Uneven acrylic

Came here for a full set and pedicure. Staff was friendly, pedicure could have been better. The full set is not great. I had her go back and try to fix a few things and they are still messed up. For the money, the result is not worth it.

The place is very clean, the ambience is very relaxing Linda is an excellent nail artist, very meticulous at her craft. I felt like I was at a high end spa! I'm very happy with my nails. Will keep coming for more :)

I've been getting my nails done for decades and when I find a good person, I stick with them, but something called me to Onyx, as I was passing by on my way to my office. Overdue for a pedicure and gel manicure, I stopped in. Soooooooo grateful that I did. Linda, the owner, is super nice and Nina is extremely meticulous. I keep my nails very, very short, so painting can be challenging. Not for Nina. Perfectly done and so close to the cuticle. Defiantly going to last a long time. Lots of options for pedicures; hot stone, mud wraps, paraffin...... I added an extended 20 minute foot massage to my pedicure. New, new, new, new, new. Just opened Monday. Super clean and I predict that it will stay that way. They take your temperature and ask you to wash your hands prior to starting. Each person gets their own mini file, buffer, and pumice stone. They are disposed of after the one use. Disposable liners are used at the pedicure stations. These things have always been important but especially now. After my fingers were wrapped with acetone and foil (to remove the old gel polish), plastic gloves were placed on my hands. Such a nice touch. I'm pretty simple but they do have amazing designs as well. I did opt for silver chrome on two of my fingers. Has a mirror effect. Can actually see reflections. Lol. So happy to have found my new nail home. For anyone getting their nails done---you will be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't try Onyx Nail Bar.

Really enjoyed my experience. Was recommended here by many people, specifically for Linda. She did not disappoint. I let her freestyle on my nails and it came out so cute! This was the ombré dip with a design. In total it was about $60 and change, which is a bit expensive, but it lasted me 5 weeks with zero chips. My only issue was that it was a bit busy, and even with an appointment i had to wait a significant amount of time. But Linda apologized and was so sweet. Would definitely be back.

This is my third visit to Onyx and it is by far the best nail salon I've been to. Linda the owner is incredibly talented and friendly and I would highly recommend a visit here! I've been to many nail salons in Canada and Germany but this one tops the list. It is clean, friendly and has a relaxing environment. Great attention to detail was given during my manicure and the result was beautiful!

Great experience! We were able to book 2 pedicures for the same day. The salon is super clean and has Covid precautions in place. Lin and Emily were fantastic. Both were detail oriented and gentle.

From the moment I entered, I felt so welcomed! The staff is super nice and they always make sure you're comfortable. I came in for a pedicure and a full set of coffin shaped nails. I left super impressed and can't wait for my next visit!

Today I had my first liquid gel manicure. I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted and Sophia helped steer me in the right direction. I let her design them how she wanted. She asked me if I like glitter and I said yes, and boy did she give me glitter, I love them! Sophia was funny and kept a good conversation without being too pushy or invasive. I will definitely be back again.

First visit to Onyx Nail Bar in Voorhees NJ today. I will DEFINITELY BE COMING BACK! Michelle was my technician and she was absolutely patient and professional. I am very picky, can't help it, and this salon is a perfect 10! From the moment I called, Rachel is so sweet and kind, they check temperatures at the door and I could tell they take cleanliness very seriously. This Nail salon is well worth every penny spent! And to to it off you get 20% off right now for the grand opening

Acrylic refill, coffin shaping.

I was in search of a new nail salon and am so glad I chose Onyx! My experience couldn't have been any better. Linda is extremely thorough and professional, and so sweet. I came with a photo and my nails came out even better than in the photo. I also had a pedicure which was great, as well. The salon itself is modern, spacious, clean, and so adorable. For anyone worried about health, I was directed to wash my hands as soon as I arrived, and next my temperature was taken. Everyone was properly wearing a mask and everything was properly sanitized. I have definitely found a new nail home!

I've been coming here to get my nails done since before the business moved to the Voorhees location, but this was the first time I had a horrible experience. It started out with the technician pulling on my hand and giggling and chatting to her coworker, who was staring at me...which is when I first started to feel uncomfortable because I did not know what they were discussing, and with pointed looks, I got the feeling they were giggling at me. During my service, another customer came in and requested my technician. My technician who was in the middle of my service huffed after being told she had to continue with my service before taking the new client who was a bigger ticket client. The new client ended up going with a different employee for her pedicure. After this, my technician seemed annoyed and her work was rushed and sloppy. I was not given the complementary hand massage. I was shocked when I had 2 shorter nails on my index and middle finger. I asked why they were shorter, and was told something like, "you are a lesbian, are you not?" I didn't know how to respond and just accepted the work. My nails were not the length I would have liked, she did them much shorter. Because of how short they were, they looked so chunky and unnatural. I was horrified at the result but am non confrontational, so I paid for my service and left. My nail beds actually hurt to the point I had to remove the set after a few days. I am very disappointed in this technician's behavior towards me and I am left questioning how they treat other lgbtq+ customers. I hope that this was a bad day for her and that she doesn't treat customers like this regularly. Unfortunately after the treatment from the technician and the low quality of my service I will no longer be patronizing this establishment.

I booked online for a full set acrylic pedicure at 4:30pm. When I arrived I was told you pick my…read morecolor. I asked if there were books for the acrylic since the books that were out were for gel. I was assured all the colors were good regardless of the method. When I finally got in the chair, the nail tech came over, specified what I wanted and then questioned me about why I wanted a full set acrylic. She said my toe beds were nice so why. I said that I was allergic to gel polish and I didn't like the way regular nail polish was on my toe nail. She proceeded to ask me why acrylic nail. Is it because I wanted longer nail or thicker. I replied the same about the allergy and the fact regular polish just doesn't do justice. She said okay and walked away. A few minutes later we had the same conversation. This time around she asked me what happens when gel polish is on. I informed her that I got serious burn blisters, itchy toes and then eventually peeling of skin and the way my toe nails look like they're separating from my bed. She tells me to try out the liquid gel as it is not the same as regular gel polish. As she is a LICENSED NAIL TECH, I assume she knows what she's talking about so I agree. She does the base with the liquid gel and then confirms the regular polish color I would like. A minute later she suggests I do the gel polish, as the liquid gel set the precedent. She tells me that if it bothers to come back............ she then rushed through the rest of my pedicure, even so much as not curing the polish properly. AFTER I specified I had an allergy to the polish, I would think every step would be adequately done. Fast forward to 4am and my toes are itching like crazy, I have a huge chemical burn blister, other small blisters are forming, and one of the toes peeled off. I had to pull off all of the rest of the nails because I cant soak off with blisters. As a nail tech, I get you have your ideals, however, when someone comes in knowing what they want, don't suggest differently. As an adult I realize I should have stood firm, but I thought something new came on the market and my nail tech knew what she was doing. Now I have a flare up from the gel and I have to go through itching, peeling and separating and it's flip flop and sandal season!

I've been coming here for 6 months and have never had an experience like this until Jenny did my…read morenails. She suggested soaking off a set that I absolutely loved--the shape, length, and overall look were perfect. I trusted her when she said a fresh set would look even better. Unfortunately, it was the complete opposite. After spending over an hour on my nails, they came out uneven, different lengths and shapes, with a sloppy design that looked unfinished. When I politely pointed out that they were visibly uneven, Jenny became defensive and rude instead of trying to make it right. After that, I felt uncomfortable speaking up again even though I still hated them. When I got home, I realized how bad they really were. The nails were so thick I could barely use my hands--it felt like all of my fingers were stuck inside marker caps. My friends and sisters were genuinely shocked when they saw them because they know I always keep my nails looking nice. To make matters worse, Jenny cut me badly enough to draw blood not once, but twice--once on each hand. My blood was literally getting on her tools and files while she worked. Now I get to spend my work shift sticking those cuts into lemons and cleaning products. I ended up returning to the salon because these nails completely ruined my day. When I came back, I specifically told them I was uncomfortable having Jenny touch my nails again. I wanted someone else to look at them and actually feel the work she had done. The technician who attempted to fix them seemed genuinely confused by how thick they were and couldn't understand why they had been built up so heavily in the first place. Apparently a drill was barely used, if at all, which explains a lot. Even after going back, they're still nowhere near acceptable for a $90 set. Now I'm stuck looking at them for weeks until they're ready to be soaked off again. Jenny asked me if I was new, but after this experience, I wish she was. The quality of work, customer service, and professionalism were all disappointing. Uneven nails, excessive thickness, sloppy design work, being cut until I bled, and then being treated rudely for speaking up is unacceptable. Jenny, if you're going to charge professional prices, produce professional work. Use the proper tools, take pride in what you're doing, and stop sending clients out the door with nails that look and feel unfinished. Do better.
