My friend introduced us to this place in 2024. I've been addicted ever since and always stop by when I'm in Long Beach. I always get the same thing: the chicken tawook plate w spicy hummus, no salad, w extra rice and no pickles. The spicy hummus isn't spicy to me. Their yogurt cucumber dip is so good and refreshing. I also highly recommend their spicy potato's. They will be the best potatoes you've ever had. This restaurant is full of art inside and their restrooms are very clean. I recommend parking on Corona street if you don't want to pay for parking.

    - Vibes: modern, tight, social space - Crowd: recommend a reservation, crowded on weekends - Menu: lots of selection, good for health conscious - Value for price: 5/5 very well made, great quality food - Service: 5/5 very kind and attentive - Parking: metered street parking nearby. If you walk a bit you can find for free Came to Open Sesame with my Long Beach friend on a Friday night. She's on an elimination diet so this was one of the few places she's able to enjoy. Expect it to be bustling, we made a reservation. Good place for a first date or dinner with friends. I tried the Open Sesame pizza, which was delicious. Our neighbors asked what I ordered so they could copy me. Fresh tomatoes, delicious cheese, and a great option for pickier eaters. My friend had the garlic potatoes, which she loved. I also tried a lentil soup, which was shockingly filling and has a lovely flavor. Definitely recommend this place for slightly pricey but highly delicious difning.

    A lovely view inside.

Once upon a time, another fabulous meal here! Love the rose/grape drink, chicken skewers, and the eggplant dip were perfect! The end.

Honestly, the best Lebanese/Mediterranean restaurant I've been to. The dining room is small and space is a bit tight, so you may want to opt for the patio if it's a nice day. The food is exceptional. Everything we ordered was very good-- portions are relatively good sized and you will leave full!

I love this place! I can't get enough of the food here! It is terrific! The service is normally great and the ambience is amazing as well! The only downfall here is the limited seating and the close proximity of all the tables. There isn't a dish here that I've tried that I haven't liked! On weekends and evenings it can fill up fast and it can be a long wait for a table.

Amazing Mediterranean food with so much flavor! We were traveling and decided to give it a try while exploring, and honestly we wanted to come back again the next night. Fresh salads, delicious hummus, and great spicy options. The service was wonderful and the ambiance was warm and family friendly. They even gave us scented oil for our hands at the end and it smelled so good. I'd travel back just for this restaurant alone! Shoutout to our waiter

DISCLAIMER: FOOD WAS AMAZING. Everything came out flavorful and fresh. I really enjoyed the Zaatar and the open sesame combo plate. The three stars is for the service. I came in today (2/25/26) and the male server was just rushing whenever he would speak. First, we were served our pizza without any utensils but it was fine because it was just pizza after we finished it, the main dishes came and we still weren't given utensils hahaha anyway that would have been super minor if the server was less rushing. Maybe it was a hectic day for him but I noticed that the table next to us also felt the same way because they were trying to figure out what he said. Anyway we still left the place happy because the food was so good we just ignored how the inattentive the server was.

I loved my experience at open sesame. Starting off strong with the food. It's divine and I really love that not only is it tasty but after I eat it I don't feel slow and sluggish. Which indicates to me they use good ingredients and put some love into the food. The service is amazing and everyone is sweet and accommodating. I really like the ambiance as well. The environment is very welcoming not only do I like ordering out but sitting in this restaurant to eat is great as well. Thank you for the wonderful food open sesame :).

Had a going away party for a large group this week, split some appetizers, a few bottles of wine, and got a plate for myself as well. Everything we had was delicious! Service was reasonably fast for a large group. Small space overall and no reservations system, so plan accordingly!

Ordered rare, received well done steak

I love you guys I really do! But what is this?! I paid $45 for the combo plate and ordered RARE (bc I know you guys tend to overcook the red meats) and this is still how it arrived! I love supporting you but for the cost, the steak should at least be cooked correctly.

What's up: Meeting up with a friend for lunch in Long Beach. Since he's familiar with the area, I left the lunch plans to him and he suggested Open Sesame! Parking: Metered street parking. Might have to drive around to find an open spot. Environment: They have indoor and patio seating available. Since it was a bright and super sunny day, we decided to sit indoors. Dilyn took care of us and he was such a friendly person. He came by often to check up on us and refill our drinks; also very chill. He took our order and the food came out quick! The Women's restrooms are located on the other side of the main restaurant, beyond the archway; Dilyn was nice enough to walk me over to it. The Men's are located elsewhere on the opposite side. At the end of the meal, mint candies are offered as well as a bit of rose water to make your hands feel soft, refreshing and lightly scented. Kinda cool. What was ordered: - Spicy Garlic Potatoes (yummy. Cubes of potatoes with a tangy and spicy flavor) - Chicken Tawook (with salad and hummus and pita bread. Very flavorful) - Iced Moroccan Green Tea (the mint leaves made it refreshing) Yay/Nay/Meh: This was a nice experience. My friend loves this place and I can see why. The service was great and Dilyn and the other staff members were super friendly and attentive; we felt well taken care of. Not to mention, the food was also yummy and the splash of rose water in the end made it a bit of a unique experience. Credit cards are accepted.

My takeout order of the FRENCH CUT LAMB CHOPS was FANTASTIC. They were, quite possibly, the best-tasting lamb chops I've had in Long Beach, easily surpassing the competing Greek restaurant across the street. The accompanying side of BABA GHANNOUJ was also superb--creamy, and well-made. This is a solid, must-try selection for anyone looking for high-quality lamb. On my dine-in visit with a friend, we were seated inside. The interior is visually engaging, filled with unique portraits and art hanging on the walls. My favorite was the centerpiece art featuring a middle-aged man wearing a red fez, reminiscent of Apu from Aladdin. The service was both nice and fast. I ordered the LAMB KABOB PITA SANDWICH, which was good and perfectly acceptable for a dish priced UNDER $20. We requested extra fresh garlic paste to dip the sandwich. My only minor critique was the SPICY GARLIC POTATOES. While they were good, they were NOT SPICY AT ALL. It's always disappointing when a restaurant labels a dish as "spicy" and it falls short of expectations.

Located off the fun Retro Row on Fourth St. with the last Friday event happening, we noticed a good amount of people walking in and there was a security guard out front. There was also a corner that hosted a live band. When we arrived, no one was playing yet. The crowd seemed to be more of the younger hipster vibe. A completely different crowd from the LA scenes. Getting a drink wasn't that bad even though it was busy. I happened to get lucky when someone moved from the bar stool for me to approach. I was a little surprised when the wine I ordered was in a box...lol... I mean, it was whatever. Some options were for a glass only or for both a glass or bottle. But when it came to checking out, tipping options went from 20 25 percent to 30 percent. Wasn't used to that as an option as it's not like you're dinning in. Anyway, the surprise was when we walked out and seen that they had a massive back patio. It was hard finding a seat as it was packed. There was also a food trunk on deck but wasn't sure what they were serving. We noticed people with hotdogs and someone with a box of pizza. Not sure if it's from the vendor or if you're allowed outside food in. The vibe was fun, the crowd was lively and everyone there for a good time. It's more of a younger scene. The selection offers great variety, and because seating is limited, it's very much a first-come, first-served situation, arrive early if you want a seat. There's some indoor seating, with more available outside. The wine servers were friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable, which made the experience even better. They also host food vendors. There is a sushi spot right next door which is conveniently located next to the theater where you can score discounted bottles if you're catching a movie. Wines rotate as they sell out, so if you fall in love with one, do yourself a favor and grab a bottle before it's gone.

We'd be happy to come down again in traffic, because it's absolutely worth the drive here. Some find the pizza sizes small or the prices high in comparison to your average pizza joint - but your average, everyday pizza place in California is just...ew. Their crust is very thin, Neapolitan style in a brick oven, beautiful and a little chewy, slightly-charred from the brick oven. Amazing texture. Traditionalists, so we just got the Margherita and Bianco, adding some mushrooms and a drizzle of truffle. SOO good. We also tried the fried zucchini blossoms, which were very light and not oily at all. Caesar salad was very delicious and fresh, also had the octopus, which was perfectly grilled and like eating steak. To finish, we had some amazing coffee with tiramisu. Wow. Not usually a fan, but their tiramisu was super light, not overly sweet, and super good. Thanks to our wonderful server, Diana ! Super friendly and everything came out quickly. Eveything is delicate, fresh, lovely, and makes you feel like you're in Italy. Can't wait to be back. Tutto bene, grazie!
