I stopped by Tawbi Coffee in Oklahoma City on a Thursday morning around 9:30. I was surprised to see that it was still fairly busy, with plenty of tables already filled. From the conversations happening around me, it seemed like a lot of people were there for business meetings or work-related discussions, so it definitely feels like the kind of coffee shop where people come for business or to catch up with friends. The drink menu is pretty extensive, with hot and cold options including coffees and teas. The food selection is more limited, but they had huge scones, hand pies, and energy balls. I ordered the lemon ginger latte and a pack of three energy balls. The latte was really good: sweetened just right, served at the perfect temperature, and not overpowering. The energy balls were filling and had the right amount of chocolate chips and coconut shreds. The biggest downside was the wait time. It felt like I waited around 15 to 20 minutes for my latte, and when it was finally ready, they asked if I had received my energy balls yet. I had not, so they gave them to me then. That was a little frustrating because I had just come from the airport, was hungry, and had not had breakfast or coffee yet. Another issue was that the bathrooms had low water pressure while I was there, so I could not properly wash my hands or use the restroom, which was inconvenient. Overall, the coffee and snacks were very good, but the slow service and bathroom issue took away from the experience. read more

Im from out of town and a bit if a coffee snob and so made my way to this little shop. Had their light roast coffee which was very delicious and excellently made. But i was most impressed with their service. The gentleman at the counter was super knowledgable about their selection, their pour over processes, and helpful. The selection of music in the place is calming jazz which i absolutely loved. You could come here and hear yourself think or talk. It was clean and well laid out. Only issue was it was "cozy." Not a knock on overall rating, but definitely not a place to curl up and read a book which is what i like. But it is great for getting some work done or having a meeting. read more

I first tried Tawbi Coffee when I was invited there for a business meeting, and I am so glad I finally stopped in. I have passed by many times without going in, but now I wish I had tried it sooner. I asked for a recommendation, and the honey latte was suggested. It was absolutely delicious and easily one of the best lattes I have had. I was hooked after the first sip. I love that their coffee is organic and taste fresh, and I really appreciate that their syrup are made in house..Tawbi was a great meeting spot and a place I would happily return to. The positive: The cashier was very friendly and asked a lot of questions to make sure I was ordering exactly what I wanted. I had their matcha latte with vanilla which was pretty good. The seats at the bar felt very comfortable for the time that I was there. The not as positive: It smelled a little strange in there not sure what it was but it was definitely not coffee and it was very unpleasant. They have two different wifi options but neither of them were working so I had to go somewhere else to work on stuff. read more

An excellent addition to OKC's coffee scene. In a pretty standard strip area that doesn't seem like it would house premier beans and espresso, but it really, REALLY does. The cortado and French press were both exceptional and easily in competition with the high rollers downtown. read more

There are like... five coffee shops I now cycle through on the regular: (1) Coffee Slingers (in Automobile Alley) - One of the best, most consistent espressos in the city. (2) Sincerely Coffee Roasters (in Midtown) - Kinda expensive, but some of the most thoughtful specialty/flavored drinks in town. (3) Provision Coffee & Bakery (in Warr Acres) - Probably the only decent coffee shop in the caffeine-barren wasteland that is NW OKC. (4) Woodshed Coffee & Tea (in The Village) - Because of their Matcha Oat Milk Cold Brew, which is ::barista's kiss:: Now Tawbi Coffee (interesting name; apparently a portmanteau of the two owners' names) joins the list, but I might go so far as to say that it's the best-of-the-bunch. Because, they have: (a) Bold and smooth espressos. I've had some of the best lattes in OKC here in recent months. And the beautiful consistency despite the fact that they're using manual espresso makers (which is like choosing the hardest difficulty on a video game, just to test yourself). (b) One of the most delightful flavored lattes (the Vanilla Bean Latte). The Honey Latte is also good, but not as good as the Vanilla Bean. (c) Surprisingly reasonable prices. So many other coffee shops and restaurants are using this "inflation" bullsh*t as an excuse to price-gouge their customers. There's no shortage of decent coffee shops in town, but there are several places that I've stopped frequenting in recent months (cough cough Elemental, Willow, Culture), because GTFOH if it's like $6-7+ now for a small drink. I thought the placement of Tawbi was kinda weird, because it's right across the street from Woodshed (another favorite of mine). But Tawbi is strictly coffee, while Woodshed will continue to be my Matcha Oat Milk Cold Brew purveyor of choice. So mebbe this can be like a Walgreens/CVS sorta situation where both hopefully find success? They're like divorced parents that I now split my time between, but I love them both. Although Tawbi is kinda my preferred parent at the moment (the Vanilla Bean Latte is like being gifted a PS5 for Christmas as a bid for my affection). read more

I love that he answered all of my questioned to be able to make the best decision about the cup of joe I was going to have. The only thing I would change about this place is a pastry option. Delicious reasonably priced coffee in a spacious and relaxed location. Iced oat milk honey latte was smooth and slightly sweet. The organic coffee beans shined in this beverage with a bold, smooth and slightly acidic flavor that was complemented by the sweetness of the honey. Bonus points: the caffeine hits strong. They do not go light on the espresso here. I'm assuming this was a tightly compacted press because I could feel the caffeine coursing through my veins after drinking my latte. Prices didn't make me cringe. Very reasonable especially compared to national chains and other shops in the area. Menu simple. Something for everyone but not everything for everyone. Staff friendly and courteous. They made sure to ask my milk preference which I appreciate because I definitely have a preference. Music the right volume and vibes- i need the Playlist asap! Plenty of seating that was spaced out well. There were 3 people on the phone and I was still able to enjoy my time sitting and pondering in this coffee shop. Partially because the other patrons were courteous but also because the music was the perfect volume to be heard but not overpowering. Also the seating is spaced well. Excellent coffee with friendly staff and a good atmosphere. After having a coffee from Clarity Coffee, I was disappointed and did not have much expectation for the OKC coffee scene. But I would say this coffee shop is comparable to high-end coffee shops you would find in major cities. The hot latte I ordered was foamed silky smooth with a nutty fragrance. It was not as acidic as I usually prefer but still was blown away by such a pleasant aroma. It resembled more of Italian coffee to me. The only downside is the lack of sweets and the absence of savory items. But who cares, when the coffee is this good? I would be returning for more coffee. What a blessing to the local community to have such an awesome coffee shop. read more

A new coffee gem located here in OKC! They have a parking lot out front with plenty of parking spaces and other neighboring stores. There is dining available inside and outside. Spacious location! I ordered an Iced Vanilla Bean latte! They have two size options, either 2 or 4 shots. Everything here is organic, they roast their own beans, and use real vanilla bean-- WOW. As a Californian, this space reminded me so much of home. I loved that the latte had the perfect balance of coffee and sweetness, neither one overpowering one or the other. They also use a lever espresso machine! The last time I've seen one of those was in Europe, and they curate the best espresso. I met the owner, Tim. Such a pleasant man! Tawbi Coffee has a very relaxing vibe - great coffee smells, comforting but industrial design features, and calming music. It was pretty crowded but not loud. I loved seeing that people were working and meeting here, it felt like a community. Service was leisurely - not slow, but they're not rushing the process and don't have a ton of staff. I didn't mind waiting a bit longer though. I thought the menu had a great range of drink options. I forgot to ask about milk options, so I can't speak to that. Tawbi Coffee has become my go-to coffee shop whenever I want good coffee. It's at that perfect distance where it's too far away to go frequently, but close enough that I'd be okay with the occasional trip there. My current go-to drinks are the honey latte and the vanilla bean latte. Both are pleasantly sweet without ever veering into dessert territory. Not only that, but the espresso has never been harsh or unpalatable. It's been a smooth, enjoyable cup every single time. The people who work here are great too. They're always friendly and seem to genuinely enjoy what they do, which is probably why the drinks taste as good as they do. One thing I really appreciate is that if you buy a bag of coffee, they'll throw in a free drink. This is the only coffee shop where I've seen them do that, so I really appreciate it. The atmosphere and physical space are well curated -- relaxed, work friendly, very much that brick and leather aesthetic. There were several tables and seating options, and the baristas were helpful and friendly. The only downsides were that my drink could've been hotter when it came out and that the shop closes at 3pm! Tawbi is great because they're far away enough from me that I'll only want to stop by when I'm feeling extra lazy about making coffee at home. It also helps that their lattes are delicious and affordable. I've tried only two of their lattes now - the vanilla bean and honey - and I keep coming back for more because they nail the sweetness and espresso shot beautifully every time. Service is generally friendly, though there are moments where they seem preoccupied with, you know, a line of people waiting for their order so not always bubbly happy to hear about your day and what you've got plannedfortodaycomeonorderalreadyjackie!!!! I wish they had a wider selection pastries or sweets outside of their...oatmeal ball things they sell. We love Tawbi Coffee! Northwest Oklahoma City does not have much of a independent coffee scene other than maybe one or two shops. I was very pleasantly surprised to find Tawbi Coffee within walking distance of my office. Owner Tim takes great care and pride in his coffee. The menu adheres to one of the best principles in food service, do one thing and do it really well. Tawbi coffee is by far one of my favorite coffee places in Oklahoma and dare I say California and New York. Tawbi's Corner stone is its Organic roasted coffee. My favorites are the honey latte and the vanilla bean latte. The honey latte is the perfect balance of bright honey flavor with an undertone of Floor on this and Amber. The Vanilla bean latte is creamy and light. In both of these lattes the coffee is the star and the honey or vanilla bean merely amplifies the coffee's flavor. For the non-coffee drinkers there is an amazing hot chocolate and tea options. The ambience is clean industrial. Concrete floors and twinkling lights above. The inside is calm and filled with the aroma of roasting beans. The music levels are not too loud. It's the perfect place just to hang out for a bit and hide from the rush of the day. Tim puts a lot of care into this place. You can tell that he really loves what he does and create some of the best coffee. If you're on the northside please stop by Tawbi coffee Located around Northwest Expressway and Council. It's tucked in behind the Walgreens and 7-Eleven.
