The place is clean and well ventilated. There aren't any odors and the attention to detail is unmatched. I had a lavender pedicure and it lasted over an hour. It was incredibly relaxing and I left feeling so pleased with my time there. There's a drink station filled with coffee and other beverages. There's also an ATM machine there. I've been a regular client at Onyx Nail Bar for the past few months, consistently booking with TT. While I initially appreciated her work, my recent experiences have been very disappointing. Over the last few appointments, my gel manicures have chipped significantly in less than a week -- a clear indication of quality issues. Most recently, I returned today to have a nail repaired that chipped shortly after my appointment on April 12th. I had just returned from a birthday vacation and was surprised to be told I had to pay $15 to fix a single nail or opt for a brand new gel manicure. Given that this is the second time I've had to return for corrections within a week of service, I find this policy unreasonable. What's most upsetting is the lack of care or accountability from the manager when I explained the situation. While I liked TT, I value good customer service just as much as quality work. If a business is willing to lose a loyal, consistent customer over a simple repair, then I can no longer support it. I'm truly disappointed with how this was handled. read more

Mulan is amazing and has an incredible attention to detail. She files and shapes each nail meticulously comparing each nail to the other to make sure they are all the exact same length and even. I've been getting my nails done for decades and when I find a good person, I stick with them, but something called me to Onyx, as I was passing by on my way to my office. Overdue for a pedicure and gel manicure, I stopped in. Soooooooo grateful that I did. Linda, the owner, is super nice and Nina is extremely meticulous. I keep my nails very,very short, so painting can be challenging. Not for Nina. Perfectly done and so close to the cuticle. Defiantly going to last a long time. Lots of options for pedicures; hot stone, mud wraps, paraffin...... I added an extended 20 minute foot massage to my pedicure. New, new, new, new, new. Just opened Monday. Super clean and I predict that it will stay that way. They take your temperature and ask you to wash your hands prior to starting. Each person gets their own mini file, buffer, and pumice stone. They are disposed of after the one use. Disposable liners are used at the pedicure stations. These things have always been important but especially now. After my fingers were wrapped with acetone and foil (to remove the old gel polish), plastic gloves were placed on my hands. Such a nice touch. I'm pretty simple but they do have amazing designs as well. I did opt for silver chrome on two of my fingers. Has a mirror effect. Can actually see reflections. Lol. So happy to have found my new nail home. For anyone getting their nails done---you will be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't try Onyx Nail Bar. read more

I came here twice for gel manicures. The first manicure was really nice and the manicurist paid really nice attention to details as well as got done in a decent amount of time. The second time was pretty awful. After waiting over 45 minutes past my appointment time, I finally got called back to sit at the nail bar. At this point I was upset and annoyed, but they held my credit card info hostage on their reservation system, so I would be out money if I left. I had a different person do my nails, and they were sloppy, like I was doing them (which is the whole reason why I pay to get my nails done). She took a long time and when I asked her to please make the polish on my nail straightener l, she looked like I asked her to give me her first born. She didn't care how unhappy I was, and nothing was done in attempt to try to make me happy, even when I politely stated that it wasn't cool that I waited over 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment. It's disappointing that a nail salon so close to home and lots of really great restaurants is so disappointing. read more

Pros: very clean and Sophia (when she worked there) did an amazing job on my nails. Cons: usually a wait (even when you make an appointment) and quite overpriced. It was $48 for a dip, which is already above average for the area, and $5 PER nail fix/tip. I had to get three tips so the total was $63. That is an insane upcharge considering how cheap tips are in general. To top it off, two of the three tips that were glued on fell off in nine days. I genuinely wanted to make this my regular salon but being charged that much for three tips is kind of ridiculous. read more

Really enjoyed my experience. Was recommended here by many people, specifically for Linda. She did not disappoint. I let her freestyle on my nails and it came out so cute! This was the ombré dip with a design. In total it was about $60 and change, which is a bit expensive, but it lasted me 5 weeks with zero chips. My only issue was that it was a bit busy, and even with an appointment i had to wait a significant amount of time. But Linda apologized and was so sweet. Would definitely be back. read more

This was my first time visiting the salon based on a recommendation. I came in for a full dip set and gel pedicure. My manicure was great...it did take 2 hours. But they look great and were what I asked for. My pedicure was going well. Until I got cut pretty bad. I didnt make a stink about it. I know accidents happen... however the bleeding didn't subside. I asked my tech a couple of times if she could clean it up a little more before she applied the gel polish. I didn't want blood painted on top of before she applied the gel and cured it. I truthfully don't think that is an odd request. My tech cried after my last request and left in the middle of my pedicure. The manger came over and told me accidents happen and it has to heal. I was very disappointed in that response because I was bleeding and just wanted to have a completed pedicure. The owner tried to help fix it as I was checking it but she couldn't do much as she was with another client. I was offered 10% off and a $10 gift card for future service. After a few hours I realized another toe was very sore. I checked and noticed I was badly cut on another. I then messages and asked for a refund for my pedicure. I was first given the open of credit of the remaining balance to be noted to my account. To which I replied, I would prefer to be refunded to my card or venmo. I did receive funds right away. I am going on vacation...my one big toe has blood on the side that still can't be wiped off because it re-aggravates the cut. My other big toe is sore to touch. read more

Well. I just walked in as a new customer to get a manicure with gel. The girl stated the service would be $40, a bit pricey. We're supposed to support local businesses. I told her I wanted a design, a minimalist one. She said "not a problem" I insisted and asked her the price, $40 total. She did such an amazing job. So nice, polite and professional. I was so happy. Then, when the time to pay for it came, it was a shock. The said: " it's $80". What? Are you serious? You told me from the beginning the total amount. Such a scammer. It was disappointing, upsetting and annoying. Fortunately the owner was there. She said she could remove all the work and give me the other $40 back, which I agreed with. When I arrived, I instantly thought that the nail bar was super cute and had a calm vibe as the colors are black, white, and wood accents with a nice sprinkle of plants. I was asked to wash my hands upon arrival and they where able to start on me right away for my pedicure and gel manicure. All of the employees that I encountered were very professional and friendly. Worst manicure ever! I waited over 1/2 an hour for my mani pedi to be done. I ended up having both my hands and feet done at the same time in order for the staff to leave by 6pm. The gel manicure was so rushed that the color underneath the top coat did not cure enough and the color dragged, also the manicure itself looked rushed. Customer service following my complaint was non existent, no compensation offered infact no real apology at all. On the wall it says relax at Onxy nail bar, this was not a relaxing experience at all.
