wow i felt like i was in MAMA PAPPAS KITCHEN! wonderful cozy authentic greek restaurant. seems every greek restaurant all have similar authentic greek menu but each has totally unique taste . love AMBELIS in cranford but when we heard of new greek restaurant in Kenilworth we had to try and weren't disappointed. starting with the 3 appetizers unique and delicious the zuchini and eggplant chips were thinly and breaded served with skordilia potatoe dip then hot big juicy beans in tomato sauce, assorted dips with hot grilled pita triangles as you can see by my photos delicious falafel gyro, fresh grilled chicken cubes. giant chickrn fingers big roasted lemon potatoes, the meat trio opa special all tasty and served really fast .

Opa Grill was a good, family-friendly restaurant in Kenilworth. Tried it for the first time. Everything was fresh and flavorful. When we walked in, small restaurant, however you can feel the family love within the place. I think one of the owners was making homemade food at one of the tables. I loved seeing what's homemade is put into cooking. Service was great, all payments are accepted, parking is available outside and within walking distance to Opa Grill. Small and quaint for some good Greek food!

Food was excellent!! I was looking for some authentic Greek cuisine and this came pretty close. Ordered takeout and food was still hot when I got home. The spanakopita was a little chewy but what else can I say it had to travel. Cute little restaurant, service was fast and efficient.

Food was very tasty. They brought out complimentary pita with various dips & penne vodka with chicken. I don't eat meat so I did not taste the pasta but everyone said it was good. I really enjoyed the beet dip that came with the pita. Portion sizes were very large for everything and the prices are extremely reasonable. The staff was very friendly, the chef/owner (?) Brought a few of the dishes out himself and checked on use during the meal. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because the food came out at very different times. On one had I appreciate that they brought out the meals as they were ready so they would be fresh, however we had a party of 7 of some people were already almost done with their meals by the time the last person got theirs. Overall, the food was really good and I would definitely come back next time I am in the area.

What an absolute gem!! ALL their food is absolutely mind blowing- hands down the best Greek place I've ever been to. I went to the cash register and ordered for here: the eggplant dip, spanakopita for appetizers, a falafel gyro for my main entree and a milopita for dessert. Then we went to go sit at the table. Within a couple minutes, they brought a beet dip and pita which was so good! You can taste the beets, garlic, spice aftermath and paired beautifully with the freshly made pita. Shortly after we got the eggplant pita which had a wonderful cold contrast with textures like peppers, kalamata olives etc with the pita. The spanakopita were hands down insane!! It was so fresh, fried just right - not oily, beautiful crunch and crisp. For the main meal the falafel gyro came with the French fries. The gyro didn't have too much tzatziki sauce so it was a bit dry. The falafels were well made and flavorful. The French fries were lightly salted so the ketchup paired very nicely. For the dessert, we asked the waitress and she recommended the milopita if we wanted a warm lightly sweet dessert. So glad we got this on a cold day, it tasted like Christmas-time and fresh, flaky apple cinnamon cohesively meshed together. I am definitely coming back here, and after all this food it still didn't feel too heavy!!

Liani was a super nice server in this small Greek American restaurant located on the Boulevard in Kenilworth. Authentic Greek cuisine is served here. Grilled Pork Spare Ribs, Spanakopita and Baklava cheesecake hit the spot. All excellent. One small negative, a little less pita with the entrées.

Decided to check this place out for a lunch recently . I tried the lamb gyro to start with a side of lemon potatoes. The lamb gyro was pretty good! Lemon potatoes were ok. I would definitely come back and check it out again. There is an outside area to eat - good for this Covid pandemic Otherwise there is an inside dining area for whenever inside dining will be back in season again. Staff was nice and greeted me upon arrival.

I must say that this place was a pleasant surprise. It was my first time having greek food and I loved my souvlaki and greek fries. Very flavourful and tender. I will try something different next time.

Located in the heart of Cranford, this intimate yet homelike restaurant features a hospitable staff that takes the time to explain the menu, making the entire experience feel so warm and inviting. They offer a comprehensive menu ranging from lamb and chicken to shawarma, seafood , falafel, and so much more. Since they are a BYOB establishment, they will gladly open and serve your bottle for you without any hassle. For starters, we opted for the dip sampler, which includes pita and three distinct spreads. The Mouhammara is my personal favorite; it's crafted from red peppers with a pomegranate syrup that adds a hint of sweetness, while crushed walnuts provide an incredible texture. Next is the Baba Ghanouj, a roasted eggplant dip with garlic and tahini that creates a savory, slightly smoky, and velvety delight. Finally, it includes their classic homemade hummus, which is a classic and delicious choice. I love that you don't have to choose, you truly get the best of all three varieties. For our main course, we ordered the Old City Mix. It's a generous portion for two that typically comes with a garden salad and rice. I personally prefer the greens, so I swapped the rice for two garden salads tossed in a zesty minty vinaigrette. The platter features kafta, shish tawook, shish kebab, lamb chops, shawarma, and four falafels, all served on a bed of pita with tahini and garlic sauces as the finishing touch. Everything is remarkably fresh and seasoned perfectly. The falafel is crispy on the exterior and fluffy on the inside, the meats are grilled to your liking, and the salad perfectly balances the rich platter. I thoroughly enjoy this spot for both lunch and dinner and am even looking into their catering for my next party. Do yourself a favor and visit them soon!

Despite the moderately upscale ambiance and clean, contemporary aesthetic, the emptiness made us wonder: did we miss a memo? Was there a sudden local embargo on Mediterranean food? Luckily, the dining room eventually filled up, saving us from eating our dinner in a complete echo chamber. My dining companion and I started off with the Hummus appetizer ($11) served with a modest side of toasted pita. It was tasty and definitely hit the spot. We both decided to keep things light and ordered salads with a side of grilled salmon. I went with the Marouli salad ($16) -- crisp romaine lettuce, dill, and scallions with a lemon-olive oil dressing -- and my companion chose the Greek Village salad ($19), a shepherd-style salad with cucumbers, tomatoes, red onions, Holland peppers, feta cheese, olives, and Greek dressing. Both were fresh, well-prepared, and hit the mark. The salmon was also delicious, which is a good thing, because it came with an $18 upcharge that was not listed on the printed menu. For dessert, we ordered the baklava ($13), three pieces of an already intensely sweet treat that had apparently been subjected to an excessive dusting of powdered sugar. As for the service, our server and the food runners were competent but not overly friendly towards us or other diners. I also noticed that the staff tended to take care of tables out of order in which they were seated.. resulting in diners who arrived after us being served before us. Overall, it's a perfectly fine 3-star experience. I'd gladly go back if someone else was picking the spot, but if I'm the one in charge of dinner plans, I'll probably cast my net elsewhere in the area. PRO TIP #1: Bring a bottle of wine or beer from home or stop at the Wine Shop liquor store located on the opposite corner of the intersection of Main Street and Millburn Avenue for some adult beverages to enjoy with your meal. EVOO & Lemon is a BYOB establishment and does not serve alcohol. PRO TIP #2: EVOO & Lemon does not have a private parking lot, but there is plenty of on-street parking and municipal lots nearby. Use the mPay2Park app for the pay-by-plate meters ($0.50 per hour). Meters operate Monday through Saturday from 8am to 7pm; all street meters are free after 7 pm and all day Sunday. If the street is full, the Essex Street parking deck (24 Lackawanna Place) is a reliable backup.

At hummus republic I got the bowl with rice as my base and my protein I got the lemon chicken and the falafel. Then I selected my toppings, hummus/spreads, and dressings.
