I come here all the time as my go-to cava place and had such a pleasant experience. The food is great as always, workers are also so so kind. Special shoutout to Yami, she saw me cleaning my table and was attentive enough to clean it and continuously did it throughout the establishment. She came up and gave me a "snack on us" which was totally unexpected. Thanks so much for the great service, good food, and overall nice experience. All the love to Yami and their team! I order from this CAVA location at least three times a week, and I almost always get the exact same Greens + Grains Bowl. Every single order includes the note, "Extra garlic dressing, please don't forget." Unfortunately, this is now the second time they've forgotten it. Some people might think it's "just dressing," but it's what makes the bowl for me. Without it, it's just a dry bowl of grains and greens that I literally can't eat. This time I paid over $29 for my meal, took a few bites, and ended up throwing the entire thing away because it was inedible. To make matters worse, I tried calling the restaurant several times, but every call resulted in a busy signal. There was no way to reach anyone to fix the problem. Uber Eats refunded me $2 for the missing dressing, which completely missed the point. The issue wasn't the value of the dressing--it was that the entire meal was ruined. What frustrates me the most is that this keeps happening despite me leaving the same note on every order. There are multiple opportunities for someone to catch a mistake like this while preparing and packing the order, yet it still made it out the door incomplete. I genuinely like CAVA, which is why I order so often, but after spending nearly $30 on a meal I had to throw away, it's hard to justify continuing to order from this location. Cava has become a weekly regular in my lunch rotation since working in this area. The food is consistently good and although the place is small and always packed, the people are always friendly and helpful and trying to be efficient. Parking is truly terrible but what can you do? I'm not paying these delivery fees. My only complaint about cava is their specials change too much. Just when I find the perfect bowl, it disappears off the menu. Love CAVA so much, but this is the third time I've received way less feta dip than a normal scoop, and the second time I've paid for dressing and received none. Last time, I had to ask and was told they ran out, but no one let me know or offered an alternative. Today I picked up my order, got back to work, and again no dressing. I'm honestly not sure how this location has so many great reviews because I seem to have an issue every single time I visit. After more than a dozen visits, I feel like I have to say something. The rice here is nothing like other Cava locations. It's more like plain white rice, lots of clumps and completely lacks flavor. The lentils are always super dry and when I asked if a fresh batch was coming, I was told it takes hours to cook and that was the reason why it looked so dry. The meat options are frequently out of stock, this last time it was the lamb and the steak that was available looked dry and old. On top of that, the staff always seem to be whispering to each other and come off as unfriendly. I really hate having to drive farther just to get Cava, but this location is consistently disappointing. Please fix it! read more

Can I tell you that I was ecstatic when I found out that Cava was going to be 5 minutes away from me. The other one I went to was all the way in Jersey City and the parking stinks over there. But this Cava is conveniently on route 22 connected to a large parking lot and side street parking. Yes the line was long but I'd be suspicious if it wasn't... it's Cava! The restaurant is bright, energetic and overall pretty clean despite the many people in the store and a few tables that didn't get wiped down... When it was my time to order I just went with the saffron rice bowl with the spicy chicken and allllll the fixings! Everything was so fresh and perfectly seasoned... I am afraid for my wallet! I will probably be here just about every week... in fact it will be an incentive for me to go to the LA fitness around the corner! The staff was friendly and helpful! This was a cool, chipotle style serving restaurant with a couple of options such as lamb, rice & pita bread, which was really, really good and I really enjoy. The only thing is that I wish that the servers would pay attention to what the customers are asking for because I had ordered a lamb and avocado, and they had forgotten my avocado while they were I'm making my plate all in all the the restaurant was huge inside, planning upseding areas.The bathroom was clean and there's plenty of parking in the front read more

You can never go wrong with some Cava. Love the Grains Bowl from there, so many different options and very flavourful. Great portion size and fresh ingredients. Always must add the Classic Pita Chips! Great ambiance and service can't complain, just be mindful during lunch and dinner rushes. read more

I wish I could rate this location a zero (0). I visited the Cava in Union, NJ today and I had an unacceptable experience. Worst service I have ever received in my life. One of my biggest pet peeves is people talking over my food, and that is exactly what happened. While my bowl was being assembled, I added a few items that came with an upcharge. The employee making my bowl informed me of the extra cost, which I understood completely--I've been to Cava many times and know how it works. However, as she repeatedly explained the upcharge, she was talking directly over my food and visibly spitting while speaking, which made me extremely uncomfortable. When I tried to reassure her that I understood and that it wasn't necessary to keep repeating it, her coworker jumped in saying it was "company policy" to ask. I told them that was fine and that I would pay whatever the cost was, but asked that they stop repeating it. Instead of de-escalating, both employees began laughing and smirking, which felt very unprofessional. I calmly explained that I don't like people talking over my food. Their response was sarcastic and dismissive, which eventually led to me raising my voice out of frustration. When it came time to add dressing, the employee intentionally drowned my bowl in dressing to the point where it was completely soggy and inedible--it honestly felt like retaliation. I asked if they would eat something prepared that way, and only then did the manager step in. Thankfully, the manager handled the situation professionally and remade my bowl, which I truly appreciated. I own a franchise myself, and proper food service practices and basic respect for customers are non-negotiable. Talking over food, laughing at customers, and acting spitefully has no place in a restaurant. The manager handled the situation appropriately, but the behavior of the front-line staff was unacceptable and needs to be addressed. read more

First of all! This was my first time ever trying cava. I had no clue what to expect. I've only ever heard it's the Mediterranean chipotle and I've been wanting to try it for a while. So I went inside and ordered a bowl. Mixed greens base with half brown rice and half black lentils. Half braided lamb and half chicken, tomato's and cucumber, corn, fried broccoli, and tzitziki sauce. Let me also note, I was looking at the food before I ordered and the gentleman behind the counter asked what I'd like and I told him it was my first time. So he so kindly asked me if k had questions. So I asked how the black lentils told tastes? And he actually asked me if I wanted to try them, then gave me a small sauce cup of lentils to taste. Way to sell me on the lentils! The braised lamb tasted soo tender and perfect! I also tasted a little like curry but i can't really pinpoint the seasonings used. The cashier and all the staff was all pleasant and kind! This was such a happy cozy space. I appreciate that! My drink I mixed the half cucumber, lime and mint along with the apple, pineapple and mint. I LOVE FRESH pressed juices! I drink them everyday. These two combined were delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed this food and will be back to try more of the menu. read more

I absolutely love Cava being apart of my rotation! The food is amazing. My issue is the Union, NJ location lacks consistency. Every time I go there, they're always out of certain food options around 6p. Management can definitely do better with inventory. Also the service could be better. Some of the employees give off an unfriendly vibe. Overall this location needs improvement. read more

The location is way too small for the amount of business they get. The parking sucks because of the amount of business they get and they will run out of greens, protein and sauces too soon.
