Who later dropped the package by the edge of the yard and broke our front yard fence because they are vile. They were supposed to deliver a package to my husband on Friday. It didn't come and when we checked online that night it said it was headed back to their warehouse. They had "tried" to deliver it. They couldn't find our house. They never called. They didn't look very hard. Our house is on the main road/highway in our town... Anyway I had to call them Monday to find all that out, and to find out that it still had to be processed through their facility so they wouldn't be attempting to deliver it again till Tuesday. So I gave them our home number in case they couldn't find it... They couldn't find it. They called my husband at work, instead of our house. After talking about vehicles they got off the phone. The driver had been at the wrong address and gave up after the phone call. Half an hour later I get a call from my husband asking if it had been delivered. Of course it hadn't. I called them back pretty upset and they sent the driver back because he was still out on deliveries. I watched out the window for the next half hour until I saw their unmarked white van pull alongside our driveway. I ran out there, hollering "ontrac?!" The driver was already angling his van to pull back out when he rolled down the window as I ran up. He would've driven off again. He didn't even park and get out to look closer for the address. And we would've waited two more days for them to maybe deliver our package. This was all for a package from a company who guaranteed next day shipping in our area. It caused my husband and me a lot of frustration. I would give 0 stars if I could but I guess they deserve the 1 star for the person who helped me over the phone and got the driver headed back our way. He was helpful, he put up with my frustration, and he was calm. His name was Kevin. While his customer service skills were great though, the company totally dropped the ball. I HATE OnTrac with a fiery passion!! They have the worst service ever. They are unprofessional and leave boxes wherever they freakin feel like it. When I lived on a gated property, they would leave boxes out at the road to be stolen without even attempting to call to be let in... not to mention that they already HAVE the gate code!! And most recently here in my new home, I just happened to come home and exited my car when I heard someone on the street that dead ends to my backyard asking someone on that street if they were "###". I shouted out that I was ### and told him to meet me at my backyard fence so I could open the gate to get the package. When I got there, he dropped my box over an 8' fence to slam to the ground. He didn't even have a GPS that could find my STREET, let alone my house!! My friend just had her dog hit and run by an OnTrac driver that was speeding, ran a stop sign and clearly should not have been driving. I am furious that I generally do not have the option to CHOOSE my mail carrier when purchasing something!! Even if it cost me more money, I would never select OnTrac!! Can I give negative stars? Just got off the phone with customer non-service and told them my package that shows as delivered to front door is not at my home. The gate at my street was locked and the delivery to the front door was not physically possible. The driver lied about the delivery and the company will not do a thing but call me a liar. Absolutely horrible and not acceptable. I will cancel any order that uses this terrible company. One of the worse shipping companies I have ever dealt with. I ordered a package from Amazon and they were suppose to deliver it next day. The address was correct but they reported the address needed an apartment number. If you put my address in any GPS device it will pinpoint the exact location of my residence. Yet for some reason OnTrac cannot find it. My house isn't hidden behind some super secret passageway. The address numbers are clearly visible. After wasting hours of my time on the phone with them on multiple occasions, they tried to reassure me the package will be delivered. It's now four days the promised delivery date and still no package. Absolutely the worse!!!! Their customer service is horrendous. I am surprised they are still in business. I am EXTREMELY unhappy with my experience with OnTrac. I ordered an expensive item from Walmart and my delivery date kept getting pushed back. I called and asked Walmart what was going on and Walmart informed me that the carrier LOST MY PACKAGE. I ordered a replacement and the same thing happened. It seems like this has happened to multiple people. It seems too consistent for this to be a coincidence. OnTrac has not made any effort to locate my packages and now I'm out this money I've spent on this item TWICE. I will be pursuing legal action as I have been informed that the employees steal packages and the managers do nothing about it. This is ridiculous that these people are still in business. read more

Worst delivery service around. Delivery drivers take the liberty of signing for you when they deliver. So in my case when your package doesn't show and you call to tack it they say oh it was delivered. Really I say can you email me the electronic signature for when I singed for it? They send the email and it's just block writing of my first name not even in my hand writing! Fast forward to the next day I get my package originally delivered to wrong address- it was guaranteed the previous morning! Where to begin.... I've placed orders through Amazon/summit racing on a regular basis and have had numerous issues with packages getting mis-delivered/ or having a packaged "delivered" to never have it delivered, and having a signature signed for by me even when I'm not home to sign for the package. I live in the North West side of Petaluma, in town so delivering to my residence shouldn't have been an issue. The problem stopped when a new driver took over a few month back. Im not sure what nationality he is, but he looks Asian/Pacific Islander.He was the friendliest, most polite, professional delivery person I have encountered. I would always receive my packages in a timely manner, thanked me for using Ontrac and always replied with a "yes ma'am, no ma'am". However a few weeks back, the old pattern of packages being "delivered" and not being delivered, or packages being signed for under "John". There's not a John that resides at my residence. When I saw the Regular Ontrac delivery person I asked him if he knew anything about it. He told me that he was off for a week and that a different person was covering the route. I asked him a lot of questions and he took the time to address my concerns. It turns out that the delivery person are independent contractors. He told me that yes, he has been having a lot of customers ask him the same question in regards to packages being marked as delivered or signed for under the name, "John" and the customers not receiving their packages. He said that they subcontract under a contractor contracted with Ontrac. What a whirlwind of information that he was giving me. The driver said that the contractor would tell them, even if you can't deliver it, Mark it as delivered.... And try to get it out the next day.. So the route gets cleared. From his expression, the driver seemed to have an issue with that so I asked him if he followed the same practice. His response, "No ma'am, if I'm unable to deliver the package by the end of the day, I mark it under 'end of day' and re-attempt it the following day, although that is rare because I usually deliver everything on my route" and he showed me on his scanner device that has that option. He said that the other driver that covered his route would scan it as delivered and would stash it because he got overwhelmed. He offered me his personal number to call him if I had any concerns about future delivery. Talk about service and trying to meet the customers needs!!!! Talk about bad business practice. I was just notified (after 5 pm) that the package that was promised to me TODAY will not be delivered because today is Columbus day!!! THE USPS delivered a package to me today and they are supposed to be closed for a Federal Holiday. I have never had any luck with this company delivering on time or using common sense when it comes to where to place a package on my front porch. They place the package in front of my door which then goes flying down the stairs when I open my door from inside. I have repeatedly asked Amazon,com to find a better service and for a short time (2 weeks) they actually acted like they care. In the past year these people have: A: mis - delivered my packages to someone else B: Had someone else sign for a delivery for me and then insists that I did receive it ( No one at home other than my Golden Retriever! ) C: They took a 240 pound transmission core up to Ukiah when my address is in Santa Rosa. How do you do that? They also ' hold ' packages for days until they deliver. How can a delivery company do this? An address is an address - run the box to the destination and be done with it! Each time Tacking states "out for delivery" then "shipment delayed" and nothing further - calls to complain yield very considerate responses, but no resolution - twice after complaining packages were then reported as "delivered" at a time when I was home all day, yet it was not - only recourse is refund from the vendor - so frustrating! read more

Second time I have been forced to use ontrac. By far the worst experience. I was suppose to receive a package, I got the update while at home no more than 10 feet from where they said "they left it". And nothing, called in immediately to get support, they said they would need to "research", there website shows it signed for by someone in a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT CITY, 15 miles away. Then I got a call back, and in a day or so the driver will come back and "check where he left it". What kind of BS is that.... It's not there... I looked.... So now I have to wait... I kinda had a semi problem with them a while ago but I resolved it by just driving there and picking up my package because apparently dropping off my package my apartment office is too much...I let it slide until recently... I got an email from Amazon saying my package was delivered to my front door on Friday December 12, which was the expected date. Except it wasn't there or in the office. So I waited until the next day and called On Trac. Not only did they tell me to call and resolve it with Amazon, but when I called Amazon they called On Trac to find out that they had the package and they were going to deliver it today, Monday the 14th. Too bad it never showed up so I called Amazon they then called On Trac saying they didn't have my package. So after reading these other reviews, on Trac likes to lose a lot of packages during the holiday season...that's not shady. I'm not sure how the Ontrac in Petaluma stays in business. I've had problems with almost every delivery I've received from them. The first time I had a problem I was told they had delivered my coffee to my front porch even though my instructions were to deliver to my back porch, which is the only area protected from sun and rain. My front patio is a composit material that soaks up the sun and is too hot to step on when it's sunny out. The package was not delivered to me and I was told that the supervisor from this office would come show me where it was delivered. When he didn't show up by the next day, I called and was told the supervisor noted that he spoke to me and I was fine with everything. This was a surprise to me since I never received any calls or missed messages. The next delivery was left by my mailbox which is across a street and green area from my house. I pay for 2 day delivery to my porch and wouldn't even think to check by my mailbox except the tracking showed that's where this item was left. Another delivery was left in a neighbor's shrubs near the mailbox and got soaked by her sprinklers. My last delivery was from Blue Apron. It was also supposed to be delivered to the back porch. At 9 pm it was listed as delivered to the front porch @ 3 pm but wasn't. It was left on my front porch, in the heat, sometime the next day and the heat from the patio melted the ice so I had to throw-away the items. I'm supposed to receive a package from Amazon tomorrow. There was a time when they operated as California Overnight" and I loved their service. Things have changed. They've also been doing local delivery fulfillment for DHL. These guys have mis-delivered so many times that we tell all our international customers and suppliers to not use DHL as long as they continue to use OnTrac locally. I'm currently involved in a dispute with them over yet another non-delivery. Their driver will routinely drop off a package at some other location or just "disappear" the package altogether. Their latest fiasco has their tracking website showing the package as being "RETURNED" and delivery details as being delivered to a locked commercial building in the middle of the night. Needless to say, no package! Save yourself a lot of grief, use another carrier. read more

Like many, many customers, OnTraC is a terrible delivery service. Packages are always 4 or 5 days late and often thrown in the dirt or left on the edge of the street. When I have checked their web site concerning a delivery it was delivered 5 days later but displayed as delivered on the 14th instead of the actual delivery date of the 19th. Complaining does no good so I have told merchants that if you use OnTraC I will not shop with you. I have switched to shopping almost exclusively at Amazon because they have their own delivery service and always makes deliveries on time (but I don't pay for prime) unless UPS delivery is offered. The merchants that save a few pennies on delivery costs lose my business. They could avoid these loses but offering a choice better service at a slightly higher delivery charge. read more

This is the second time I ordered something from Amazon and they shipped via On Trac. The first time they delivered to the wrong address and yet when I spoke with them all they could say was that it said it was delivered. Not helpful! I tracked it down as I live on Fir Ave and there is also a Fire Ave in my town so I went to that address and there was my delivery. This time, the delivery date quoted got pushed to a later date. It still didn't arrive. I contacted Amazon. They "expedited". I got a text the next day that it was delivered. No package. Next day checked again, no package. Contacted Amazon again. They said it was marked delivered "by mistake". Later I got another text that it was delivered. The package was sitting on the roadside in the rain by our front stairs. Luckily the contents weren't damaged but I think On Trac is unreliable and would never use them. read more

We had medical supplies that took three weeks to get delivered and then only when we changed the address to a business 7 miles from out house. They leave packages on the side of the road and mark it delivered to the front door. Neighbor is waiting for baby food and diapers marked delivered but they were not delivered. I joined Yelp just so I could write this review. If I could give them a zero I would. I'm also going to report them to the Better Business Bureau. I was suppose to receive a package sent from Walmat today. Checked tracking it said it was delivered and signed by someone named Tony. No one named Tony here, they must have left it a the wrong apartment. Whoever got the big boxes are going to be disappointed, to find 8 large empty storage totes, we were going to use for our move. Called OnTrac after being on hold for 45 min they said there was nothing they could do if it was signed for. Told to call the Petaluma office in the morning to get them to send someone out to help me find my package. I stayed home all day because, I have had nothing but bad experiences with this company and was afraid something was going to go wrong. Speaking of which I had never heard of OnTrac until December, when we had some stuff shipped to our business address. Yes it's rural but the post office, UPS, FedX and other local services have no problem finding us. Something that was to be delivered next day took over a week, and that was only because I called the merchant and had them resend my order through FedX. The package was sent out on trucks for 3 different days, they could not find us, or it was too dark are the excuses they used. Then on the 3rd day it was taken back to their warehouse with a remark that it was damaged. That's when I call the merchant and had the order reshipped, they weren't very happy that such a large order had been damaged by OnTrac. For the Holidays I was given some yummy coffee as a present, since I didn't own a coffee maker I used Amazon to order a french press. The package was sent and arrived on time, but when it arrived I heard the box slam against the front door. I opened the door and the box was several feet from it, when I picked it up I knew right away that the coffee pot was broken. After much hassle I got my money back from Amazon, because they couldn't guarantee that the next one they sent wouldn't be shipped by OnTrac. My advice is to make sure what shipping service will be use when you make a purchase. If they wont use anything but OnTrac, then buy from someone else. Yes this might be a hassle, but you will save more time and money in the long run. read more

I order a lot of items online. I order from Amazon, Walmart, Target, Macy's, Sephora, and others. Whenever I see it's being delivered from OnTrac I know there is going to be a problem. I have cameras out front and on my door, so I know when someone is here. OnTrac has a habit of lying and marking packages as "delivered" when they can't meet delivery times. They pre scan them and deliver the next day usually. I'm guessing they do this so they don't lose business from these online retailers who promise 2 day shipping as one of their selling points. I would rather pay for shipping then have OnTrac handle any of my packages. They are the worst delivery service there is around here. Deceptive and dishonest. read more

OnTrac is the WORST delivery service we have ever experienced. They notified us our package had been delivered to our address at 11:11AM Monday morning July 30. We searched everywhere for 2 days without success and asked our management. Management said they have had lots of bad experience with OnTrac including the driver throwing packages out the window. Well, our neighbor showed up at our door last night and said she found our package along with 2 others in the flower beds near our entry. Needless to say we will never use OnTrac or buy any product online if OnTrac is delivering. read more

I ordered through Amazon who purchased through another vendor that contracts with Ontrac for delivery. I ordered two of the same things and each box had a separate tracking number. One product was delivered before the estimated delivery date and the second product they changed the delivery date 3 times 6/12/2021, 6/14/2021 and 6/15/2021. I called on 6/15/2021 to see if my package was on its way and was told they are not showing anything being delivered for that day and he would call the warehouse and someone will call me. I don't understand why the package didn't arrive when the first one was delivered. this just tells me the driver who delivered the fist package stole my second package and this is why they keep changing the delivery date. read more

Another bad review. No, I didn't choose the service and I will be logging a complaint with the online retailer that chose them for their free shipping of this delivery. Ordered a package to be delivered yesterday. Delivery failed, their tracking site did not indicate any reason, it went from "out for delivery" to "held at warehouse" . Did I receive a call? No. I called late last night, gave up when hold time went to 30 minutes. Checked this morning. No update and still no call. Stuck out the 15 minutes hold time this time to learn the driver couldn't find my street! No, I don't live in the middle of nowhere. Anyone that has used a smartphone or google has been able to find it with ease. How can a professional delivery driver fail to find a street AND not call!?!? Do they not have access to these basic tools? Given the box now has a printed map with my address taped to the side leads me to believe they do not. Needed the package today for Memorial Day weekend so _I_ had to do the delivery because they held it at the warehouse! To who ever reads this. I ordered 2 items from Best buy to be delivered to my residence. They were shipped by OnTrac. Not my choice of shipper for anything. Yes, I have had problems in the past. So, I came home about 715 in the evening and checked my email. I had received a email that stated my package was delivered behind my gate at the street on the property I am on. Since a notification that no one crossed the cate on my security system I was worried. So before going and checking for the package I reviewed the security system. At the time of what was a delivery I did see a van white in color pass my house. To note my driveway is 130 ish feet from the gates to the house and another 20 feet to the road. I did not see the white van stop. So, I said something is fishy. I videoed my walk to find the package. This was since I had problems in the past with OnTrac. I did not find the package behind the gate as stated. Behind my gate is two containers for packages. One had a lock that OnTrac has the code for and the other is for larger packages. Nothing was there. So, I walked the edge of the property and other areas video taping my little walk. No packages were to my knowledge at this time. I went back into the house and reviewed the security system. I could see just barely some thing come out of the vehicle. Now I could hear more. I could now know that the package was yetted from the moving vehicle at the street. But in me looking for the package it was not there when I looked for it. I estimate that the van was traveling 35 mph. 300 feet in 6 seconds on the video. OnTrac was closed at this time so I called Best Buy. They took the complaint but said it was after hours. I used OnTrac system for complaints. I received a email reply the next morning that the package was delivered behind the gate. They said they could do nothing and did not want video of the delivery. Now I have to fight for a package that was clearly thrown from a vehicle and not safely placed behind the gate in a supplied storage container out of view of people that may walk away with it. The value of this package was 500 dollars. I feel that OnTrac should not do this and that the driver should not be with them. read more

It is truly shocking that this company is allowed to continue to be in business. 90% of every delivery by On Trac is either lost, extremely late, mishandled or their tracking lies about the status. Over and over again tracking states "delivered" and it is no where to be found, only to show up mysteriously days later. We've seen personal vehicles being used for deliveries, drive by package drops with items tossed out of the car window with no attempt at a secure delivery, packages literally found on the side of the road by a neighbor who luckily for us found it and brought it to us, and to top it off packages are frequently "lost". I've complained to Amazon over and over but with orders fulfilled by outside sellers they say they have no control. That said, this delivery company's bad business practices must directly be indirectly affecting Amazon's reputation. I know it has with me. There must be a few good people working at On Trac but in my opinion, the majority of people there don't care about the job they do and the customer suffers with no way to keep them from being chosen by sellers when shipping packages. It's disgraceful. Either go out of business or do better, please. Your employees must be suffering as are your customers. read more

I am an Amazon Prime member and expect to get packages in 2 business days since I pay a lot of money to get that type of speed. With OnTrac I have never waited less than 4 days. They always update the item with Amazon as delivered on the second business day but in reality they never deliver until at least the fourth day. I started complaining to Amazon after the third time. One time I was walking my dog on the sidewalk next to our house and and my dog stopped to sniff at something. The delivery man handed me the package and sped off. He didn't even check my name or where I lived; he just handed me the darn package! For all he knew, I was just a passerby. Extremely unhappy with OnTrac and I have asked Amazon to not use them again. I told Amazon I would cancel my Prime membership if they continued to use OnTrac with my orders. read more

My house is a little hard to find and I've never had a problem getting a package. Our delivery people (especially Bill) are always friendly and helpful. It is unbelievable that any business uses this service to deliver their packages. They do not contact you in advance to let you know that a package is coming, so that you can provide delivery instructions. They do not let you establish an account to register your delivery instructions. UPS and FedEx both have that option. We live on a property with a gate, but there is no way for the delivery person to know what our gate code is. So they just throw the packages over the fence. Never mind if it says FRAGILE! I cannot register my displeasure enough with this company. I wish the large companies that use them for their deliveries would stop. read more
