I purchased a certified used car, (my First mistake) from Open Road Chevy in Union on US rt 22. The warranty was for approximately 15,000 miles. I got the car in November. This is a GMC Terrain. The radio stopped working about a month ago. I had them look at it during a service on the transmission. They said to check the radio it would take about 2 days. I could not leave it at that time, I did, however leave it on July 14th 2022 at about 2:30 pm. I got the call that the radio would cost me $1400 to repair. The service agent (Jason) told me before that the radio warranty is only 3 years or 36, 000 miles. Why would the radio warranty be different from the car? Do they know there are always problems? They have no loaner cars, (COVID I'm sure) Service department needs to be looked at on how they do business, just try to call them. This Terrain only has 53,000 miles on it, when I was growing up GMC meant something. What happen? This may be why people are buying imports. American made is not what it used to be, sad. I would never buy another car from Open Road, I may even go back to VW. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Went to look at a truck that we saw online on their inventory list. Was listed right on the website for a specific price. We get to the dealership, test drive the truck and decide we want to buy it. When they came back with the sale price, it was $5,000 more than what was listed online. We asked why? They stated they are are charging a premium charge on all of their vehicles right now! I went on the 29th of November 2022 to inquire about an oil change on my car I got in August I was told by one of the reps that the first oil change would be free. Today I went for the oil change at 7:30am for the oil change left my car and returned to pick it up I was told my payment is $86 after I disagree with such payment with the service rep I was told to wait till the dealer open at 9am to resolve the issue then to add fuel to the fire in order for me to get a free oil change I was told to do a review online and one hand washes the other outrageous they are build on all lies. read more

My son purchased a Camero last year and we were pleased with the salesman. Unfortunately, my son had a accident in December and his car was totaled. Our insurance and Gap made their settlement payments. We are still waiting for Open Road since we had purchased a service contract at the time of purchase and we told a claim would have to filed by the dealership. It was suppose to have been filed in January and we were told it would take 6 to 8 weeks for it to be settled and pay GM. It is April and nothing to date. We have called Chevy and either we get no answer or leave a message for a finance rep to call us and no one has called. This place sucks. I got my brake pads in the rear fixed including new rotors a few weeks back. Paid a hefty price, no biggie I really needed them done. After I get my truck back, I hear squeaking from the back. Thought that to be a common new pad/new rotor break in routine... I bring it back to the dealer to just check to see exactly what the issue could be, ya know for my own safety. Guy tells me I need new front brake pads and rotors -_- I ask why wasn't that done when I was literally just here a few weeks ago for NEW BRAKES AND ROTORS!? "I honestly don't know what to tell you about that" he says. Long story short don't waste your time here. You'll get one thing "fixed" to have a new problem shortly afterwards. I don't like to go by anyone else's experience but every time I walked in that dealership I would hear a customer complaining. Maybe that was a sign. If I could give them 0 stars I would. This is my second bad experience with the service department here ais still HORRENDOUS. I came in for a check engine light that came on & ended up getting some recommended services done, $440 later. I got my car in worse condition then it went in. Been sitting here for about 40 minutes for an issue that arose after the services were performed & noticed 2 unhappy customers come & go extremely frustrated with their service experience. I understand customers can be unreasonable sometimes, but the odds of 3 bad experiences (including myself) in less than an hour!? I would stay AWAY from sales & service at Open Road. The first unhappy customer was granted 2 free oil changes. I overheard the customer stating that he will be traveling a long distance with his car and needed to get his first free oil change. The service department denied his first free oil change because his vehicle was at 30% oil life & they would only do it once it was at 20%. The second customer I observed spent $534 on service to her vehicle. She had a coupon code that had expired 2 days ago & they would not honor it. 10% coupon couldn't be honored for a customer that just spent over $500 on service!? STAY AWAY! read more

They gave me a decent price, but car had an open recall. They said they couldn't fix it, but pressured me to buy a 3 yr extended warranty. Why would I buy an extended warranty from a dealer who can't figure out how to handle a software recall? Got in the car to drive off lot: 2 low tires and an empty tank. Tacky. A total pleasure in dealing with Open Road Chevy!!! We just bought a 2016 Chevy Suburban there today! We met with Brand Specialist "Joe" Faraji. He was friendly and very knowledgeable about the Chevy Suburban. He took us on a test drive going through the SUV's options quite thoroughly. He answered all our questions - we had a lot of them. Joe especially took care to address our questions around financing as there were several options and recent updates in the end of year promotions such as no-cost financing and several thousands off the White LTZ model that was in their showroom. We also met with GM Wes Mancias who worked on the trade-in and gave us several options for our current vehicle. Ask for Joe Faraji or Wes. Both real pros. Through the process we even met with one of the owners of the dealership who was on site too! Can't beat that. The whole process, from walking in to walking out with a new a brand new Chevy Suburban and trading our old truck in was less than two hours. Just over the top customer service! read more

Everything here is immaculate from the entrance to the restroom. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They have 3 vending machines in the service waiting area as well as free coffee, croissants, cookies, bagels, & muffins. The seats are comfortable and well kept with swiveling tables if you need to get work done. Outlets are also easily accessible, even though I forgot my charger at home. They let you know of any additional work/recalls your vehicle may need and offer flexible scheduling for appointments which you can also make online (super convenient & they call to confirm days in advance in case you may need to reschedule). I had a terrible experience with two cars being serviced at Open Road Chevrolet. When I picked up the first car it smelled like cigarette smoke inside the car. When I picked up the second car, I did not think the accessory that I paid for was fully installed. After pointing this out to the service advisor, they attempted to fully install the accessory. However, I took it home and realized it was installed incorrectly. I called the service department and I felt the service manager was very rude to me. After bringing my car back to the service department to have the accessory looked at, I still did not feel like it was safely installed. I also was not given all the parts the go with the accessory on my first visit and had to ask for them when I brought the car in again. It was a very frustrating experience and I do not want to ever go to Open Road Chevrolet for car service again. read more

As stated previously, I had immediate issues after purchasing a vehicle. I've since had to replace the engine due to manufacture defect with this model vehicle (no mention of this when purchasing) and I have another quote for $3,000k for additional repairs. I've put 18000 miles on this car. Purchased it at 40,000 miles. I drive carefully and change the oil on time, every time. This dealership and any associates are criminal. Called one Friday morning asking to see a Jeep. They told me it was still in stock. Drive TWO HOURS same night to purchase. Cash in hand. They spent 45 minutes locating the car and couldn't confirm if it was sold or not. After that the test drive was even worse. My salesman could not answer a single question about specs, and when I pressed a button to see if it worked, it literally fell out of place and onto the floor. A clunker. As I tried to leave, I assured it was nothing against them, just not interested and wanted to do more research before test driving anything else. I even agreed to make the drive back up in order to do business with them. Well the sales manager came out, began asking if I "knew how to drive" and maybe "it was me not the car". I was a Multi Chevrolet customer and went to Open Road after they bought out Multi.  The last time I went for an oil change I suspected they didn't actually change the oil, but had no real proof. So this time I marked the oil filter, after the job was done my old filter was still on the car. After I complained they did give me my money back and offered to do the job for free while I watched, but by this time I didn't want them touching my car and left. I been customer for yrs to Multi Chevrolet but now it's Open Road, I brought my 2011 Traverse in for a Oil Change & Actuator a part I purchase from Multi Chevy in 2016 but didn't have work done until January 10, 2017, I drop my truck off the night before but when I spoke to my service advisor when making my appointment I explain to her that I have other problems but not sure what the problems are, she ok, she called me the on the Jan. 10, 2017 telling me what the cost will be it was almost $300. but we can't give you no warranty on the part (actuator) I said really, I ask can you do a diagnostic test while its there, I express I will be traveling out of town and need to know my truck is ok, she said NO you to have reschedule, ok I received no call not even a courtesy call and they kept my truck for several days until I called, my service advisor Cathy, she was rude , I made another appointment for Jan.30,2017 and again I drop my truck off the night before, fill out form that you drop in the drop box with your vehicle key ok, this is what I wrote & I told her on the phone,1. do a diagnostic test, the cost will be $149. that will be deducted if they do the work,ok 2.I wrote my temp gage jumps all the way up to 1 line below the red line 3. when my truck is off I guess it's my fan but its still be running while my truck is turned off for about 30sec before it shut off. I get a call the next day from my advisor telling me I need a WATER PUMP, I said WHAT!! I ask her did you do a diagnostic test, she yes and this is what our mechanic said, my advisor explain to me that is what causing my temp. gage jump like that, ok how much without tax $609. I ask her did you deduct the cost of the diagnostic test, advisor said yes, ok I said do the work, since that time no one contacted me until I called that Thursday Feb.2,2017 my advisor said your truck is ready, I ask can I get a copy of the diagnostic test my advisor said no we don't give them out, I said to her you're kiddin no she wasn't ok, pick up my truck that night drove up Rt.22 west to BJ'S came back down on the east side and had to stop at Famous Dave to allow my truck to cool off before i can continue to drive, it was doing the exact the same thing, now I'm totally upset, so the following day Feb.3, 2017 I took my truck to Pep Boys on Rt.22 West didn't tell them anything paid another $109. had a diagnostic test done and was given a copy and was told what I needed. I call Open Road the same day and I didn't want to speak with my advisor I spoke with the Service Director Steve Hodossy we went back and forth he refuse to give me my $651. with tax back, for a job that was done that wasn't needed (Water Pump) I told him what I did and Pep Boys gave me a copy of my diagnostic test he try to down play Pep Boys, I inform him I will be contacting Consumer Affairs, BBB & the News as a consumer I just been robbed ,Service Director Steve said to me well BBB will tell you, you would have to give me a change to correct the problem I said you're right .ok , so I took my truck back to Open Road on Feb.3,2017 and didn't received not one call from Open Road until Feb.10, 2017 after I called GM Corp Office and the call I received was just to inform me my truck is ready but it can't be release to until the service director Steve come in , I said ok, well Feb 11, 2017 my service advisor Cathy call that morning to inform me that my truck is ready,I ask what was done she said they replace thermostat, flushed and refill coolant system, I was told usually tubes that run from water pump to the thermostat should be changed because that is rubber and cause my truck have been running hot can thin out rubber tubes, as of right now I'm truly afraid to drive my truck at a distance . all this work could have been done on Jan.10, 2017, well I ask my advisor how much this time she NO CHARGE. "Buy a Honda" they said. "Hondas are great cars" they said. Maybe if I hadn't bought from this place, I'd echo those sentiments. Bought a pre-owned 2008 Honda from here less than 4 months ago and have had numerous issues. I've had to replace both front and rear brakes (less than 2 months after purchasing) as well as the starter on a car that has less than 50,000 miles on it. Sure, maybe we can point to the vehicle's original owner for "wear and tear" issues, but common things that should've been taken care of when servicing the vehicle before I was able to drive it home seem like they weren't taken care of properly (or at all). I wasn't even going to mention the terrible service and the way I was left waiting for almost 4 hours the night I went to pick it up and just sign the papers, but once I had to take it in because the AC wasn't blowing very cold, and found that it was wasn't because it was low on freon, but rather because the air filter had NEVER been changed, I felt the need to speak out. My mechanic was appalled at the state of the air filter (see photo). It literally looks like someone took hands full of dirt, mulch, and pine needles, and shoved it into the crevices of the filter. Open Road claims to care about their customer service, but overlooking something like this says otherwise. Side note: my car is garage kept. I'd love to hear any explanation for such blatant negligence in servicing a vehicle. read more

My experience was awesome! Especially considering this was my first visit. I came to service my vehicle for 2 recalls on my Chevy Impala. My only mishap was when my car took longer than expected and I wasn't contacted that my car would be kept overnight. As a result I had to take off work at the last minute. I also had to reach out the next day to find out when it would be done. Communication was my only issue. Besides that it was a warm and friendly experience from all staff I encountered. But the Sales/Financial department is where the horrible review comes into play. After finalizing numbers we were congratulated on our purchase and a down payment was taken. Our down payment was taken BEFORE THE BANK APPROVED THE FINANCE. After 30 minutes of waiting for an answer and multiple credit checks ran, we were constantly denied. They assured us that another bank would most likely approve the finance. Mind you, it had NOTHING to do with our credit but simply because the dealer was asking too much for a 2013 Jeep Wrangler. I found this out after speaking to our credit union that denied us and another Jeep dealer. They wanted to charge us more for a 2013 Wrangler than A BRAND NEW 2019 CHEROKEE. After leaving the dealer with NO VEHICLE we were told to give it one more day on the approval from the last bank. Next day rolls around and i hear nothing after calling the dealer twice. We decided to cancel the deal and asked for our money to be refunded. I was told by Jaime that our money would be returned by Tuesday the latest. After waking up on Tuesday with no money in our account returned, you can only imagine how frustrated we became. After my husband and i called the dealer separately, we both received different answers. We are now being told that it will be issued on Friday, A WEEK LATER. This dealerships negligence is holding us up from purchasing another vehicle. NEVER have i ever put a down payment on a vehicle before the deal was finalized. The service area SUCKS. They treat their customers like shit. I called a week before to schedule my service appointment and I asked them if I can have a loaner for the time being until they were finished with my car. They told me that they only give out loaners for serious situations ( Which is pretty stupid to me) So, the day OF my service appointment.. the lady asked me if I was just dropping my car off and I told her that I would wait for it, but then she scrunched up her face saying that it can take all day. I asked if they had any loaners for me to take but she said that they were all booked and if I'd rather reschedule my service appointment for a day that a loaner is available. Obviously, people who were also getting their car serviced.. took the loaners. They must not have a lot of loaners on their lot which I found ridiculous but whatever. Mind you, I planned my appointment a whole week ahead so, I should've been able to get a loaner. Learn how to treat your guest better, Chevy! Came in for oil change and tire rotation from an online special. They told me it had to be printed out even though I showed them a pic on my phone! After fighting with 3 advisors to honor the coupon they did begrudgingly only to tell me I would have to pay for additional oil that was not included. So disappointed that the parts department of this dealership have forgotten how to treat customers. My business has been ordering parts from them for over 5 years and the day we had to return a part, we get an angry phone call from the "Parts Manager" Chris questioning why we returned the part. I explained to Chris that we already had the part we needed and our secretary mistakenly ordered another. Chris proceeded to say that we should not waste their time by ordering parts in other places just to return theirs. He threaten me saying the other part we had also ordered for delivery now had to be picked up because "we are playing games." I explained to Chris that when I originally ordered the second part, I was guaranteed to have it delivered. I asked to speak to Chris' manager and he simply said, "sure, no problem" and came back on the phone and said I'm the manager. What do you want." I was shocked and appalled. Chevrolet prides themselves on being a company that cares, because caring matters. How would they feel knowing that the people they put in charge of running departments are talking to consumers in such a way? I had received great service before, but this incident has really left a bad impression on me. I buy a lot of parts from them but have noticed that all of their parts prices have been JACKED UP!!!! sky high. They jack up all the parts prices and then discount them and which you still pay more then retail prices.
