Ops Gear sucks and looks to scam people out of their money. Their MO is telling people that their purchase is on its way and then you get nothing. When you trying calling them, you get an Automated system saying that they will route your call using state of art technology to the next available representative. I left a voicemail and I never got a call back. I sent two emails and I never heard back either. I reached out to them through IM on Facebook and the first time they asked me if I wanted a credit . I said no, just my refund. After that I tried using the IM on Facebook and I never got a response back. Stay away from these people. I AM DISGUSTED! I literally cannot believe this company is still in business! A while back I had placed an order for a pair of gloves, and after weeks of not hearing anything I called in to just to be told they were on back-order. I wished they would have at least let me know, but didn't think much of it and opted to just cancel the order. Fast forward a little bit, and I placed another order, forgiving and forgetting my last experience. After 3 weeks, I had not received any notification or heard anything about the order, so I followed up. The response just said, my order is on it's way to their warehouse and will ship out once it arrives. I thought perhaps it was just delayed and let it go. After another 3 weeks, I followed up again, and no response. I gave another week and followed up again, and was told they were waiting on an item. I wait another 2 weeks, basically from forgetting about it, follow up again, and no response! I tell my wife about it and she immediately thinks it's a scam. Feeling dumb, I start looking for reviews and found all of the ones here on yelp saying the same thing. I email the owner, who's email is on this site as well. He immediately responds to me and one of his employees, telling them to look after me first thing in the morning. Have another 2 weeks and 4 more emails, two of which have gone unanswered, they asked if I would accept a store-credit. I am still looking to get my money refunded.......... AVOID IF AT ALL POSSIBLE! Please listen to the other reviews warning you of this place. There are so many other better places to buy your gear that will be upfront, responsive and do what they promise (Midway, Opticsplanet, CheaperThanDirt, BravoConcealment, Bravo Company, Amazon, etc.). I buy gear for training and day to day use so I am always looking for a place that has quality gear. I decided to give this place a chance after getting their emails for months. What a mistake! I ordered a simple light weight Blackhawk jacket ( +/- $60) to be shipped to my home. After not hearing anything for a while I touched bases with the owner and got an answer...they were sold out and back ordered but they never mentioned a thing to me. Ok, what are my alternatives? A 5.11 jacket (+/- $120) peaked my interest so I went with that one. ALSO back ordered but I wasn't made aware until I had accepted this as my replacement for the Blackhawk jacket. I spent the next TEN days tracking people down to get me my jacket. The only promise that they kept was the ETA once it was in FedEx's hands. Long story short, if you like working for your order, contacting people, demanding a refund or demanding your product and feeling like you have just been scammed...then go with OPS Gear. OpsGear had an online advert for a Condor Chest Rig last week, which after shipping, was only $15. A great deal, I thought it was overstock or a promo and apparently a lot of other's did too based on the real time customer purchases ticker on their site. Apparently someone didn't review before "publishing" the changes on their site. I do have a receipt for my purchase. I received an email stating my order was processing for shipment. A bit later, I get an email stating that they "cancelled" my order at "MY" request! WHAT!? I didn't do that; that email is VERY misleading. Geez, at least change the verbiage on your emails. I then emailed their "support" and called their main number, waste of time; only goes to vm. The email reply I received from support stated that it was a glitch and they can't possibly sell them at that price. I asked for a manager to reply to my email, nothing as of yet. I am typically a very understanding person, mistakes can happen, but the more I researched this company, the more I see this is more the norm than not. Based on my own experiences, if I go to a local storefront, and their staff misprint an article, or the register has a higher price than what is marked, they have to honor the lower price. After researching their FB page (which they do appear to spend a lot of time updating in real time), BBB complaints, the Utah Tax Commission, and other online review sites, I am unclear on how they are in business. I own a small business too. Sometimes you have to bite the bullet when it's you or an employee make a mistake. I get it and it's hard, but I guess that's a practice that's lost on some people. Apparently they are proud of their overseas work and Utah based training facility, I guess catering to LEO agencies.... Do they give the same level of support to those individuals? Maybe their time is better spent in those arenas instead of dealing with the public and selling tangible items. On a side note, I laughed and thought, man this place seems to operate like the current administration. Deceit, no honor, integrity, and can't uphold their end. Check out the F.E.C. site and who they apparently donated $100 to .....birds of the same feather it appears. Judge by actions, not words, and people have spoken about OpsGear. Worst experience ever!!! I placed an order for Christmas on December 5 and received my confirmation quickly. Then nothing for WEEKS. I contacted customer service who was initially very quick to respond. Until the day before Christmas when I was told my item was on backorder until April. Yeah, no thanks. Refund me..... yeah, no response to that request. I ask again, and again, AND AGAIN I don't even know how many times. Finally a response the 3rd week of January saying a refund will be processed. Wait a week, nothing shows in my bank. 10 days after saying my refund is processing, I get another message from customer service saying my refund will be processed "today". Why wasn't it processed 10 days ago like you said you would?!? I wait another couple day. F this. F ALL OF THIS! Called my bank and provided all their emails and messages promising a refund. I should have listened to the reviews. I ordered three items on 09/06/14. I received one item 3 weeks later and then followed up several times until I was told that the other two items were on back order. I would have liked to have known this before hand so I kindly asked to cancel my order and refund my card as I couldn't wait another six weeks for the items to come in. After about half a dozen emails about them looking into my refund and 3 months later I'm still not receiving my credit. Most of the items on here you can get on amazon within a couple of days. I have been really trying to like opsgear but I'm having a really hard time. I've ordered numerous items (4) that showed "in stock" but come to find out they have to be ordered in and will take an additional week. If it was just one item I would say ok it's a fluke but 4 is ridiculous. Obviously they are just wanting you to purchase thinking its in stock cuz they know if it says out of stock you might look elsewhere. Also ordered the Fenix TK-22 light. I ordered the new version with 680 lumens with the new LED. That's what they show online and that's also what my receipt said but the item I received was the old version of 650 lumens. I called and told them I received the wrong product expecting great customer service by being told that they apologize and can swap it out for the light I ordered. Instead he argued about it telling me "it's just like a grocery store older products go out first". I was shocked that that's the response I was getting since my receipt specifically stated the new version and online specifically states the new version. It's a whole different product!!!! If Fenix didn't feel like the update was a good one they wouldn't even bother doing it!! So it's not even like the grocery store...if I'm getting the older product fact is I'm getting the same product that I paid for. This case I got a whole different product! I placed an order on September 12 with "USPS Priority Mail 3-Day" service. I received a confirmation and was charged almost immediately. Four days later I received a "shipping update" and a tracking number. The USPS tracking number came back as "not found" by the USPS. Checking further, it's not even a valid USPS tracking number format. I opened a support ticket and still have not heard back, even after a follow-up email to OPSGEAR. The acknowledgement I received for my support ticket contained a link "to check status or add comments". But when I tried to access it, I received an error that says "you are not authorized, contact your help desk". I attempted two online chat sessions for support, but after entering information, I got an error back that says no one is available. It's been 11 days since I was charged. No response from OPSGEAR, no product received. I'm now working on having the payment reversed and reporting OPSGEAR as a fraudulent vendor. Worst. Company. Ever. How their business works is you place an order with them and they immediately charge you for the purchase price plus shipping. They then order it themselves and send it back out when they receive it, or have it drop shipped directly from another company. If you have any issues, forget talking to a human. There's this ridiculous email ticketing system and no one is EVER available by phone even if you request a call back. Most of the BBB reviews and complaints all show that you have to contact either the BBB or UT Department of Consumer Affairs to get a refund when they send you the wrong or damaged goods, assuming they send you your order at all. This should be on there web site so you don't have to waste months of your time battling them to get your money back. When you call there so called customer service number, no one ever answers and they never get back to you. After 2 months of trying to cancel my order and get some kind of acknowledgment regarding the issue. I ended up putting in a complaint with my bank. One of the worst company's to deal with in terms of customer service. I placed an order at the end of July and the only notification I received was a notice of payment received. A week went by with no communication as to when I would receive my merchandise. I emailed the company and received a reply from "Josh" that they were behind on shipping orders and that mine would go out asap. Two weeks later still no reply. I emailed again telling them I would be in contact with paypal as I believed they were attempting to defraud me. Thankfully paypal sent me my money back. As for opsgear, no explanation or apology for their incompetence. I will never do business with them ever again, there is no excuse for this level of unprofessionalism. I ordered a pair of gloves and a vest from this company. I also paid for 2-day expedited shipping so I would get it in time. The gloves shipped separately with no issues, however it took 2 weeks for the vest that was in stock an not back ordered to even be sent out. It was only sent out because I sent an email to their customer service to remind them that I ordered something from them. No explanation as to why just a short response saying they will look into it. 30 hours later it is finally shipped however it is now being shipped by UPS ground completely ignoring the extra cost I paid to ship it faster. I feel like most companies would try and make up for their own mistake, however this company just continually screws you over. Their phone number is just an annoying computer voice that goes on and on about sales and buzzwords, then tells you to leave a message that they don't even care to call you back for. Sold me a bill of goods. I would give them zero stars if I could. It is amazing how much this outfit has invested in marketing and how little they have spent on fulfillment and customer service. Don't be fooled by the slick website and daily email marketing, these guys do not have the goods. Like everyone else here, I placed an order that never arrived. When you call the number listed on their website, you get a voicemail that promises to call you back within "24 duty hours." In this case, translate "duty" the way your mom used the word when you were four - i.e. BS. They do not return calls - ever. They processed my order for about 40 items and charged my credit card over a grand. After a three weeks, all I had received was a few cans of pepper spray drop shipped from Smith and Wesson. They did respond to one of my many emails by creating a "ticket" but despite many more attempts to reach them afterward, there has been zero follow-up to this day - over a month now. I have never received a call back or spoken to a real person there. I finally had to file a dispute with my credit card company to get any justice. Unless you just love tying up your money and wasting your time, avoid these guys. They are inept at best, crooked at worst. Too bad because the selection and pricing on the website are promising. The Saturday before Valentine's Day my wife ordered me some items I needed before work. These items were shown to be in stock on the website. Prior to this I heard good things about OpsGear. The day before Valentine's Day one of the four items ordered came in, and I called OpsGear about the other three. They said they would pass my request along. I was emailed back by "Eric" he said due to weather it could take up to two weeks, but most likely quicker. A week after that I emailed back for an update. I was told it would be another week. I waited and the deadline passed with no updates. I called them on Friday. Eric answered the phone. I asked what was going on, and he blamed the manufacture for the delays. He said they have had so many issues with "Condor". I told him these items were a Valentine's gift from the wife, and her flowers have died, and the chocolates have been eaten, and I am without my gift. He said he would call the warehouse and call me back. An hour and a half later he calls and said it was boxed up and ready to ship. It is expected to ship on Wednesday. Hello, it's Friday and it's ready to ship, but will ship on Wednesday? I asked him if he would upgrade my overpriced shipping for my trouble. He said he was unable to do so because it was on a pallet ready to ship. I told him this was my first experience with this company, and so far it will be the last. I asked what he could comp me to entice me to try them again. He offered free shipping on my next order. Give me a break, I could place an order to another website get free shipping, and a discount. OPSGEAR not seem to be a serious undertaking, because the comment that I ended up finding on the internet and by my recent experience in buying some item there. On April 7th placed an order worth 225 and 28 of the same month asked a question about the shipment of the goods, as had already spent many days and nothing had been informed; the same day I received a response saying that a certain Mike apologized and everything would be delivered in about 3-5 weeks I believe the contrary that date. In today's date, when trying to access my account on the company's website got the answer that there was no account in my e-mail; fact that causes me great concern, because it denotes the least bad faith with consumers who made a complaint. Hope you can still make a mutual agreement with this company before trying to obtain compensation for damages, material and moral, by official means. read more
