I don't know whether to give The Fitch Home a good rating, because The staff are excellent with the elderly! Always up and running is someone pulls for help or is screaming for help! The downside about the staff is some of them talk to much and sometimes will start sh!t with you. So how I got the job I was offered by someone who knew me since I was little. This person who wanted me to work for Fitch knows how much I wanted to be somewhere in the medical field along with struggling mentally and financially. Long story short I think I was really good at what I was. As time grew things like transfers became easier but there were times where I needed help and I think that is totally normal.. I wasn't fired but how they decided for me to leave there was really no explanation to it all, they said to me was "you need more training." And when some staff i worked with over the time of being there they noticed that I wasn't there anymore so they asked the head nurse where I was and the head nurse said "we let her go" and my co worker at the time said to her "i miss her" the head nurse said "I don't".. UNPROFESSIONAL.. They said in the future I could be re hired but I don't plan on coming back just because they didn't give me an explanation of why they wanted me to leave or "let go". And from the day I left Fitch home it's been very hard to find a job and have been struggling financially to the point where I live in a shed with no running water.

The light was broken and the aides knew this. My mom was there 2 weeks and no one fixed it. Some of the aides were helpful but most just sat around. My mom would wait half an hour after ringing the bell to use the bathroom. One person would not push her wheel chair to the bathroom. My mom could not do this herself. The food was good and they had a few nice activities. The TV was smaller than my laptop screen. My mom could not wait to get out of there.

While he initially came across as caring, I got the same vibe that I have gotten while car shopping: - "we have a low income program that would work well for your aunt, but I only have 1 bed left at that rate. You can sign up today with no obligation" - "if she can't afford the program, there are other assistance programs, such as PACE, that can make up the difference between the cost of our program and her SS income"......TAKES OUT HIS PHONE, STARTS CALCULATOR, ASKS ABOUT HER INCOME...says "she definitely qualifies for our low income program, VLIT. You can apply for PACE, but in the interim, she will have to arrange for private payment of the difference". - he gave us the phone number of the local PACE Administrator. When we called, we were told that Atria does not participate in PACE. So, what was Adam talking about ? Well, when I called to tell him that we were told that Atria didn't take PACE, he said "oh, I was just trying to help you find a place that does take PACE. I"m sorry if you misunderstood", yet both my fiancee and I came away with the exact understanding (that they could sign her aunt up for 'VLIT', and that whatever her SS income didn't cover would have to be "private pay" until she got on PACE"). While the facility itself was nice, the sales process was less than transparent or honest, in my opinion.

Things started going downhill on his 1st day there. The halls are empty - I always wondered where the nurses were. He was admitted at 2 pm and at 6:30 pm, his nurse had no information about him: the "supervisor" hadn't entered his info in their computer system. The only good nurse he had was Janet. His IV meds were often late and they took a long time to respond to his call light. My husband said some of the evening nurses would ask him "what are you here for?" Guess they don't review the patients' charts. The CNAs, however, were great! I would not send anyone here ever!!! Nursing care is almost nonexistent. This is a late entry as I thought I had already sent a review.

If you don't like them you have choice of tuna, egg salad or grilled cheese. The servings were not enough to feed a person. The food was awful! It was sub par. Not enough therphy to make you well. One walk up & down the hall is not enough. Government needs to inspect this place. After one week I transferred my husband to another facility called Health South in Woburn. I then received a bill from Golden Living for the chair car to transfer my husband to the other facility. I received a bill for his medications because they billed to out of network pharmacy. I believe it was done out of spite because I transferred him to a much better facility. A 5 star facility with excellent therapist, spotless rooms & great choice of delicious lunches & diners. I should have look at the ratings but it was close to home. Who knew. If you are reading this review do your loved one a favor and do not take them to Golden Living!!

The staff are unprofessional and give the impression that they could care less about the patients. They schedule appointments and then give incorrect information to other staff members that need to attend. There is not enough staff to cover patients that are there and they are very quick to remind you of that. Just one example, when someone needed to use the bathroom and the staff were told because the patient needed help, after 15 minutes the staff was reminded and still no one came. How long do they expect someone to wait? The staff tell you what they think you want to hear, but if you call them out on it, they become snippy. I would recommend that no one ever put a loved one in that type of environment. They should be shut down.
