says it's been delivered and is nowhere to be seen. I've ordered plenty of things off of amazon that have been delivered by FedEx, UPS, etc and have never had a problem. I don't know what is wrong with this company that they keep delivering my orders elsewhere. My address is correct, nobody else has trouble finding it, and yet they fail to deliver over and over. read more

THIS DELIVERY COULD NOT HAVE BEEN BETTER ! It's pouring rain, and after Bill (the courier ) rang my bell and I couldn't answer for a few minutes, I opened the door to find him painstakingly wrapping the box in a plastic bag to keep it dry !! A far cry from other services where I have known couriers to throw packages into the alley. read more

Horrible delivery service. They consistently drop my packages in front of my gate on a busy rural road even though my gate code is clearly listed on the label. My asphalt paved driveway is easily accessible by any size or type of vehicle. In these days of package thievery, this is unacceptable. The tracking information states that the package was left at my "front door". My front door is a half mile from the road. The last package was out there for almost twenty four hours - fortunately. people must have thought it was an empty box. This is unacceptable and I am no longer going to order from companies who use this delivery service. read more

Drivers drive dangerously fast through neighborhoods. Rude when approached. I make it a point when ordering to insure they don't use this company for my deliveries. Would give negative stars if able. read more
